Lucy probably didn’t realise when she went to the garage to have her car fixed that she’d end up meeting the love of her life, and after a beautifully heart-felt proposal from Buddy and his 5-year old daughter in 2013, the couple tied the knot over a two-day home and abroad wedding, with the Irish leg held in the Kilkenny River Court Hotel.

Firstly, is this the most relaxed you’ve ever seen a bride on the morning of her wedding?! Lucy just exudes cool, calm, collected… Absolutely loving her style from the get-go!
“We had no specific theme as we are an easygoing couple and focused more on enjoyment and relaxation on the day,” said Lucy. “There were no disasters, just the bride and bridesmaids waiting on the groomsmen for a change – they were bricking their speeches which never even got said!”
We’re beyond obsessed with Lucy’s amazing tatt and how it contrasted so beautifully with the delicate detail on the sheer bodice of her stunning wedding dress – it’s hard to believe it’s an evening gown right?!
“My dress was found by a good friend who thronged many different web pages for me” said Lucy. “In the end I actually purchased an evening gown, which in my opinion fitted most wonderfully for our foreign beach wedding and home picturesque Kilkenny wedding. It was bought in Carrie’s Closet in Cork City.”
We’re all over the idea of everybody getting ready together, being completely relaxed and just having the craic before the ceremony. It’s such a great idea, and it looks like the bridal party really enjoyed their time together as friends before the wedding formalities kicked in.
The bridesmaids’ dresses were in Lucy’s favourite cheery colour, coral, and they looked absolutely fab on their amazing figures and fitted in well with the whole wedding style. The bridesmaids sourced their dresses online at Missguided, while the couple’s darling flower girl picked out her own adorable pink and white dress from Monsoon in Dundrum.
The couple had their ‘first wedding’ in Bodrum in Turkey on June 21st, and less than a month later returned to the Kilkenny River Court Hotel to celebrate with close friends. Their photographer Alan (Golden Moments Photography) captured some great images during a walkabout around Kilkenny – much to the enjoyment of locals and tourists alike!

“The highlight of the day was having everyone join us and enjoy our special moments”, said Lucy.
