By letting your guests know the dress code you are simply letting them know how formal or informal your day is going to be and you are giving them the opportunity to dress appropriately – and believe me they will thank you for this as it saves any embarrassment they may feel if dressed inappropriately!

The best way to let your guests know the dress code is to simply put it at the end of your invitation where everybody will see it. Alternatively if you have a details card or a wedding website the information on dress code can go here.

SOME OF THE DRESS CODE OPTIONS ARE

Black Tie

Black Tie states that men wear tuxedos and women should wear long, formal dresses. Although the tone of black tie has become more loosely interpreted in recent years, with women often wearing formal knee length dresses also.

Formal

Formal attire is more casual than black tie. It means men can wear tuxedos if they like, but can opt to wear a good suit and tie instead. Ties are a must and ladies should wear long or knee length formal dresses.

Cocktail

Men should wear good suit trousers and a decent shirt with or without a tie. The women can wear cocktail dresses which are shorter in length but usually to the knee.

Beach Chic

This is the perfect attire for destination weddings set on a beach. Guests can wear less formal, light clothing suitable for a hot beach wedding.

Festive Attire

Guests are to dress according to the theme of the event. Clothing should be playful and fun.

Casual

This means that there is no true dress code and the guests can choose what to wear themselves without worrying about formalities.

Most importantly, choose a dress code that you are comfortable with and that represents your day, your way. Have fun!!!
