After meeting through mutual friends over 10 years ago our very stylish couple today, Joanne and Des married in the opulent surroundings of St Marys Cathedral, Killarney. Their day was captured perfectly by David Casey Photography. We love Des’ sense of groom style with his dapper three piece blue suit and bow tie, perfect inspiration for your man!
Joanne and Des knew their relationship was great from the very beginning and eight years in Des decided the time was right to pop the question. (Now guys, if you’re hovering around looking for a perfect proposal idea, we think this might just be it!)
“We drove from Spain to Monaco for a day trip. I had secretly planned the whole thing, had the ring and was ready to go! I proposed on 25th July 2013 in Casino Square, Monte Carlo and that night we stayed in The Hotel De Paris, Monte Carlo,” explained Des.
Back home in Ireland Joanne began planning their wedding and chose to get married in March 2015. After looking at a few venues they drove past The Malton in Killarney and after viewing the gorgeous location knew it was ideal for their day.
Without the need for a strong overall theme to their day, Joanne and Des created a stylish wedding day with beautiful rustic pink and ivory flowers and sharp fashion choices. Joanne’s strapless white wedding gown hugged her figure and featured a flowing cascade effect fishtail skirt.
“I bought my wedding dress in Say I Do in Midleton, Cork. It was the third dress I tried on in that shop but knew right away it was the one for me,” said Joanne.
“Our day was brilliant from start to finish, a real dream come true! Both Des and I were keen that the food served was perfect and it certainly was! My highlight was walking down the aisle with my dad,” added Joanne.
