Ballybeg House

We just got married and Ballybeg couldn’t have been better for us. The staff is so amazing, professional, and a joy to work with. They made sure EVERYONE was enjoying themselves, but especially the bride and groom. They fully customized everything we asked and fulfilled all our requests perfectly. The food, the gorgeous venue, the rooms, the staff, all just blew our minds. Went above and beyond our expectations.

A family member of mine got married at Ballybeg last year, the venue is beautiful but the late night taxi service offered on site was awful. The taxi services didn't show up for the times booked and were not answering their mobile phone. When they eventually showed up 1 - 1.5 hours late, they tried to take payments twice for the same taxi ride (it was only when one guest said he had already paid for the taxi that the driver sheepishly said that payment had already been made). A year later I am still incredibly angry about the entire situation, we had people travelling from other countries who booked their taxi like they were asked to, and for the taxi to not show up and not answer any phone calls is unacceptable. You can't leave people stranded in the middle of the countryside for hours at 2 to 4am in the morning. In the end there were about 40 people waiting for lifts in the cold, absolutely unacceptable and classic rip off ireland with the taxi man trying to take payments twice. I will never recommend Ballybeg to anyone after this, even though the venue is stunning.

My Husband, John and I recently had our wedding here. Do not get me wrong, it was amazing in the end. However, we had some difficulties prior and even the 1st few days we arrived. Lucky for us, we had the BEST wedding coordinator, Mark O keeffe. He sorted so many things out for us and made us feel it was never a bother. He even asked his sister, Sarah, to drop off a blowdryer to us at night because there weren't any there. Sarah is in charge of housekeeping and is BEYOND helpful. She drove me in to town, after dropping her blow dryer off, to make sure i was not late meeting my family!). Then, the next morning, Mark showed up with brand new blow dryers for every room.
Our wedding was an amazing day. Mark handled all the details. Booking and planning a wedding from New York was not easy. Mark really took the reigns and helped us sort everything out. He was responsive, helpful and most of all trustworthy. Mark's demeanor was kind and always reassuring. He had every detail sorted out from the tiniest little thing to the big ones. Even with the distance and different time zones, I honestly elt relaxed with becuae Mark was doing all this owrk behind the scenes and keeping us up to date. We had some bumps in the road dealing with the owner, but rest assured, Mark made it possible to have the day we wanted. Mark took such good care of us and everything that we were able to enjoy our time.

Now, let's talk the food...Maggie is AMAZING. She is by far, the best Chef I've ever had the pleasure of tasting their food. No joke. 100% the best food ever. Maggie was so accommodating, came out to check on us multiple times. Here's the thing, every person at our wedding mentioned the food...more than once too. Maggie cooks it al from traditional greats to out of the box creations.

The Ballybeg is a beautiful venue to have your wedding, but it's the people who work there that make it what it is - exceptionally special. We highly recommend it...but I'd make sure Mark, Sarah and Maggie are there on your special day.

Friendly and professional staff available at most hours of the day or night. Clean facilities and exclusive use of the venue with great views of the surrounding countryside. Very 'wedding ready' and plenty of accommodation on site for guests.

We had the most amazing day and didn't have to worry about anything. Ballybeg is a beautiful venue with fantastic scenery, the whole venue was outstanding. From Paddy the owner and every member of his team they were absolutely wonderful, everyone of our guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves and praised our choice of venue as the best they'd ever been to, whenever we meet up they just want to talk about our wedding and Ballybeg. The food was amazing and the service was truly outstanding, it was like clockwork without any stress. We hope to go back one day to see everyone and to say a big thank you.

The best weekend of our lives, run and managed by the kindest people where there was no need for any worries. It was so suited to our approach and had everything we needed and more. Setting and accommodation is stunning, venue speaks for itself and the service and food is exceptional.

We had the most amazing and magical time in Ballybeg house. The staff were beyond helpful and brilliant and the location was absolutely stunning (even though it rained on our big day!) We had a lot of our guests travelling from abroad-as we did ourselves-and found the few days in ballybeg great to catch up with everyone. The 10 pods they have in the woods as accommodation are both comfortable and spotlessly clean and add a fun element for guests. The main house, the dairy, and grouse lodge were also fantastic accommodation and beautifully finished. The ceremony room where we got married was out of this world, and the marquee for the reception was beautiful. We had mollys larder cater for us the night before, the day of, and our Bbq the next day, and everyone pretty much licked their plates clean. If your looking for a relaxed and rustic wedding with friends and family without a ?hotel? feel, and just something different, ballybeg is the place for you! I just wish we could do it all again as it really was the best day/weekend of my life!! So a huge thank you to Tee from pairs and peaches for making our day run so smoothly, we literally couldn't have done it without her! And also I?d like to give a shout out to Dave, from DMC events who was much more than a DJ on the night, he kept the dance floor packed and the craic flowing all night, absolutely brilliant!

The venue becomes yours to do whatever makes your day that extra bit special. You can avail of the property for 4 days it has everything you would ever want. If you go and see the venue you won't go anywhere else.

We had the most incredible time at our wedding at Ballybeg House back in March 2019. From our first visit to the venue and Paddy's tour around the grounds, we knew this was where we wanted to get married.

For the wedding weekend itself, I have to say that from the moment we arrived to the point of leaving, we were bowled over by the venue and the staff. Ballybeg House is an extremely professional setup.

Thank you to the O'Toole family. Thanks to Tee for all the help and organisation. She did a superb job. Thank you Pauline and the catering team. The food was out of this world all weekend. Don't worry about the lack of a tasting session. We are still getting compliments from guests about how good the food was. The staff were faultless and our guests were so well looked after.

If you are thinking of getting married at Ballybeg House, you will not be disappointed. It is an amazing place to celebrate with your nearest and dearest.

My husband and I loved this venue from the moment we seen it. Its so unique and the grounds are maintained to perfection. Its truly a magical place that people wont forget. The shebeen unfortunately was too smokey on the 2nd day, a guest with asthma could not sit inside. I noticed it the second I walked in & commented but the staff said it was part of the charm. It was definitely too smokey, myself and 2 other people had sore throat from it and eventually 1 of the fires was put out. I think perhaps the chimney needed to be cleaned. I would love another opportunity to celebrate at Ballybeg but I don't plan on getting married again.

Such a great venue. Guests were still raving about the place a week later, including how comfy the pods were. We really wanted and loved the laid back, fun atmosphere. It was so nice to have our dogs there with us as well. The food was excellent and the staff were so lovely, the day of the wedding and throughout the rest of the weekend. We couldn't have been happier.

Ballybeg house is an amazing wedding venue. From the beginning when we met Paddy the owner, we fell in love with ballybeg. It had everything we wanted for our wedding. Food was spectacular by Mollys larder, Pauline was fantastic to deal with. Tee our wedding planner is exceptional at her job. Nothing was a big ask. Our wedding wknd was so much fun and it was so nice to treat all our family and friends to a weekend of celebrating our wedding. Top marks all round. Can't recommend ballybeg house enough.. Ballybeg is a fairytale! We knew the instant we pulled into the drive that this place was special. Each time we went to visit, Ballybeg became better and better - it started to feel like home, no joke. From the owner to the coordinator, to the caterer, to the house staff, all of them are there for you guys and your guests. There were so many moments during our day when I realized things had been taken care of without me even knowing. We even had a special moment where everyone was gathered for dinner and it was super quiet. We were taking in the view when a lovely staff member came and brought us drinks and the canapes we hadn't had a chance to try... that quiet moment with my new husband was my favorite moment of the day! We had a smallish wedding (around 70 people), and our friends and family said it was the best wedding they've ever been to. On the day, we had a few hiccups, but the guests never knew - in fact, they said it was the best wedding they had ever been to! You could tell that they were truly enjoying themselves, which made us so so happy. Would we do it all over again? 1000% yes!!! Would we recommend them? Without one, single doubt. You won't regret it!! :D

Ballybeg House was an incredible venue! Our guests who flew in from Canada, USA, UK, India and Australia were blown away by the beauty of it all. The lush green fields, the cozy accommodations and the Irish hospitality made the venue a little piece of heaven. Planning a 3 day Indian-Irish wedding in Ireland from two cities (Toronto & Vancouver) in Canada is no easy feat, but the Ballybeg House team made the whole process a breeze. Paddy and his team on the ground, Tee of Pairs & Peaches, Ingrid & Pauline and their staff from Molly's Larder all came together to make our weekend a dream - no ask was too much and even the things we might not have considered had already been planned for. They took our vision, and made it their own - which turned out to be even better than we could have imagined. Our guests have many fond memories of our lovely wedding weekend and speak of the warm hospitality they enjoyed - the Ballybeg House team truly made us all feel like family and not just wedding guests. Thank you all once again for everything.
