Say hello to Teresa and Thomas! This beautiful couple planned a laidback wedding, where the focus was on entertainment. To spoil their guests, they had several singers, bands and entertainers to keep the party going!

Teresa and Thomas knew each other in passing, but they really connected when Teresa was getting radiotherapy for breast cancer and Thomas was taking his dad to an appointment. They got talking and the rest is history!

This is their magical proposal story from Teresa’s perspective:

“He brought me and the kids to the Christmas Markets in Vienna and proposed on the giant ferris wheel.”

They opted for a laidback approach, with their priority being music and entertainment. For colours, they chose sage green, peach and cream.

Teresa wore a beautiful Justin Alexander signature gown and Thomas looked dapper in a Cardi Cream suit.

The bridesmaids wore sage green embellished dresses, each with a different style. The lads wore navy suits with sage green accessories.

They describe their ceremony as ‘laidback’.

“We did a ring warming ceremony and lit unity candles. Song choice was important to us – I walked down the aisle to ‘1000 years’. Other songs included in the ceremony were ‘Sweet Sixteen’ by the Fureys, ‘Somewhere only we know’, ‘Rainy night in Soho’ and we walked out to ‘Dreams’.”

Barberstown Castle is second to none, absolutely flawless. The staff were the best I have ever encountered, with attention to detail.  Very professional but with a homely vibe.  The food was unreal, people are still talking about it, the atmosphere is elegant yet relaxed. Genuinely I don’t think there is a venue that could compete with the standards of service, food and the hotel itself.”

Their wedding was beautifully captured by Peter Bell and his team on both photo and video.

“He was patient and to be honest we were more interested in the entertainment than getting photos, but he worked around us very well and had even sent some samples within 48 hours. His partner (the videographer) was very subtle and we cannot wait to see the finished product – I highly recommend this team.”

Teresa and Thomas really went big on entertainment!

They had Tracy Gallagher singing during the ceremony and they love her voice and how she nailed the song choices.

After the ceremony, they had a ballad session with George Murphy and his band to really get the party started. During dinner, they had a bit of light swing with Sean Hession (Frankly Sinatra). Before the band, they had Irish dancers come out to entertain everyone. And then the main band, Camembert Quartet, came out to continue the party, also providing a DJ!

For favours, they gave each guest a delicate glitter box with gold ribbon and pearl, filled with Lindor chocolates.

Teresa’s favourite memory is her 6-year-old nephew break dancing during the first dance. She says it was just so cute!

We always ask newlyweds for their best wedding planning advice. This is what they said:

“If you are having a day 2, pop it on the invites. And also have arrival time in invites 30 mins prior to ceremony start time.”
