“People said to me not to stress over the little things… but for me it’s the little things that count!”
The couple: Maria & Sean Farmar
Wedding date: 4th April 2015
Wedding venue: Tinakilly Country House Hotel, Wicklow
Photographer: Tomasz Kornas Photography
We met… online at Match.com.
Our proposal… Sean proposed in Tinakilly Hotel just before midnight on Valentine’s night 2014! This became our wedding venue also. We were listening to a jazz band and he whispered in my ear. All I could say was ‘really?!’ Then again ‘really?!’ Haha…
What our bridal party wore… Our bridesmaids’ dresses were bought online from Ali Express.
We chose our photographer Tomasz Kornas because… we saw from his previous work and when we met him, his attention to the little details. He captured each emotion of our wedding story just beautifully. So many of our guests asked about him and commented on his professionalism. He is a terribly nice guy – easy going and fun. We had full confidence in him and weren’t we right to?! We cannot thank him enough. Thank you Tomasz!
We chose our wedding venue because… we both loved Tinakilly’s vintage style and old world charm. It has big open fire places, chandeliers and is adorned with fresh flowers and lit candles – what’s not to love?! The stunning sea views, fab pavillion and manicured gardens made it the venue of choice for us. Our guests could not get over the venue and the food.
Our wedding theme/colours… Our theme was vintage with lots of DIY aspects. I made our confetti cones, ring cushion, 20 jars wrapped in lace and hessian for our table flowers (including our ceremony table), our table planner and napkin rings. We had sticks of Wicklow rock in jars for our guests to take home. I also had a sign and candle remembering those who couldn’t be there on our day and were with us in spirit. Our favours were mini storage jars I bought in the euro shop (30c each) with Butlers chocolates inside. We also opted for a cake of cheese which we loved. We had bunting, balloons, inflatable guitars and even an inflatable zimmer frame! A neighbour very kindly made our Wishing Tree.
My favourite part of the wedding day… Groom’s favourite memory: Seeing each other 🙂 Bride’s favourite memory: Seeing each other 🙂
My piece of advice for other brides… People said to me not to stress over the little things… but for me it’s the little things that count. Cherish each moment on your day, be in the present. Book a massage before your big day to help relax. Do whatever makes you both happy.
