Blacktye Wedding Band

Blacktye are an incredible band! We had such a fun wedding thanks to them. They made the evening for us. Darragh was a delight to work on our wedding with and made everything straightforward and simple. We ended up requesting our first dance song 2 weeks before the big day and he was very calm about it letting us know they’d be able to do it no problem. The band performed it perfectly! On the day they instigated a dance-off between the bridesmaids, the best man and a couple other guests! It was such a fun evening and all of our guests commented on how much they loved the band. We can’t recommend Blacktye enough – nothing was too much trouble and we didn’t stop dancing til 2am!

OMG what a band!!!! they are incredible, the dance floor was full all night. We have had a lot of people messaging asking for them to be in their wedding as they were just so good. Super easy to deal with, had no problems learning a new song for our first dance song.

We booked Blacktye for our wedding on 30th October and had the most fantastic experience with them. They got everyone up from their seats and involved which was great fun. I particularly loved the bridesmaids and groomsmen dance off. They are really talented and such great entertainers. We booked them for our drinks reception through to the DJ so the whole thing was seamless and flowed easily. The set up was quick and they even shared a microphone with my husband when he wanted to sing his speech! I highly recommend them to any couples looking for a fun and lively band on their special day.

We had Black Tye for our wedding. We got the drinks reception, band and dj. The drinks reception instrumental was relaxing and perfect for our guests as we wanted to leave the band singing for the main event. The band had the dance floor full all night long. We would highly recommend Darragh and band for any event. We truly had a memorable evening celebrating.

We had Blacktye for our reception and we loved it. Darragh was great to deal with from the start and always quick to call back or email. We were lucky that this was the date we picked from the start so there was no change but Darragh maintained communication throughout. On the night of the wedding, they had everyone entertained young and old. The dancefloor was full all night and everyone the next day was complimenting the band. Blacktye were recommended to us by a family member and we were delighted we went with them for our wedding! We got them for our reception and DJ and they had everyone up dancing all night. They were really interactive on the night, and played anything we asked for, even rapping gangsta’s paradise which was personal highlight! Darragh was a pleasure to deal with, and would recommend them without hesitation if you’re looking to get everyone up partying.

Blacktye were a really great wedding band and really flexible and accommodating we had to change dates from 2020 to 2021. They had the dance floor full from start to finish and learnt our first dance song with only weeks to go to our wedding. They also stepped in last minute to do our ceremony music too which was a really wonderful addition to our outdoor ceremony on the cliffs of Moher… overall, a very talented group of musicians with a great manager in Darragh!

Wow!! There aren't enough superlatives to describe this band. From the planning stage with Darragh, the emails and phonecalls- changing dates twice and venue, nothing was a problem - to the day, they were amazing. We had them perform our ceremony music which they performed perfectly.....even with our not so mainstream songs....and the afters they lit the place up! We had a great mix of music tastes at the wedding and they catered for all, from a waltz to Beastie Boys! They really can play anything and Darragh really knows how to read the crowd to keep feet on the dancefloor. They were so good the crowd asked us to get them to play on longer, which they did despite being over 4 hours from home. Even with only 25 guests they really made the night amazing and kept the dancing going all night....even my uncle in his 70s got going for Jump Around!! ???? The vocals and musical talent is unbelievable and it felt like we were at a concert! All the guests were asking us who the band were and we are still getting texts praising them and asking how we found them. Darragh also did the DJ set and literally played anything we wanted. Cannot recommend these guys enough.....if you're getting married BOOK THEM.

Hands down the best wedding band I've ever seen, Blacktye are very talented, energetic and dynamic musicians. They played at our ceremony, reception and for the evening and the range of songs that they could play was incredible. We asked for a very specific song for walking down the aisle and they pulled it off with ease. It sounded amazing, exactly like the original song. I was so impressed with Darragh's professionalism throughout, he was incredibly supportive and went over and above to help us during a very uncertain and at times challenging period (organising a wedding during COVID-19), that really meant a lot to us. Blacktye kept everyone on the dance floor for the entire night and somehow managed to get the whole wedding party into a conga line - which was definitely one of the most memorable moments of the night. They read the crowd expertly and they catered for all ages even the kids. People are still talking about them weeks later, watch out for these guys they're fantastic!

Blacktye are an excellent band with a real choice of instruments and singers. This is why we booked them. They had our dance floor full from start to finish and we only had 25 guests. I would highly recommend them.

Hey Darragh, as we're back in Seattle now I just wanted to send a quick note to thank you for everything! You had an incredibly tough week and still managed to come to Cork and make our day. The First dance was great, apparently we looked incredibly focused, our dance teacher would kill us lol. I also liked how you spotted when we were teaching Irish dancing and put on Riverdance, nice! What can I say, these guys absolutely rocked it. There really are no words to describe how great Darragh and the guys were, with amazing remixes right through to how they managed to get the grasp of our crowd from the get go - that was seriously impressive. These guys honestly made the day and we were completely worn out from the (horrific!) dancing (sorry you had to witness that!) - our muscles are still sore to this day... We have had so many people asking us who the band were and for contact numbers/details which we have happily passed on. There are a couple of Scottish ones that have been asking do they travel too...! All in all, what a day made by the best band & DJ ever. So thank you guys for making it one hell of a party! Will 100% be getting them booked again - with a series of 30th birthdays coming up we'll no doubt be having Blacktye at the helm. Black Tye was such a great addition to our wedding day. They kept people on the floor all night and all of our guests complimented us on our choice. Blacktye were absolutely brilliant. The amount of people including myself that had to look up at different stages to see if they we’re actually singing or if ye were kidding us all by putting on an amazing pre recorded version was crazy. And that’s a testament to the quality that ye displayed and I’m sure continue to display. As the groom we just wanted to thank Darragh and Blacktye for being the perfect band and DJ for our wedding. We had a ball. The band is unbelievable talented and versatile and were outstanding. The songs they selected and performed were perfect and we couldn’t have asked for a better band or set of guys to help us celebrate and get the party started. We have heard this band twice and they were absolutely fantastic on both occasions. On our wedding day they catered for everyone. The whole dance floor was full all night long. There was a brief moment when the dance floor did start to empty but they changed it up again and people were back out straight away. These guys definitely know what they are doing and are the best band I've witnessed at a wedding ever.

Your cover of Starlight for our first dance was phenomenal and such an amazing start to filling our dance floor for the whole night. The only word I can use to describe this band is awesome. From the moment they started they had everyone on their feet from very young to old they played something for everyone and there was never a moment that the floor was empty. Everyone from the night said how brilliant they were and even down to the dj part of the night it was still a massive hit where nobody wanted it to end. I would definitely say if you are having your wedding to book this band. They made the evening for us. Thanks Darragh and crew.

Darragh was extremely helpful from the time we booked the band up until our last minute questions during the week of the wedding. We didn't have a specific playlist in mind so Darragh suggested we let him read the room and it was a great suggestion. From the first song the band played to the end of the dj set, Blacktye had the entire room dancing and having an amazing experience. Blacktye played music from all genres with their own great spin on it. Me and my wife could not be happier with how the night went and we would be more than happy to recommend them to anyone. 5 star band.

We have only great things to say about Blacktye! Getting a great wedding band was one of our highest priorities when planning our wedding and we put loads of research into it, so having seen Blacktye at a wedding previously and then also at their showcase we knew they were amazing. However they still blew us away on the night! If you're looking for a band that cater for everyone and get the place absolutely rocking, they're the band for you! We're big 90s fans and Blacktye have such an amazing 90s setlist if that's your thing. They were also brilliant in the weeks coming up to the wedding fielding all my silly questions and having chats about the setlist. We had them as our DJ as well and they were top notch, absolute pros at reading a dance floor! A friend has them booked for their wedding soon and we can't wait to see them again! :)

Blacktye are simply amazing, a blast, a hoot and a fantastic band. My wife and I booked Blacktye four our wedding and couldn't be happier. Darragh and the lads are a pleasure to work with and made our day that extra little bit special. We'd recommend Blacktye to anyone in an instance.

Hi Darragh, What can I say..... Absolutely brilliant!! Thanks so much for everything on our wedding day. We appreciated everything you and the band did for us on the day and on the lead up to the wedding.....in particular to picking songs and last minute changes! We were a little apprehensive a first booking as we only managed to make one showcase to see you playing when we booked the ba D initally. But we were absolutely blown away on the day, to the song choices, the interaction with us and the guests and the lovely personel touches. The dance floor was full for the night everyone was out dancing and having fun. So many guests commented on how good the band were. Great mix of music to suit all ages. Not only was there a few sore heads the next day but nearly everyone had sore feet from dancing. We saw se people up dancing that we haven't seen up dancing in years. I honestly think that Blacktye are the best wedding band in Ireland! We went to a live showcase and loved their sound. They were incredibly flexible in learning our first dance song. The dance floor was packed all night long. Their performance at the drinks was perfect. Moreover, they were very exceptional value for the package we went for. I would 100% recommend having them play at your wedding.

Black tye were incredible , I decided last minute I wanted to move the wedding outside as it was summer time and they oblidged no problem , it was a magical first dance on the green at Ballymagarvey. Music was epic , highly recommend them X

Blacktye are more than a run-of-the mill wedding band. They are a real band that have such a good rapport with one another on stage it shines through and adds to the atmosphere. There is no awkwardness or cringeyness about them which we hsd found with other wedding bands that we went to see.They are so comfortable on stage I felt I had nothing to worry about. They were very entertaining all night long and their energy was infectious.They could read the crowd so well and played something for everybody from waltzes to raves! It was such a delight seeing my mother run to find her sister to waltz or jive to a particular song they might have loved as teenagers. She was so impressed and is still talking about it 3 weeks on. I feel like we were so lucky to have found them and would highly recommend Blacktye.

We booked Blacktye from Australia. We never got to see them perform live but we took a risk and my goodness did it pay off. Darragh was helpful all the way through and I felt very relaxed. Guys - You are by far the best band I have ever seen. A group of seriously talented musicians who are flawless. The mix of male and female voices, and the unexpected rapping was a treat. You got everyone on the dance floor and knew exactly how to work the crowd. Our guests haven’t stopped talking about the band. You had amazing interaction with the crowd and were the icing on the cake! You truly made our day and we will forever be grateful. We booked them for the drinks reception, band and DJ. Blacktye were amazing as our wedding band - they are so eclectic in the music they do, and do so well, they read the crowd brilliantly and kept us dancing and the floor filled all night long - it was simply amazing. They played off the crowd well too, without being cringy, and basically rocked the house all night. I had Blacktye for the entire day, for my ceremony through to the late night DJ, and again, all was brilliant. Ceremony music went swimmingly, with my 'surprise, secret' song for coming down the aisle 'At last' being sung superbly by Kim. My only issue in dealing with Blacktye were that there were changes in the band line up between when I booked (admittedly about 2 years in advance) and when the wedding was, and I found out through facebook rather than being notified. I would have appreciated being told directly. Thankfully, the eventual lineup that was at our wedding were fantastic as outlined above. Bottom line, highly recommended!

My husband and I were lucky enough to book Darragh and the gang for our big day last week. They were so great that we felt sad to leave the reception to have to go and get our photos done, was too busy enjoying the music! All of Blacktye are just so friendly and accommodating, almost wish I could do it all over again just to hear them play. Would 100% recommend to anyone, they are worth every penny! Thanks again xx

Well what can i say. The band were amazing from start to finish. Darragh and Kim sang at the ceremony in the chapel and played the songs we requested perfectly. Our guests all raved about the band and music they played. They read the crowd perfectly for older and younger generations and don't think the dance floor was ever empty. They had a few surprises for the groom which added to the magic. Could not recommend these guys enough. They were simply brilliant. Darragh also gives some free pre marital advice before hand. Ha ha

Blacktye were fantastic to deal with - we were delighted with them from the very first call with Darragh! On the day, the band were excellent - lovely music at the wedding ceremony and reception and an absolutely stellar set for the evening do. This band rock! This is co-incidentally my second cousins wedding who had Blacktye Wedding Band and I enjoyed them as much this time as last. They play everything, both male and female vocals, great entertainers, crowd interaction which got me to ditch the heels and don the fip flops so I could really let loose on the dance floor. Darragh and the rest of the Blacktye band were absolutely lovely to deal with. I booked them for the full day and they were so accommodating in requests made by ourselves and our guests. They are all very talented and wonderful people. The pricing was fair and suited our budget- remember with a band and food you need to pay for good quality- as they are the two things people remember. They were so good I know a couple of brides to be at my own wedding that were interested in booking them for their big day. We found it really difficult to choose a wedding band as it's so hard to tell how the showcase will translate on the night. But Blacktye were absolutely brilliant. For us, the big thing was that they were fun and energetic - it's really clear from the videos on their Facebook page that they know how to keep the dancefloor full all night. They really didn't disappoint and I would so highly recommend them if you are looking for an entertaining, fun band who are great musicians and know how to interact with the crowd. Darragh was so helpful to deal with on every aspect of things and always happy to answer questions or be flexible to whatever we needed. The band were super professional on the night and worked really hard. Our dinner ended earlier than expected so they probably played for a longer time than usual but managed to keep the floor full and the tempo up all night. The music at the drinks reception was really great too. All of our guests really enjoyed them - it was so much fun, they are so decent and hardworking, I would really recommend them for your big day.

You were a treat to deal with, nothing was too much trouble and you delivered an amazing show. Except the dirty dancing bit, which drained every drop of blood from my body immediately. But i know everyone else really enjoyed it from the snapchat responses. I use the word "enjoy" ironically. We recently got married on the 3rd of June and had Blacktye at our wedding. We had emailed a few bands prior to finding Blacktye but I think what really got our attention at the start with Blacktye (apart from the amazing youtube videos and website!) was the promptness and professionalism of the emails right from the very start! We received so many compliments from our guests on the day on the music, nobody left the dance floor all evening! We have so far recommended this band to 3 different couple who are getting married over the next 12 months and will be recommending them in future!

Darragh and the lads were great from start to finish. They even agreed to travel to the north tip of Ireland for our wedding. The booking was easy and they contacted us a few weeks before the wedding to confirm everything, which was very reassuring. Our guests loved them- people didnt leave the dancefloor and they even palyed the Fresh Prince of Belair song which was a massive hit with everyone. The mix of female and male vocalists is unusal in a wedding band and works so well, this was our favourite thing about Blacktye. Would highly recommend to friends!!

Blacktye are everything you look for in a wedding band! They cover all bases, from Irish music to Abba, hits from the 90's, current chart hits and everything in between!!! We knew we had hit the jackpot when we saw their repertoire, but we were still blown away by them on our wedding day. Our dance floor was full, they are fantastic singers, great craic, with a few surprises thrown in and all our guests were raving about them!!!! Book blacktye before your date is snapped up!! Can't recommend Blacktye enough. Darragh was quick to reply via phone and email which was so useful when trying to plan a wedding in Ireland from England. They learnt a song we wanted as a first dance and my husband loved playing an impromptu song with them on the night!

Everyone was extremely complimentary about this band for our wedding last year and we found them to be flexible, friendly and great fun. I would recommend Blacktye to anyone looking for a really good, crowd-pleasing, dance-inspiring band. The fact that they also played during the ceremony, after the reception, and did the DJ set makes them great value for money too!

Fab to deal with over the phone and by email. Very quick with replies. Amazing coming up to the day. Darragh gave great advice on every aspect of the music and timing. Fantastic group. I’m posting a review here for the wedding band I had. They were simply fantastic from start to finish. They are called Blacktye and were recommended to me by Ballymagarvery Village. I was planning to have my special day there but in the end decided on a marquee at my house. To me the music really makes the day and Blacktye did everything perfect. I went to one of their showcases and booked them that night. Darragh is so easy to deal with and has a wealth of experience when it comes to weddings. I was telling him what way I’d like the reception music to go but he recognised a few flaws that would disrupt the dancing and so asked me to trust him. I did and the dance floor was full the whole night. Not only did they do the evening music they did the ceremony and drinks reception too. I had a guitar and female vocals at the ceremony. It was beautiful. We had a funny little incident at the ceremony too. The best man forgot the rings!! He was lucky he had only left them in his car! That didn’t faze the musicians though. They jumped straight in with a song to keep us entertained. For the drinks reception they played swing instrumental which I loved. The night went so fast after that. When the band finally finished, after 2 encores insisted upon by my screaming guests, Darragh did DJ and we finished the night away on the dance floor. I can’t recommend Blacktye highly enough. They are stress free, funny and very experienced musicians and made my day! Thank you Blacktye.

We had Blacktye provide our music for the entire day of our wedding: from church (beautiful soprano and accompaniment); drinks reception (hit the perfect tone); 5 piece band and DJ afterwards....wow! Faultless throughout the day, extremely versatile and catered amazingly well with a smaller more intimate group later on. If they're available, book them for your wedding day, you won't be disappointed!

We hired Blacktye to provide music for our entire wedding day on September 20th - the ceremony, drinks receptions, band+DJ. Choosing a good band was highly important to us but it was also quite difficult, as we got married in Ireland but live abroad. We had to rely on word of mouth and luckily for us, a friend recommended Blacktye. From the beginning, our chats with Daragh inspired nothing but confidence. He was happy to talk at length about what general vibe as well as what specific music we wanted, to make sure we were happy. They have a range of packages that I imagine would suit everybody and he helped us choose ours. This was all hugely helpful with us not being in the country and not having the option of attending a showcase. We really had to put our trust in them and we're so happy we did because they were awesome! From the moment I walked down the aisle until all the girls were dancing in their flats in the wee hours, they rocked the house. Blacktye are hugely talented and versatile. Our ceremony was beautiful and they had no problem letting us choose all our own songs, and learning and perfecting them in record time.They were a hit with the guests too and kept them entertained while not imposing with some jazzy background music during the drinks reception, then made sure the dancefloor was filled all night with a great mix of tunes and good banter. I genuinely can't fault them and would get them booked ASAP if I were anyone planning a wedding in the future.

Hi everyone I heard Blacktye for the first time last Sat,night 1st March at a 40th birthday in the Hibernian Club in Dublin . I have heard many wedding and party bands but I can say Blacktye were the finest band I have ever heard.

You managed to create the perfect atmosphere from the meaningful music during the ceremony to the background jazz at the drinks reception, to the upbeat party atmosphere of the band and DJ. The dance floor was full all night and everyone commented on how good the music was. Even changing into my flats didn't help my sore feet from all the dancing! I just didn't want to leave the dance floor! We would recommend Blacktye without hesitation to anyone looking for a band. The are simply brilliant!

The music was just perfect and the band were all a great laugh and everyone dancing on the floor and were great at getting the crowd going! I was the best man at the wedding in Kilronan and I cannot compliment them enough as out of all the weddings I have been too they have been by far the best band I have ever seen at a wedding and I will definitely be recommending them to everyone and hopefully when my own day comes I will be able to get them too!! :) :D
