DIY Jam Jar Wedding Decor

Inspiration

Ah, the humble jam jar; such a versatile little piece when it comes to styling your wedding venue, plus they are virtually free to get your hands on. If you’re planning a rustic or whimsical day, get everyone and your Granny saving those jars!

This blustery morning we’ve got seven DIY jam jar wedding decor ideas for you, that could all easily be made by your own fair hand on a rainy Saturday afternoon!

Remember our washi tape feature? Pick your favourites and get sticking with this ‘so simple, even a child could do it’ task!

Wrap jars of all shapes and sizes in simple florist’s twine – perfect for an outdoor rustic celebration. We love the effect these jars give when dressed with simple blooms.

Use jam jars to create unique pew ends by using twine, string, ribbon or wire and hang from your pews with pretty flowers draping from them.

Fancy yourself as a bit of a Nigella? Why not make your own special flavoured jam, brand it, and give it to your guests as their wedding favours! We love this simple and rustic idea with brown paper and tied with string – simple but effective.

Glitter jam jar anyone? Yes please, we say! Simply dip your jars in sparkly paint, which can be picked up from most craft shops in a range of colours, tie with a pretty bow and add some sweet gypsophila for a sweet table centre idea.

Oh how gorgeous are these tea light candle holders? If you like the look of them, and we do, take a look at the DIY process, here.

Another quirky idea for wedding favours – paint your jam jar lids with blackboard paint, scribble your guests name on and voilà, one pretty favour/place setting! Choose your filling to suit your own tastes; mints, bonbons, jam, hot chocolate mix… the choices are endless!
