My name is Karen otherwise known as The Makeup Genie. I'm a multi award winning makeup artist from Cork. I have been working in the beauty industry for over 23 years and my speciality is Bridal makeup. As a qualified skin care expert, makeup artist and aesthetician I use these additional skills to assess my clients skin, often prescribing a tailored skincare routine for my brides in the lead up to their weddings. I find this really helps to boost their skins radiance which in turn complements the makeup and helps the makeup to last so much longer.
I tend to find most brides request a natural look with a nice focus on their eye makeup and flawless skin. That said I'm no stranger to doing a Hollywood starlet look or a sultry smokey eye.
On your wedding day I will travel to you at your chosen location. I will set up my mobile makeup studio in a corner of the room and get started.
I bring a calming and professional energy as well as decades of wedding industry experience.
My chosen brands lately are Charlotte Tilbury, Estee Lauder, Inglot, Lancome and Mac.
My high quality products and good skincare advise will ensure your makeup will last until dawn. You will look and feel like the very best version of yourself.
I cover the Cork area and some parts of Munster.
I also offer personalised makeup lessons at my studio in Douglas, Cork.

Karen is an amazing makeup artist but also one of the nicest people you will meet. She enhances your natural features while making sure that your makeup lasts into the wee hours of the morning. Before my trial she gave me great skin advice and by the time my wedding came around, my skin was in the best shape it had ever been! She did 6 makeups on my wedding day and each person looked the very best version of themselves and all loved their makeup. I could have stayed chatting to her all day, she creates a lovely calming atmosphere and it feels like chatting to a friend. Thank you so much Karen!

Karen was such a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. She is an absolute professional and did such a fantastic job on the makeup for my wedding, I just loved it! She had six of us to get through on the morning and she did it with ease. She really made the effort to make sure everybody was happy. I couldn't recommend her more!

Karen was brilliant on the day of my sisters wedding. She did beautiful natural looks for my sister and mum who never wear make up and then went straight into a more dramatic smokey eye and contour for me! She was really lovely, very calm and professional. Would definitely recommend!

Karen was a pleasure to deal with. She is wonderful at her job, I am not a person who wears make up regular and wanted something natural looking for an outdoor wedding. Karen did a fantastic job, my make up felt light and lasted all day and night. Karen also did make up for my mother and sister, who both loved their make up. Karen also put some glitter on my 4 year old daughter who was flower girl, which was really kind of her to include her in our preparations!

I had Karen as my MUA for my wedding back in April and she was absolutely incredible. From the onset she was so responsive and insightful and really put me at ease as I don't normally wear much make up. During my trial, she listened to my concerns and created a beautiful natural dewy look that was so complimentary and long lasting. She was also able to give me skin care recommendations as well as being so much fun. On the big day, Karen arrived out to my house and made sure we were all so comfortable and relaxed. We all had such a laugh, we didn't want to leave! My bridesmaids and my mum were also so delighted with their make up looks. The make up looked incredible for the photographs and lasted well into the small hours of the night. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Karen for her professionalism and expertise.

I was delighted to have Karen as my MUA on my wedding day. She did my make up, my bridesmaid and my mother. My mother and I both went for a natural look while my bridesmaid went for a more glam style - all 3 of us were so happy with how we looked. The make up photographed really well and lasted for the day. I am not used to wearing a lot of make up and Karen listened to my concerns and made sure I had a natural look that I was comfortable with.
She was a pleasure to deal with overall, very responsive and flexible in the run up to the day. I would not hesitate to recommend her.

Karen was absolutely brilliant on our wedding day. She did make up for me, my two bridesmaids and my mam. I did a trial with her beforehand which was great as it gave me the chance to give an input. She was so professional and calm on the wedding day, which is exactly what I needed with wedding morning nerves.I did not have to touch up my make up all day, even after an outdoor wedding in the sun and loads of dancing!! Highly recommend!!

Karen was great! During my makeup trial she encouraged me to give my input so that my look was exactly what I wanted. Between then and my big day she answered all the questions I had. On my wedding day she did my makeup, my mum?s and the 3 girls in my bridal party. She was so friendly and chatty she fit right in with our relaxed atmosphere. I was delighted with my look and it held up and looked fab all day.

Karen was wonderful to work with from start to finish. She really listened to what I wanted and absolutely delivered! Bridesmaids and sisters, who are all as different as chalk and cheese, were just as delighted. They all got exactly what they wanted. The happiest may have been the person she gave a fake-makeover to, the 4 year old flower girl whose day was made when Karen invited her to the make up chair! She was so calm and professional on the morning, highly recommend!! 5*

Karen from the Make Up Genie was second to none. She was very easy to work with and got on well with the whole wedding party. She put everyone at ease immediately. Her selection of make up and very obvious knowledge was outstanding. She is very calming and gives you her full time and attention. Nothing was too much to ask for.
I would gladly recommend The Make Up Genie and if i have any future occassions that require make up i will most definately be using her again.

Karen from the makeup genie was fantastic from the get go, during my makeup trial she listened to what I wanted, offered suggestions and had a beautiful bubbly personality. On the day, she arrived in plenty of time to ensure we were all happy and she was extremely patient with any changes we wanted. I'd definitely recommend karen, for any bride that wants things perfect

I would highly recommend the makeup genie for any bride to be. At the make up trial she was very patient and will make sure you are 100% happy and she also gave me skincare advice too. On the day on the wedding she made everyone feel relaxed and our make up was fab and even though it was a hot day it lasted well into the night. I will definitely be booking Karen again for upcoming events as she is a great make up artist

Can't rate Makeup Genie highly enough.Exactly what I was looking for,flexible,patient& great work which lasted all day & beyond.Excellent service and reasonably priced.Overall fantastic & looking forward to next outing so can be transformed again!

Karen has done my make up many times for many different occasions but most recently for a wedding I was attending. Karen is so professional, reliable, flexible and a brilliant make up artist. She always listens to the kind of look I'd like and doesn't stop until she achieves it..... nothing is too much trouble. I couldn't recommend highly enough.

Karen is without doubt a very talented and professional make-up artist. She puts you at ease and really listens to your ideas. Karen gave great presents wedding skin care tips also. As someone who has a lot of allergies to makeup I found that she really took time to find what was right for me as a bride. I will be using karen again for future events.

I was absolutely delighted that I got the make up genie for my big day . very professional ,friendly and great value .
My make up was complimented by very one ( that is always good ) and lasted all day .
When I got the make up trial , she really listened to what looking wanted and advised me what would suit me and spent a good hour and half . make up genie would not go until I was100% happy .

I cannot put into enough words how happy I was with Karen, she was absolutely amazing and did exactly what I asked for, I didn't look in the mirror like I normally

I can't recommend The Make Up Genie enough. Her make up was flawless and gave me the natural look I wanted. She seemed to instinctively know what I wanted, my make up was perfect all day and lasted well into the early hours. If your looking for someone who brings professionalism with a smile, Karen is the one for you.

I was so lucky to have had the pleasure of Karen The Make up Genie doing my wedding make up and my bridal party and my mothers make up back in July 2011...Karen was so professional and a real lady. During the trial she had offered lots of advice re skin care and lipsticks etc. My make up didn't even need to be retouched throughout the day apart from lippy....as the years have gone on I have had Karen do my make up for both my daughters christenings and my family members have had her do theirs also. I also had a fantastic make up lesson from Karen when I was on my first maternity leave and I can say it was one of the best investments in myself. She came to my house and went through my products and re taught me how to do my make up (properly and faster since there was a mini me) I'm not one for heavy make up and I have always managed to look youthful and dewy thanks to Karen and I always feel a million dollars afterwards.
