wedding planning

Your wedding day will be a celebration of love between you and your partner. Before the cheers of the day comes a lot of decisions which aren’t always easy. Today we’ve got lots of great tips to help you navigate this new chapter and plan your day with ease…

1. Set your expectations clearly from the very beginning

From the second you announce your engagement you will most likely be bombarded with questions of when’s the wedding, where’s the wedding etc… the list goes on! Don’t let the expectation of these questions get the better of you, take the time you both need to begin working on how your day will be. It’s important to understand each others expectations from the very beginning, so things like large or small wedding, religious or civil ceremony etc. Know and understand each others thoughts before you make any major decisions.

2. Don’t rush the process

Believe us, you will look back on wedding planning and wonder where the time went, so don’t be hasty with your decision making. Take time to consider all the big decisions such as venue, photographer and food options. You’ll likely reach a point where you feel you can’t make any more decisions, so always remember to take your time and don’t rush into anything you are not 100% comfortable with.

3. Chat, chat, chat

Just like in your married life, communication is the key to success. Don’t be afraid to share your opinions and listen carefully to those of your partner without any fear of judgement.

4. Be comfortable with compromise

Planning a wedding will take compromises and you need to be comfortable with making those decisions. From budget chats to colour choices, it’s important you are both comfortable with what’s going on!

5. Stay true to yourself as a couple

All too often couples will get so tied up in creating the perfect day for their guests they forget about themselves and what they want. Always remember the purpose of your wedding day is to share your love, the celebrations with your family and friends is just the cherry on the top.
