Jo was great to deal with from start to finish. We cannot fault her in anyway. The guests all said it was the best ceremony they were at with the love story being the highlight of ceremony for both the guests and us. Jo let the day flow really well even when the lively guests joined in to sing as we were signing the register.

Where to even begin with how fantastic Jo was for our wedding!! We had the idea to do a birthday lunch and suprise our family with a wedding so a little different from the norm but from the very first phone call with Jo she listened and worked with us to iron out all the fine details with suggestions and ideas along the way with lots of laughs. The effort behind the scenes she put in to make everything go to plan was phenomenal. Then on the day she was just so calm and how she made everything flow was what everyone was talking about. I have to mention her attention to detail how she wove our story together was just fantastic and we couldn't have asked for anymore. If you are looking for a celebrant then you will not be sorry booking Jo, there aren't enough words to use to say how amazing she is.

Jo was just incredible! From start to finish she was just amazing. She was so helpful from the get go, no question was left unanswered! She was kind and reassuring and most of all she loved to talk about dogs (just like us). We came across Jo on instagram and that really gave us a feel for her work, she really engages on social media and we think that’s very important in this day and age. We felt she was relatable and works with couples of every age group. On the day of our wedding Jo had everything down to a fine art, my now husband and groomsmen did a quick run through everything before I arrived and as my husband says they “had a bit of craic”. I then met Jo in the hallway before I went into the ceremony room and she had every detail perfect for the ceremony. Our ceremony was fun but yet very intimate and meaningful. We didn’t want a long ceremony and the timing was just perfect but in no way rushed. Jo didn’t rush off after our ceremony, we chatted afterwards and got some photos taken. Our family and friends are still talking about our ceremony. We wouldn’t change a thing and can 100% recommend Jo. If we could give a thousand stars we would ⭐️

Jo made our day so incredibly easy. She preps like a Queen & makes the day so unique & special. Well where do I begin. From the first phone call with Jo, myself and Luke felt completly at ease as if we knew Jo years. She was so professional and felt she really wanted to know more about us and our story. We got married in the Talbot Hotel on the 08th November 2025 and every wedding guest said the same thing about the ceremony and that was how amazing our celebrant Jo was. The ceremony was so personal and how she described our love story was as if I was telling it myself. Jo had done everything we asked for and more. I couldn't have got through the ceremony without her, literally!!
Please anyone who reads this review I promise you will not regret having this woman as your celebrant she will be all the guests talk about for the day, apart from the bride lol. We love you Jo and best of luck in the future.

We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better celebrant than Jo! From our very first call, she was so warm, genuine, and easy to talk to — we instantly felt at ease and knew we were in safe hands. We will always remember with great joy and happiness our wedding day in Newbay House. We were unbelievably blessed to have a celebrant of the calibre of Jo McAteer. We knew when we first met her that everything would be perfect on our big day. Jo is amazingly cool and so professional in how she worked with Pauline and I. Nothing was left to chance but equally she showered us with surprises all through the ceremony. We were both made to feel at ease on our big day.
We were amazed with the beautiful ceremony she created for us. The tying of the hands was special as was the sharing of the Quaker drink to seal the deal.

In the run up to our wedding it got to that time when we had to find a celebrant. We didn't really know what to do or how to go about it, so my then fiancée at the time was Googling about it and up popped Jo and her reviews were what made us contact her. Oh man where we delighted we did.

The first time I saw Jo was on a video call three days before my wedding and then I met her on the day. What you need to understand is Jo gives off this amazing positive energy that makes you feel like you've known her for 10 years and it made everything so much easier, coming from a grooms perspective it helped calm the nerves. Jo went through everything with us from stories, poems, readings to lighting candles. She covered everything and made what sounded like a lot- so simple and stress free.

Combined with the "homework" we had to do she made a beautiful ceremony that to this day people are still talking about. Honestly I'll never stop talking about it. She takes her job very seriously and it shows with the love and care she puts into it. Trust me when I say this you definitely won't be disappointed with her. Jo was an amazing celebrant, she calmed all our nerves and delivered such a personal ceremony! During the lead up, she answered all our questions and interpreted our love stories so well, it’s as if she’d known us for years! We are so grateful for the time you took to understand our wishes especially incorporating part of the bonding ceremony in dad’s garden. Deirbhile and I can count ourselves extremely lucky to have found Jo to be our wedding celebrant.

From the outset, Jo put us at ease immediately. The first time we spoke, we spent nearly an hour on a video call before we had even booked - and it was because of Jo’s genuine interest in us as a couple.

Our ceremony was the highlight of so many of our guests day - people were still mentioning it to us on the dancefloor later that night and at our day two. Jo’s preparation is second to none, and the personal touches she added to our ceremony were just so special.

Well what can I say about Jo. We got married on 3rd June 2023 in Ashdown Hotel, Gorey. From day one Jo guided us through the whole process. She made our wedding service all about myself and Declan and our love story. We had to write our love story and not show each other what we had written until Jo read them out during the ceromony. She brought fun and entertainment to our service. Our favourite part of the ceromony was definitely the hand tie fasting. A lot of our friends and families had never been to a civil ceromony before and said it was a beautiful ceromony made all the more special by Jo. She made everyone feel relaxed all guests thoroughly enjoyed the ceromony.
