Relaxed Spring Wedding at Bellinter House by Steve Weldon

Real Weddings

We’ve a real beauty of a wedding for you today! Niamh and Fergal were married this past Spring at Bellinter House in County Meath. Their day was relaxed and personal with gorgeous styling and beautiful photography by Steve Weldon – we’re in love with their day, enjoy!

“Fergal and I first met in the gym in Dublin. Fergal was the manager there, and after my mam Sheila played cupid, a friendship (and a healthy GAA rivalry !) blossomed into romance,” explained Niamh.

Romance was around to stay especially after Niamh visited Fergal’s family farm in Kilbeggan and when their beautiful little daughter Isabelle was born in 2015. Fergal soon proposed at Niamh’s favourite beach, Selema, in Portugal with the help from little Isabelle.

With an April 2017 wedding date chosen Niamh began planning their ideal day. “I knew I wanted an intimate wedding. Something relaxed and a bit quirky, and somewhere that would be exclusively ours for the whole day and night. We visited lots of different venues to get a feel for what we wanted. Once we found the dream venue, the rest was easy! I spoke to friends about their experiences, searched online and pinned lots of ideas on Pinterest!” she explained.

Niamh struck it lucky when it came to bridal shopping for her dress – she found her stunning cap sleeve lace Maggie Sottero gown at Alexanders Bridal in Dublin on her first visit! Her veil was her something borrowed from her friend Emma. Whilst her maids wore soft pink dresses, her adorable flower girls wore Paul Costello dresses.

“The day was truly amazing from start to finish! Everyone was so happy and in high spirits!

Berenice, our celebrant was wonderful. While the ceremony was serious in nature, her light hearted manner and good humour managed plenty of laughs throughout. In particular when Fergal’s mam nearly lit the unity candle by mistake! We both thought the ceremony was so beautiful and personal, and the room where it was held was really intimate. It felt like everyone there was really a part of our celebration,” said Niamh.

Looking back on their day as Niamh said; “We danced our socks of and had the best party of our lives, with all our friends and family! It was magic! The band were fantastic, they kept the dance floor full all night!”

Niamh’s Advice

Call me – I’ve decided to get into wedding planning as a business, I loved it all so much! – just kidding, I’d say take your time, pick the right venue and the rest will all follow organically. Shop around too, and don’t feel like you have to have lots of expensive extras, which can really add up. At the end of the day, everyone is there to see you happy, so take a deep breath, don’t feel under pressure to do anything you  don’t want to do, don’t get bogged down in the minor details, and enjoy it all!
