Honestly could not fault Jo at all she is the most loveliest woman so easy going and truly cares about making your ceremony as intimate and personal as she can. From the very beginning, Jo supported us through every step of the planning process and helped us create a ceremony that truly reflected who we are. As a Polish-American couple getting married in Ireland, we wanted to honour our own traditions while also including an Irish element. Thanks to Jo, we had a beautiful ceremony that included the fun Polish vodka vs. water custom, a chuppah that we built ourselves followed by the Jewish tradition of breaking the glass, and an Irish handfasting with coloured ribbons.

Jo was incredible! She was very reassuring before the ceremony, we were well prepped in the lead up to the big day. She provided all the relevent info and helped us create a ceremony that was well set out but that was personal to us. We had initially thought we would not do any rituals and Jo talked us in to doing 4! Which all worked so well and engaged our friends and family. The ribbon hand tie was a great success. On the day she was completely on her game, was relaxed, endearing, funny, engaging, personal, but alway professional and always on point. We could not recommend her more!

We left choosing our celebrant until the very end because I knew I wanted someone who felt absolutely perfect for us, and Jo exceeded every expectation.

From our very first call, she put so much effort into getting to know us as a couple. Between all the calls, texts and chats, by the time our wedding came around she genuinely felt more like a friend than just our celebrant.

Nothing was ever too much trouble. We changed and added bits to our ceremony along the way and Jo was always so accommodating. She even helped me source our wedding candles, which was such a thoughtful thing to do.

On the day itself, she went above and beyond. Jo was just incredible! From start to finish she was just amazing. She was so helpful from the get go, no question was left unanswered! She was kind and reassuring and most of all she loved to talk about dogs (just like us). We came across Jo on instagram and that really gave us a feel for her work, she really engages on social media and we think that’s very important in this day and age. We felt she was relatable and works with couples of every age group. On the day of our wedding Jo had everything down to a fine art, my now husband and groomsmen did a quick run through everything before I arrived and as my husband says they “had a bit of craic”. I then met Jo in the hallway before I went into the ceremony room and she had every detail perfect for the ceremony. Our ceremony was fun but yet very intimate and meaningful. We didn’t want a long ceremony and the timing was just perfect but in no way rushed. Jo didn’t rush off after our ceremony, we chatted afterwards and got some photos taken. Words cant describe what Jo puts into making your day special. EVERYONE enjoyed the ceremony and all commented on how personal it was. (Not to mention how Jo managed to keep a very nervous groom calm). WE COULDNT RECOMMEND THIS LADY ENOUGH

In the run up to our wedding it got to that time when we had to find a celebrant. We didn't really know what to do or how to go about it, so my then fiancée at the time was Googling about it and up popped Jo and her reviews were what made us contact her. Oh man where we delighted we did.

The first time I saw Jo was on a video call three days before my wedding and then I met her on the day. What you need to understand is Jo gives off this amazing positive energy that makes you feel like you've known her for 10 years and it made everything so much easier, coming from a grooms perspective it helped calm the nerves. Jo went through everything with us from stories, poems, readings to lighting candles. She covered everything and made what sounded like a lot- so simple and stress free.

Combined with the "homework" we had to do she made a beautiful ceremony that to this day people are still talking about. Honestly I'll never stop talking about it. She takes her job very seriously and it shows with the love and care she puts into it. Trust me when I say this you definitely won't be disappointed with her. When we first met Jo, we knew we had found the perfect celebrant for our big day. Organising a wedding abroad has its challenges but Jo made the ceremony planning easy and enjoyable. She also had lots of ideas of how make it as unique and personal to us as possible, such as the traditional Irish handfasting. Our wedding on 31st August 2025 at the Ashdown Park Hotel, Gorey was made truly unforgettable thanks to Jo McAteer. Joe brought the perfect blend of organisation, humour, and heartfelt energy to our ceremony. She kept us calm, kept everything running smoothly, and kept our guests entertained from the moment she began.
Joe guided us beautifully through the 5 tie infinity knot, turning it into a meaningful and emotional moment we and all our guests will always remember. She also led our whiskey sharing Quaich with such warmth and fun. We had requested a fun, light hearted, wedding celebration and Jo truly delivered. Fun became one of the standout highlights of the day, with every guest having to find the wedding rings hidden in the room, all guests experienced the best fun wedding they ever attended.
