The cover of this issue of confetti bride had a lovely dress. I think it was from Ciara Bride:
I tryed on some dresses in Bridal wraptures and really liked a couple from this range and the Paloma Blanca range but they were way over my budget:
The last two dress shops I went to Alexanders and Butterfly bride, I really found nothing I liked. The styles were all too fussy for me and some of the dresses just felt very stiff. I'm being to panic, so if anyone could recommend dress shops that my carry plainer styles for my price range I would be so so grateful!
Also does anyone know if any bridal shops do evening appointment?
I have so much on at the moment with work and other things and I am finding it hard to find time to go dress shopping. My wedding is the end of June so time is running out (just under 9 months...eek). The last shop I tried on dresses I really didnt like any of them. They were just not to my taste. I thought I would ask advice to narrow down the shops by style and price range.
I perfer really simple dresses with A-line skirt. I dont like gathers (think its called ruching?) or allot of sparkly bits (I have very plain taste). I really like the softer more flowing fabrics such as organza, lace and tull overlays. My budget is about 1,500 (max).
To give you an idea of what I liked, I loved Emma Grifiths dress (found it hard to find a pic of it, but theres one on this WOL thread):
I recommend Bridal Wraptures Stephens Green, De Stafford Bridal in Exchequer Street, the last appointment they do is 6pm on a Thursday and you dont need an appointment for Satruday.I also recommend Bridal Corner in Glasnevin, they have some fab dresses.Theres also Debenhams.
Its difficult to see the first dress properly, but reminded me of 2 dresses i saw:
The first was by lambert creations (style 'Havane'):
PS if its any consolation, my wedding is mid-july and have only just started looking at dresses - so dont worry, there is loads of time!
I will try to get an appointment with De Stafford Bridal to start with. Are they very expensive?
Coxos, that monsson dress is lovely. I'm begining to think that it would be so much easier to buy an off the rail dress. Everyone keeps telling me that I need to order 8 months before. I have lots of time to look in November to look but I'm worried thats too late. At the moment I'm swamped with work and study and I am so stressed out that I just can relax and enjoy shopping for a dress!
I was dress shopping at the wknd in Drogheda & came across a dress very like Emma Griffins - it has the same straps & goes straight down with a bit of detail on it, it was a really lovely dress.
It was a Mariees De Paris dress "Helodia" & its within your budget.
have you tried Moreland Bridal beside Clare Hall shopping centre Malahide Road???
I went there looking at Bridesmaids dresses and seen some nice plain wedding dresses grecian style - no bling!!!
You dont need an apointment and I am nearly sure they open late one night (I think)
Wow, thanks guys for all your help! I never thought I would find the whole thing so stressful.
JND20, which shop did you see the dress in? I cant seem to find a image of the dress on line.
08Aug09, I havent got a chance to look out that far yet. What designers do they carry? I will try and google the shop.
Just pm'd you all the details!
I just had a look at the shops website and they seem to have a lovely range. I might ring them and see an appointment in November is too late to order a dress from them.
