Just back from checkup at dentist and all well thank goodness, she was actually surprised my gums weren't bleeding!! But anyone know if "have a baby, lose a tooth" is just an old wives tale or not? DH's mum lost 2 on each of her 5 kids!! :eek :eek

It's an old wives tale! If you look after your teeth, and eat plenty of calcium, they will not fall out. Bleeding gums are not uncommon though.

Teeth take a beating during pregnancy (bleeding gums, regular acid rinses if you get sick alot etc) but if you look after them then there is no reason why you should lose any at all!!

I'm totally freaked by this! I'm going to have to start bringing tootbrush to work for after lunch! Never had a filling though, but losing a tooth is my worst nightmare :o(
