Maybe it’s something to do with living in Ireland and memories of being kitted out all in green for St. Patrick’s Day when we were younger but we Irish brides seem to steer away from shades of green when it comes to choosing a colour scheme.
We love a touch of olive green around here. There’s not too many olive trees, but there is plenty of green!
Olive green is a totally under-used shade in our books, we don’t know why because it works well with so many other colours and is perfect for a wedding no matter the time of the year!
Dressing your bridesmaids in this natural colour is a good place to start with your olive theme…. it’s a shade suited to many skin tones so should work across the board.
Olive green works so well with many other contrasting colours including teal, pale pink, lemon, plum and even metallic shades. Or you could opt for a neutral ivory scheme with accents of olive dotted around, this too works wonderfully.
Using real olive trees is certainly one way of staying true to the colour! We love this organic wreath made with olive foliage and rosemary – imagine the divine scent!
