It’s well and truly December and the Christmas tree is finally up in the Mrs2Be office! We reckon that’s permission enough to get seriously Christmassy with our wedding planning for the next few weeks, starting with this fab shoot from some of our favourite Irish wedding suppliers. Enjoy!
Nothing says Christmas like a red and green colour scheme. Leave the elf costumes at home however, and bring out the holly and the ivy instead.
We reckon these pine cone napkin weights would also work well for a rustic country wedding.
If you’re getting married in a church at Christmas, it’s likely that it will already be decked out with flowers and candles to suit your theme. Use taper length candles on your dinner tables, rather than tea lights to maintain a slightly formal, Christmassy feel.
Red is most definitely the colour of the Christmas season, which is perfect because it just happens to look amazing on a white backdrop. Work it in any way you can, whether it’s your shoes, lipstick, bouquet or table decor.
Now there’s an idea we love – using classic Christmas novels instead of table numbers. The Elves and The Shoemaker, The Nutcracker and A Christmas Carol would all work well for this theme.
If you’re wearing a white dress and carrying a red bouquet, dress your bridesmaids in red and give them a white bouquet for some eye-catching contrast.
Winter weddings allow for heavier dress fabrics and somehow, cathedral length trains like this one seem only appropriate!
This satin flower and brooch bouquet from Carol Shaw Jewellery looks like it could be the one for us!
A full brooch bouquet on the other hand, is something that if looked after, is likely to become a family heirloom. How cool would it be to hand this vintage gem down to your own daughter?
