Ann-Marie & Donagh’s Sophisticated Cong Wedding

Ann-Marie and Donagh were married on a crisp autumn day surrounded by their close family and friends. They held their wedding at Lisloughrey Lodge, Cong. Co. Mayo, which was beautifully captured by Derek O’Rourke of Memento Photography.

Ann-Marie and Donagh met through a mutual friend, whilst they were both on a night out in Dublin.

The Proposal

Donagh chose a very cold but very romantic January evening in Lahinch, Co. Clare to pop the question.

Wedding Location

We held our day in St. Mary of the Rosary Catholic Church and Lisloughrey Lodge, Cong, Co. Mayo. We looked at several venues but fell in love with the location, the beautiful church and grounds along with the setting of the hotel, it was just right for us.

The couple had their relaxed wedding photographs captured in the breathtaking Cong Abbey. They stopped at key scenic points including the Monk’s Fishing House and the beautiful River Cong which acted as stunning backdrops.

The Dress

Ann-Marie chose an elegant gown from Duane Bridal Couture, Ballinaslow, Co. Galway. It’s simple lines are understated and classic, whilst still remaining an excellent choice for a modern bride.

Ann-Marie’s uncle drove the official wedding car. Not only did it make a unique wedding gift to the couple, but his stylish vintage Rover added a very personal touch to the day.

The chic car helped make the day all the more special.

The whole day was so special, but having all our friends and family around us, celebrating with us, made it perfect.

Advice for other couples

If you’re the emotional type, have tissues at the ready! And remember to take a deep breath and enjoy the day, it goes by so quickly.

We would also highly recommend having a videographer- there are so many parts of the day you won’t get to see, if you have it captured, you can watch it over and over!

And lastly being at ease with your photographer will make for a much more relaxed day. We really loved the fact we hardly knew Derek and Sean were even there on the day!
