2016 Bridal Dress Trends

Fashion & Jewellery

Is it your turn yet? You know, to go find the dress? Eek! If you’ve been patiently waiting (and pining, researching and falling in love with every-wedding-dress-you-see!) and now is the time, what the heck will be in the bridal shops?! Today, we’re sharing six of the hottest bridal gown trends for 2016, and oh what a glorious collection of wedding gowns awaits you.

Trend One

First up, layered skirts perfect if you want to go down a fairytale/ballgown route but keep it modern. Think big skirts made up of lots of delicate and floaty layers- heavenly! We love Watters for this style, they just do it so elegantly, as well as Justin Alexander who has added a touch of lace to the mix also.

Trend Two

Simple and elegant has always been a popular choice for brides, but this year we’re seeing sleek gowns with added sex appeal. We are loving Atelier Pronovias’ take, and again a few from the new 2016 collection from Justin Alexander could just be your sexy-sleek winner.

Love in Bloom – Ivy & Aster

Boho will be big this year, we can feel it! Yes, the boho look has gained popularity over the last few year but in 2016 so many more designers are stepping up their boho game. Look to Ivy & Aster for some sweet floral additions and Parisian designer, Rime Arodaky for a modern boho look that will make your guests gasp.

Bluebell & Lilac – Sharon Hoey

This past two years separates really have been giving one piece dresses a run for their money. This season, Irish designer Sharon Hoey has dedicated an entire collection to the ‘mix and match’ idea – we salute you Sharon and all your separates beauty! Have another look at Rime Arodaky for a more funky edge.

Trend Five

Lace, no biggie, lace has been around forever. Yes, indeed it has but the face and look of lace is changing. With stretch lace being big news this year, you can expect figure hugging sexiness from the lace of 2016, as well as ultra glamorous see through and nude lace, which has become popular thanks to eastern European designers like Berta and Inbal Dror.

Trend Six

Hoorah, the beautiful back details are here to stay! We adore our picks from Suzanne Neville and Claire Pettibone.
