I’m Ruthanna, a freelance makeup artist with 16 years experience in the industry, specialising in Bridal Make-up and Wedding Day Make up. I am based in Bandon, Co. Cork but I travel all over Munster to enhance my brides' beauty. For your convenience, I can travel to you for the trial also (mileage fees may apply)

For all brides, I recommend a makeup trial a couple of months in advance of the wedding. The trial is so you can decide what look you want to achieve and what products suit you best. My makeup kit contains only the best quality products.

I recently had Ruthanna for my wedding! I can’t thank her enough for the fantastic work she did for myself and the bridal party. We ranged from younger to mature skin. Ruthanna’s experience and knowledge is second to none! She had everyone looking their best and enhanced all our features. Our make up lasted all night and looked perfect, I didn’t even need to touch up! Her personality is so calm and she is beautiful inside and out. I came across Ruthanna through my photographer's podcast. Her knowledge and experience spilled over in abundance.
We did multiple trials as I wanted a bridesmaid trial too and I was totally blown away.
Ruthanna was warm and personable and dedicated to achieving the desired look and she 100% delivered with all 7 of us. I obviously wanted to look my best on the day but my concern was looking too made up as I don't wear makeup regularly but I need not have worried, Ruthanna had me feeling fabulous and it lasted until we stopped at 5am!
There are not enough stars to give. Totally amazing.

Ruthanna was absolutely fantastic. From the trial to the big day it all went so smoothly.
She took into account what look I wanted and adapted it to fit my features. I had a lovely warm look that lasted all day. My makeup never felt heavy but when I went to take it off at 4am there was still plenty left.
My bridal party's make up was also flawless. Ruthanna was able to give all of them a cohesive but individual look, and we all felt very comfortable on the morning getting ready.
10/10, would recommend her to anyone and everyone.

Ruthanna was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. So warm, friendly, calm and professional, nothing was a problem and boy does she know her makeup.
On my wedding day, my skin was glowing and my make-up was so well done. Plenty of coverage without being in any way over the top. I felt totally me albeit a better job of make-up me. And what's more, my bridesmaids were delighted with Ruthanna aswell, they couldn't believe how well they looked.
Importantly, Ruthanna is a calming influence that you want around on the morning of your wedding. Nothing is stressful and you can trust her with your life that make-up will be done to an amazing standard. Everyone said I looked stunning on my wedding day! Thanks Ruthanna!!!!!

Ruthanna was so lovely to have for my wedding in July 2022. She was super organised and professional prior. A lovely calming presence on the day while doing an amazing job. I felt she really listened to how I normally do make up and what I wanted for the day. My family loved her as well.

Ruthanna is a wonderfully talented make-up artist and she was the perfect person to spend the morning of my wedding with! She was the very first make-up artist I contacted when we started planning the wedding, and I was thrilled that she was available for my date. Ruthanna has such a positive attitude and has a very calming way about her, all the while enjoying the craic with whoever is around! Ruthanna's professionalism was evident in the run up to the wedding as she was always very easy to communicate with and was on hand to answer any questions/queries and address any skin concerns. You can tell her experience is second to none as she knows exactly what will suit the varying skin types. Ruthanna is also hugely knowledgeable with regards to what products are currently on the market and where you can purchase the different items to suit your budget. I absolutely loved my wedding make-up! and my mother and bridesmaids felt the same. Ruthanna is an absolute pro and was so brilliant from first contact to the trial and the morning of the wedding. She did makeup for 7 people and was so efficient and put us all at ease, everyone was delighted with their makeup, and it lasted all day and well into the night. I have dry skin with red patches and she somehow managed to cover everything beautifully without looking like I was wearing a lot of makeup. Ruthanna was such a kind, calming presence on the day and we all loved chatting to her, she is so knowledgeable about skin care and makeup and gave me some great tips and recommendations which have really improved my skin. Ruthanna is an amazing makeup artist and person and I couldn't recommend her highly enough!

I highly recommend Ruthanna for bridal make-up! She put me at ease straight away during the bridal trial. I loved the way that she did my makeup. She even gave me some suggestions about affordable products I could use in the lead-up to the big day, so that my make-up would sit well and my skin would be hydrated.
Looking back at photos, I love that I look like myself! My makeup lasted all day. It was a wild and windy day, so it was down to Ruthanna's expertise that it stayed on all day and into the night.
My mam and my bridesmaids also looked beautiful! All of us loved her calming vibe.

Ruthanna was the make up artist at my wedding in Cork in October and she was absolutely fantastic! I knew straight away when I met Ruthanna at the trial that I could put my full trust in her and she would take very good care of me and the bridesmaids on the wedding day! We were all delighted with our make up on the day and it made the morning really relaxing and enjoyable. Ruthanna was absolutely fab.
I had acne as a teenager and as a result I have some scarring and large pores. She was so helpful during my trial and made me feel so at ease.
I was pretty specific with certain aspects of how I wanted my makeup and she was brilliant, and she was great help with the the rest and finding what way was going to make me feel the most beautiful.
On the day of the wedding she made everyone feel at ease and was able to give us tips on self care. She even gave us little cotton buds etc in case there were tears... which there were.
I have never felt more beautiful than I did on my wedding day; and my bride squad were stunning too.

She is an excellent make up artist and I would really recommend her.
I was delighted with my make up and also with the personalised attention I got.
Ruthanna asked my preference, what my skin was like and throughout the makeup application was happy to answer questions and also checked in with me as she progressed as to what I thought of the make up, did I want more or less etc.

Ruthanna is fantastic, she does the most beautiful makeup but also entertains, chats, laughs, makes everyone at ease and adds something special to the wedding morning when getting ready. I loved having her there and I was absolutely thrilled with my makeup, as were my bridesmaids, my mum, my aunt, my sister in law....she had a busy morning but was calm, thoughtful and thorough throughout. I would 100% recommend her, and just sad we can't do it all again!

From the initial booking, to the trial, to the morning of tje wedding, Ruthanna was absolutely fantastic to work with. Ruthanna is such a lovely person and brilliant at her job'she clearly loves what she does!! There were six of us for makeup the morning of my wedding. Being the bride, she scheduled me in 2nd so that she could come back to me for a touch up at the end but she gave all of us the same time and attention and we were delighted with the results. She also gave us advice about our skin and products while she worked which was really handy?I've used those tips since! I would highly recommend Ruthanna, you will not be disappointed!!

I Recently Booked Ruthanna to do my Make-UP for my Son's Wedding. How Lucky was I to find her. What an amazing Lady. Even when I had to change the Date due to the Wedding being brought forward before the Second Lockdown, nothing was a problem for her. She arrived at our house early morning with her Bag of Tricks. She also found a wonderful Lady called Kim to come and do my Hair and also my Sister's. What lovely Ladies to work with. Face Masks and Hand Sanitizing were the order of the day. They were so Professional and so easy to chat to. I received amazing Compliments on my Make-Up at the Wedding and also my Hair. I felt like a millon dollars. I can't speak highly enough of Ruthanna and i would highly recommend her.

Ruthanna is an absolute professional and I am so happy she was there to guide me through the wedding process! From the first contact with her to navigating through COVID times she was a pleasure to deal with. She uses high quality products and her finish is flawless. She listened to exactly the look I was hoping for and I was so so so pleased with the outcome. She was such an asset to have on the morning of and she brought a sense of calm to everyone. Ruthanna was an absolute dream. I'm so grateful for everything, not only for the gorgeous makeup for everyone the morning of, but for the kind words and support in the lead up. 2020 weddings have been far from easy, but Ruthanna has such a positive, calming way. She made the whole thing so easy. We all felt so confident and beautiful. In terms of COVID and safety Ruthanna was incredibly prepared and all of our makeup lasted the entire night despite the masks and happy tears. I truly cannot recommend her enough x

I couldn't recommend Ruthanna highly enough. We had to move our wedding forward a week at the last minute & limit it to just some immediate family, due to the Covid-19 virus. This was a very stressful decision but when I contacted Ruthanna a few days beforehand she melted away alot of that stress. She came to my house that morning to do my make up & hair ( Ruthanna doesn't usually do hair, however everyone commented on how fab my hair was, so another string to her bow! ) She took all the safety precautions necessary, but she still made the morning fun and relaxed. A real Fairy Godmother! My makeup & hair was amazing & I'll definitely book her when we eventually have our party!

5 stars!!! Ruthanna done the make up for my wedding on Saturday 14th December! I can't thank her enough!! I absolutely loved my make up it was so natural and it covered all the redness. I was so comfortable with it. Everyone commented how great the coverage was and how natural it looked. I was so happy with it. Everyone in the bridal party loved they're make up. We had 2 little flower girls who she kept occupied when we were running around. Everyone felt so comfortable with her. If anyone is ever looking for a make up artist for their big day I won't be able to recommend Ruthanna highly enough. She is asking at what she does. Aside from the make Ruthanna has helped me so much with my skin. I had very red, sore, bumpy, itchy, burning skin on my face and at my make up trial and Ruthanna gave me tips to improve my skin. All inexpensive supplements and cream. I have gone to dermatologist doctors everyone I could find to help me and she was the first person who listened to me when I said it was coming from my stomach issues. Since my trial I have been taking the supplements and using the cream Ruthanna suggested and it is so much better. It is something I'm going to continue doing. Aside from feeling beautiful on my wedding day thanks to her fantastic work, I feel less self conscious in my day to day life all thanks to Ruthanna. I am so grateful for everything.

I had the most amazing wedding morning team which included Ruthanna on makeup! Ruthanna is so professional, calm, bubbly and full of knowledge! She was easy going but yet a perfectionist. She really made me look my best on my big day! The makeup was flawless and settled beautifully. Ruthanna on the day was a pleasure to have around and from the beginning worked with my skin and recommended products for the run up to the wedding which helped with that overall glow! Not forgetting looking after dry lips with braces. Thank you for making me and my bridal party look amazing.

I hate getting my makeup done and dreaded trying to find someone for my wedding day. I have often removed makeup and redone myself in the past so to say I'm picky is an understatement.
When I went to Ruthanna for my makeup trial all my worries left me. She was so fantastic. She did such a great job. My makeup was flawless. Not over or under done... made up well but still looked like myself on my wedding day which was so important to me.
Also I would like to compliment how she did my moms makeup. A mature woman's skin is a totally different ball game and she also did this so so well. It was stunningly done and my mom looked amazing.
Aside from her amazing talents with a makeup brush, Ruthanna is an absolute pleasure to be around. You need to be so sure of the people you invite to spend one of the most important mornings with you and your bridal party. Ruthanna is such a lovely person, a total lady and very kind hearted. Having Ruthanna around on my wedding morning is a memory I will always cherish. She is one of my stand out suppliers for my wedding and my sister has also booked her for her own upcoming wedding this year!

Ruthanna was an absolute pleasure to deal with in the lead up and on the day of our wedding! My entire bridal party were delighted with our make up which was flawless and lasted all night. Ruthanna was excellent in advising and recommending what best suited us each as individuals & was much more than just a MUA on the day, adding to a relaxed & enjoyable atmosphere. Ruthanna was recommended to me by a friend for bridal make up and I'm so thrilled I was lucky enough to secure a booking with her for my wedding. I knew from the trial we were on the same page for the make up look I was going for. Ruthanna travelled to our house on the morning of the wedding so she could do my make up as well as my bridesmaids and Mom as we relaxed and soaked up the atmostphere of the wedding morning. She was such a wonderful addition to the morning and a complete joy to be around. I also loved how natural and effortless my make up looked and it lasted all day and night- given that It was a scorcher of a day too! She is a true professional, fantastic at her job and an absolutely lovely person to top it off. Thank you Ruthanna x

Ruthanna was the first person I thought of when It came to booking a MUA for my wedding and my choice could not have been better! She is truly amazing at what she does and has this beautiful and calming presence that instantly puts you at ease. I had 3 bridesmaids, my mum and grooms mum, Ruthanna took her time with each and chatted effortlessly about what they liked/wanted and created flawless finishes for all of us which lasted all day long. She is an expert at creating natural looking finishes that enhances the beauty of every one she works on. I can't recommend Ruthanna enough, if you are lucky enough to have her do your makeup for any occasion you will not be disappointed.

Ruthanna was so lovely. Had a great chat with her when she was applying my make up. I was a guest for my best friends wedding and a few of us decided to get glammed up. We were so lucky to get Ruthanna. I didn't give much in the way of direction but she instinctively knew that I wanted to look glam and natural at the same time and did a beautiful look achieving both of those requests and the make up lasted all day. We were all so happy with her.

Ruthanna was just absolutely amazing to deal with. From my trial to the morning of the wedding (and numerous emails in between!) she was so professional, helpful and kind. My makeup on the day was so beautiful and it lasted all day and night, I just didn't want to take it off! She is so gifted and talented and was so helpful with advice and tips leading up to the day. I cannot recommend Ruthanna highly enough. She created the most beautiful make up looks for my family, bridesmaids and myself for our wedding. My make up has never been done better - it even lasted all day, which has never happened before (I usually always need touch ups). Ruthanna is a true artist and it's clear to see she is passionate about what she does and genuinely cares for her clients. Ruthanna worked closely with each of us in order to create a look that suited every individual perfectly. I thought she did a particularly wonderful job on my Mum and Aunt who don't wear make up at all. They were absolutely thrilled with their beautiful, natural looking make up. Ruthanna is also an expert in skincare and carefully chose products from her wide range that would suit each of us. Aside from being an amazing make up artist, Ruthanna was a joy to have in our home the morning of the wedding. She made us all feel relaxed and comfortable which was so important with wedding morning jitters. We all left Ruthanna's make up chair feeling beautiful and confident, ready for the big day ahead.

It was a dream to have Ruthanna with us the morning of our wedding. She was so easy going and friendly, she really helped make the house stress free for the morning. Excellent from start to finish. She suggested I had my trial in plenty of time, wish was ideal as we both learned a lot from it. On the morning of the Wedding her professionalism & pleasant attitude left the wedding party relax & confident it was all under control. But most importantly she listened to what I wanted and ensured the makeup suited me and my style. All the Wedding party were delighted with our makeup, as it suited our individual looks and more importantly it lasted, through wind & rain! Ruthanna is a fantastic make up artist. I had one trial with her where she took the time to try out many different products to see what suited my skin and then tried a few looks until I was happy. She was also so helpful in the lead up to the wedding answering any questions I had.
On the morning of the wedding she was just fantastic, she got on so well with everyone and we couldn't have been happier with the make up. It was natural, picture perfect & lasted all the way through. Ruthanna stayed until I left for the church making sure my make up was perfect & my lipstick topped up just before I walked out the door. Can't recommend Ruthanna enough.

Ruthanna was amazing, from the trial right up when we were leaving on the wedding morning. Any questions or queries she was more than helpful! Could not fault ruthanna from the day I had my trial knew exactly what I wanted and achieved fantastic results for myself the bride my mum and bridesmaid on the day. So friendly and easy to talk to and always asks if that's ok at every stage of make up application couldn't recommend highly enough!!

The 1st two things I booked for my wedding were the venue and Ruthanna for my makeup. And I was not disappointed. My friends have had Ruthanna for their wedding makeup and everybody has the same opinion; Ruthanna is professional, so lovely to have around on the wedding morning and her work is amazing, She made my wedding day very special. Ruthanna is and was the sweetest and best mua to have around on my wedding day. She even came out of maternity leave early to do my wedding! Ruthanna is also so highly skilled at what she does, she made everyone of my bridesmaids and even my mum sooo happy with the finished product. Ruthanna is amazing, you could not meet a nicer person to have in your home the morning of your wedding! She is so kind, professional and helpful. She stayed with us till we were ready to go out the door topping up or lippy etc. She listens to what you want and makes sure you are happy. We had previously used Ruthanna for my brother's wedding and thought she was amazing, so once I got engaged I made sure to book her asap so she wouldn't get booked up. Ruthanna is great to have around the morning of the wedding, very calm and keeps the morning moving along without any hassle. Ruthanna is just brilliant!! Not only was the make up for myself, my 2 bridesmaids and my mum immaculate and lasted all day and night, but Ruthanna is great to have on the morning of your wedding. She's very relaxed and helps with lots of things other than the make up. She stayed til right before I left with my dad and was even cleaning up the cups of tea and making sure we had everything we needed for the day.
Would recommend her in a heartbeat!!

Ruthanna is so amazing! She made me look and feel so gorgeous on my wedding day, as well as my bridesmaids and my mother. She was so professional to deal with and brought a lovely calming, friendly and personable atmosphere to the room while she worked. Overall I had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend Ruthanna.

I cannot recommend Ruthanna enough, she was great in the lead up to the wedding and fantastic on the day itself! She is a great person to have in the house on the morning of a wedding and totally put me at ease as I knew she would do her best for me. My bridesmaids and I loved our make up and it stayed perfect for the entire day and night!!

Ruthanna done my make up for my friends wedding who I was Bridemaid for. I have to say she was excellent and really listened to me, ensuring that I was fully happy with it. It was long lasting and the make up looked as good by the end of the night as it did that morning.

Ruthanna was a pleasure to work with.
Very professional and skilled at her work. She gave all my bridal party lots of time and attention Always checking and making sure all were happy with their make up. Our make up was beautifully done We went for a natural look and it lasted all day no touch ups needed.

Ruthanna was absolutely amazing on the day of my wedding! She is a fantastic make up artist who really listens to her bride in order to achieve the look she wants. Not only is she talented at what she does but she has a fabulous personality and goes above and beyond to put her bride at ease and make her feel beautiful on her special day. Would highly recommend Ruthanna to any bride!

Ruthanna was fantastic, I couldn't recommend her highly enough for any occasion. She was professional and reponsive at all times. I loved having my make up done and she made us all feel so comfortable, she was just like part of the family on the wedding morning :) She listened to what we all wanted and I think we all looked pretty good!

Ruthanna is without a doubt one of the most professional and caring individuals I have met. We were so lucky to have her involved in our wedding day. She was a much needed source of calm and reassurance the morning of the wedding. The craic was mighty and we all had such fun together.
Her work is absolutely flawless. My make up was absolutely beautiful and just lasted and lasted. It was still perfect at 2.30 in the morning....which is exactly what you need when you are dancing up a storm in a wedding dress!!!
I feel so lucky to have had her help on my big day..... especially as she is in so much demand! Several of my friends have stated that she is the only person they will consider when the time comes!!!!

When it came to choosing a MUA for my wedding day, there was only one person I thought of and fortunately, Ruthanna was available. Ruthanna came highly recommended from many close friends and family. Not only are her skills amazing but she truly put me at ease as I really was overwhelmed with all the planning and fussing. She was full of invaluable advice and suggestions which really suited what I wanted for my day. I can't recommend her enough! A fabulous service from a truly gifted professional.

Ruthanna was a fabulous addition to my wedding morning. She arrived with her bag of tricks and transformed myself, three bridesmaids, my mum, 2 friends and my aunt. Her attention to enhancing your natural beauty with professional skills and fabulous products is the reason I booked her. I felt stunning on the day and most importantly for me I didn't feel caked in makeup. The makeup lasted the whole day on all of us. Ruthanna makes her brides feel like a star and is very accommodating if someone is awkward. I would recomemmend to anyone and I have.

Ruthanna was such a true professional, from the day I booked her she responded to all my skincare and make up questions promptly and gave the best advice. The day of our trial she explored many options with me and gave advice on what products suited best and what skincare routine to do on the run up to the wedding. On the day of our wedding she really listened to my preferences and I felt I looked the best version of myself on the day. I got amazing complements and our wedding pictures were flawless. Ruthanna was also so supportive and gave great advice and tips throughout the morning while getting ready. Ruthanna is so knowledgeable and an absolutely amazing lady.

Before the wedding day, she very kindly laid out the plan of the day and what to expect.
On the day of the wedding, she was so kind and really helped everyone relax. It was so lovely to have Ruthanna be a part of getting ready. She was kind and genuine and had amazing chats. I learned so much from her. With regards to makeup she was very professional, she ensured that the makeup was specific to the person and was very open to feedback. I cannot praise her enough. I was talking about the lovely experience with my bridesmaids and friends for days after the wedding.
One of the bridesmaid was a bit late arriving and Ruthanna stayed back to complete the makeup and ensured touchups for me and my bridesmaid.
I couldn't recommend Ruthanna enough. She was truly incredible and anyone would be lucky to have her be a part of their day.
