can anyone help with this. Am gonna start ttc in a fews weeks time just wondering if I'd be entitled to mat ben again. i have been working full time for at least 10 years I went on mat leave in June 2010 until Dec 2010. and I have been on unpaid and parental leave since. Heading back to work on 2nd of aug. So say if I was going on mat leave again around summer/autumn 2012. citizens info says If you are employed you must have: At least 39 weeks PRSI paid in the 12-month period before the first day of your maternity leave might have this might not[/color:29qani3l] Or At least 39 weeks PRSI paid since first starting work and at least 39 weeks PRSI paid or credited in the relevant tax year or in the tax year immediately following the relevant tax year. For example, if you are going on maternity leave in 2011, the relevant tax year is 2009 and the year following that is 2010. would I have PRSI credits for june to Dec 2010 while on mat leave & Jan to Aug 2011 unpaid & parental leave?[/color:29qani3l] Or At least 26 weeks PRSI paid in the relevant tax year and at least 26 weeks PRSI paid in the tax year immediately before the relevant tax year. For example, if you are going on maternity leave in 2011, the relevant tax year is 2009 and the year before that is 2008. I guess my question is do I have PRSI credits while on mat leave?

Yes you get credits while on Ml. There's a form though for PL your employer has to send in for those credits. Call MB section tomorrow and they'll check all is ok.

You should be ok, as you do get PRSI credit while on paid and unpaid maternity leave as well as parental leave.
