Kinnitty Castle Hotel

Magnificent is the only word to describe our Wedding at Kinnitty Castle in September.
We only booked the venue in May ,but from start to finish the whole planning of our day was seamless, professional and without any stress.
The food and wine on the day were superb. Every guest commented on the quality and excellence of every course.
We couldn't thank Des (Manager), Conor ( Master of Ceremonies) Kori( Wedding planner) and Mary ( Wedding dresser) for their fantastic care of us and every detail at every contact.
Most of our guests stayed at the Castle and were absolutely amazed at the incredible beauty and uniqueness of every room.
We would highly recommend every aspect of our Wedding at Kinnitty Castle-you will not be disappointed.

We had the most fantastic wedding in Kinnitty Castle, the setting & food was excellent. The atmosphere in the banquet hall and dungeon bar was brilliant.

Kinnity Castle went above and beyond for us for our wedding day. I could not fault it if I tried. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Mairead looked after us from start to finish and she was a gem, such a lovely woman who really went above and beyond to help us with everything.
The venue speaks for itself, STUNNING.
So quirky and different to the norm, which is exactly what we were after. Wish I could relive it all again.

We had the most amazing wedding day at Kinnitty Castle Hotel. We had a small wedding of 70 people, which made this the perfect venue. We had the castle all to ourselves since all the rooms were occupied by our guests. The venue was so beautiful, it was like being in a fairytale. The staff was so helpful and thought of everything, so we could just relax and enjoy our day. We cannot recommend Kinnitty Castle enough!

Kinnitty Castle was the perfect venue for our small wedding. It felt like we had the place to ourselves for the day and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was perfect - sol delicious and piping hot, the rooms were beautiful - we were able to use different parts of the hotel during the day and it was just all perfect. Our guests loved the day and are still talking about it! Thanks to all the staff in Kinnitty for making our day so special.

Kinnitty Caatke Hotel was the dream venue for us. It?s ?old world charm? makes the place very special. The staff are incredibly helpful and professional throughout. Any issues were dealt with swiftly and we were very happy with the service. On the day, the castle and the banquet hall looked amazing. They could not do enough for us. The food was delicious and we got loads of compliments from our guests about our choice of venue. We loved having our reception at Kinnitty and would highly recommend it to any couple.

Everything from start to finish about my experience was beyond excellent. From the moment I inquired about their wedding packages to the day of the wedding...the staff was super responsive! Planning everything through emails I was a bit fearful of things going sideways, however Aidan is a rockstar and had everything looking beyond flawless and moving like clock work. My guest were extremely impressed and had the best time!

The Venue

Kinnitty is truly a unique venue - the old world charm and palpable atmosphere is hard to recreate. This is a genuine, gothic castle, not a castle or old house that has been modernised, the floors creak, the rooms are all unique and the great hall is like being in a Harry Potter movie. Our favourite thing about Kinnitty was that we had exclusive use of castle for the entire weekend - there were no guests staying aside from our wedding guests and we had full run of the castle which is something that comes with booking the venue (at no extra charge). Although it is a hotel, it doesn't feel like it. The new owners have carried out some much needed renovations which have really lifted the place - the walls are newly painted, changes have been made to the layout, new furniture has been added, the floor in the great hall has been varnished, the bedrooms have been modernised. Our guests had no complaints about the rooms and we saw several rooms which were all unique and stunning. The courtyard was absolutely fabulous, it was so nice to have a sun trap where people could have drinks before the meal and we took our family photos out here among our guests. The Dungeon bar for the late bar was great craic and there was a queue at the bar when we were heading to bed (at 4am!!!). We had our day two in this bar and the music that Kinnitty organised was second to none! We had the best night of our lives.

The Staff

The staff are so friendly, flexible and easy going in every way. They were very accommodating and allowed us to bring in whatever we wanted (aside from alcohol) and placed all our wedding signage around the wedding meaning that our wedding morning was hassle free. Simon met with us on several occasions including the night before to do a run through and his laid back attitude was really calming on the wedding weekend. He also organised for our colour scheme to be incorporated into the flowers around the hotel. Nigel is a complete professional and couldn't have done enough for us. Aidan kept the emails flowing in the lead up and the drink flowing at the bar! Mary did a fabulous job of the hall - the fresh ivy along the walls was really stunning. The wait staff were so professional (thanks Una for keeping me in the red wine!). The chefs are creative and do an excellent job. Even the cleaning staff in the morning were so friendly and accommodating.

The Food

The food was another one of our favourite things about Kinnitty - it was excellent, second to none - from the canapes at the reception, to the unreal menu choices to the fresh, homemade bbq on day 2, our guests are still talking about the unique and stunning meal. The wine choices were fantastic, we were really impressed by the wine that was included in the package and our guests have commented on it since.

Location

Located a 5 minute drive from a Catholic church, a Church of Ireland and having the facility to have civil ceremonies on site makes the logistics of having a wedding at Kinnitty another one of our favourite things about the venue. The drive to the church was so short for our guests. There are lovely woodland walks around the hotel for guests staying for day two. There are also so many photo opportunities on the grounds of the castle which meant that we got our photos done really quickly and they are stunning.

All in all, the feedback from our guests, particularly from our families, has blown us away. We couldn't have asked for a better venue for us, we loved the unique-ness of it and would do it all over again. Thank you so much Kinnitty for making this the best day of our lives.

The overall experience with Kinnitty was good. The place is beautiful and I would chose it again. Simon the Operations Manager was pleasant to deal with. Our guest had a lovely time and loved the venue, the rooms, the experience and the food even though we were quite worried at first as we had to do 2 menu testings. In the negative side, the wedding coordinator could have been more proactive, it was us mainly the ones making the contact and we never got answers to all our questions in our email communications. In general communication between employees in the hotel is very poor. There were several occasions where we had to reiterate our contract conditions or to ask certain things to be sent or done for us several times to several people.

It was an absolutely amazing place. Beautiful location, attentive staff. Perfect.

We had an amazing wedding weekend in kinnitty castle with our 5 children, friends and family. From the minute we checked in to when we left we were treated like royalty. The wedding crew and hotel staff were amazing and Lindsay, our wedding co ordinator was beyond amazing! Every little detail we wanted was done for us without question. Kinnitty castle also gave us a beautiful gift to remember our wedding weekend.

I suppose you could say our situation was a little different than most. We were planning our wedding at home in Ireland all the way from Canada with an 8 hour time difference. I didn?t know where to begin! We started an extensive search online for just the right venue. Our wedding wasn?t just our wedding, but was also a reunion for family members whom we hadn?t seen in the years since we moved abroad. So it was very important that we found just the right place.

My parents offered to go and meet with the coordinator and go on a tour of one of our top choices, Kinnitty Castle. The first of many venues to be seen I was sure. My parents took photos and absolutely raved about the place. The beautiful location, stunning period rooms, amazing food and friendly staff. "There's nothing no to like" they said. Having been to a fair few weddings they were sure we wouldn?t find anywhere we?d like better. Kinnitty Castle was perfect and seemed to ?fit? us.

From the very beginning, we put our faith in Lyndsey, the coordinator at the castle. We were very apprehensive doing so much planning, so far away, and had a lot of questions. With the 8 hour time difference it was difficult to communicate, I couldn't just call if I had questions or requests. This often meant emailing in the afternoon and having to wait until the next day to get a reply. But the reply was always there when I woke up. If it wasn?t Lyndsey, it was another member of staff. Someone always got back to me and put my mind at ease. This was a huge deal as planning a wedding is stressful enough and doing it from a different continent is certainly tough, but having people who are so easy to deal with made such a difference.

One the day itself the staff went above and beyond what we expected. We couldn?t have asked for a better place to have our special day. I?m so glad we chose Kinnitty. I can?t even imagine what it would be like for something to go wrong on such an important day, and I have Lyndsey and the other staff members to thank for that. The day went by with a certain flow and there was absolutely no stress. We had certain expectations and they were exceeded. Our guests still talk about our wedding and the friendliness of the staff is always a topic.

I?d recommend to anyone considering Kinnitty Castle to 100% choose them. You won?t be disappointed. We had absolutely no complaints. Their professionalism and courtesy just made our special day, that bit more special.

We had a fantastic wedding at Kinnitty Castle. The staff were so attentive and incredibly helpful and they made our guests feel so welcome and at home. Nothing was too much trouble- from ensuring specific dietary requirements were met to arranging then rearranging the bedroom guest list as per my instructions.
The reception went so smoothly - Simon was on hand to guide us through the day and his gentle manner kept us calm and free from stress for the entire time.
The food was exceptional! The guests were raving about the canap?s which were served when we arrived back to the hotel from the church. The 4 course meal was incredible - not one person had a complaint to make!
In the run up to the wedding we mostly used email to communicate. Our emails were answered practically immediately so any queries we had were resolved instantly meaning no stress!
The rooms are amazing. If you like the splendour of Olde Worlde then Kinnitty Castle is the place for you! The giant four poster bed I stayed in on the eve of the wedding was beautiful, not to mention the fabulous hand carved bed in the bridal suite.
It's by no means a run of the mill hotel where every corridor is identical to the next. Our guests had fantastic fun exploring the different corridors - it's actually a castle, not a castle on the outside and a regular hotel on the inside. It's a real castle!
I genuinely can't fault any aspect of our wedding at Kinnitty. The staff were amazing, particularly Clair, Helen and Simon; the food was exceptional; the venue was breathtaking.

Our wedding day was the best day ever and Kinnitty is the most beautiful venue.
Food was second to none, I have received so many compliments about this ever since.
And also, the service was suburb. The staff are all friendly , professional and are willing to help in any way they can.
I cannot thank Kinnittys staff and wedding coordinators enough. They really ensured everything went smoothly on the day!

I would happily recommend Kinnitty castle to anyone, it is in a beautiful location, the premises is wonderful, the staff are brilliant and the food is amazing - what more could anyone want!!!!
Our family and friends also loved our banquet table, this is an unusual style and people have raved about it!!!! It's very different and we were delighted we could have this on the day! All I want now, is to rewind the clock and repeat the big day!!

From the moment we arrived at the castle, the night before our big day, until the moment we left, two days after, we had the most magnificent time. There was no issue too big or small for Simon and Lyndsay.

Everything ran smoothly on our wedding day, and I am a self confessed organisation freak. The venues were set up beautifully. Exactly as I requested, with an eye on the small details. The food and service was excellent.

Communication was always great, and I organized the wedding from Australia so this was important.

Cannot wait to go back for our anniversary.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Kinnitty Castle. From the beginning of the process they were incredibly flexible, prompt, and easy to deal with. Simon was wonderful to work with and the entire staff provided such amazing service. The castle itself looked stunning for our wedding and even little details were handled without me even having to ask. In addition, pricing was affordable and you got so many extras included that would have been additional fees at other venues.

So many of our guests said that ours was simply the best wedding they had ever attended. As a bride, I never felt stressed at all during the day as they just made everything run smoothly. Kinnitty provided an amazing venue and impeccable service. It was truly a fairytale come true. I highly recommend this venue and can't wait to return for our first anniversary!

Amazing venue, loved every single minute! We had civil ceremony in the great hall, and the decor was lovely, so atmospheric! If I had to do it all again, I wouldn't change a single detail! The staff were all so lovely, especially the singing bar man! Simon, Aoife and Cavan were all so helpful throughout.

We knew once we had a look around the Castle that this is where we wanted to get married! Once we
sat down with Cavan we realised that nothing was too much trouble. We had the usual nerves about
our guests enjoying themselves and everything going to plan but we needn't have worried, Cavan and
Aoife were on hand all day to make sure everything was ok, we didn't have to think about a thing!

We held our civil ceremony here on 4th January & cannot praise the team enough. From the first time we met with Cavan, it was apparent that he was the epitome of organization, professionalism & helpfulness. in the lead-up to the day & on the day, everything was taken care of in a manner that made us as relaxed as possible. Our guests could not find fault with anything on the day & several of them are planning on going back in the near future. The venue was decorated beautifully on the day, everything was organized with precision & executed perfectly. Our guests have not stopped talking about the quality of food served on the day - exceptional to say the least. The team at Kinnitty are amazing at their jobs & in addition they could not have been more warm or welcoming to us & our guests. This wonderful venue is over-shadowed only by the amazingly professional & friendly team of people that work here. Thanks again to all at Kinnitty for a day us & our guests will never forget.

Neil & I had our wedding in Kinnitty Castle and I cannot recommend everything highly enough. From the moment we first viewed the Castle with Andrew until we checked out the day after our wedding we truly felt we could not of asked for more in terms of food, accommodation and service. Well we are back from our honeymoon and back to reality!

We watched the wedding video this morning, I wanted to wait until I had seen it before sending you a mail!
It was so lovely to see it all again and be reminded of what a great day it really was!

I don't really know where to start, our experience with Kinnitty from start to finish was flawless!

Well anyway here goes,

We had the most amazing wedding day in Kinnitty, every member of staff throughout the hotel cannot do enough to help. From the girls that delivered breakfast to a very excited bride and bridesmaids in the morning, to the bar staff at 4 am the following morning everyone went above and beyond the call of duty!

All our guests were delighted with the castle and everyone has since been full of praise! Dinner the night before was amazing, as was the meal on the day. The lady who looked after the top table on the day deserves a special mention, she was amazing! She is fabulous at her job!

Cavan, we have so enjoyed dealing with you throughout the planning stages. Literally nothing was too much trouble, your 'can do' attitude is literally amazing! Still can't believe we never managed to find anything for you to say no to.

You are a voice of reason and island of calm on what can be a very stressful morning. We picked our wedding album photos last night and you are in!
I don't know how many wedding dresses you have hitched up and helped to carry to the great hall but you are a pro!!

The day itself ran like clockwork and I can't even imagine how much work that takes! It looks effortless but I don't even dream it is!

I am still amazed that you managed to accommodate my cheeky cousins who wanted something that wasn't on the menu! Tell the chef he/ she was just too good, I have never heard of a hotel doing that. I really appreciate it but you should they should really not have asked!

Finally, and this is totally legendary!!!! The staff, while cleaning the room at the end of the night searched high and low until they found my cousins lost ear ring. She was just amazed they would go to this effort! It was a small stud ear ring that had actually ended up in 2 parts but they still managed to find it! It turns out it was a Tiffany ear ring and quite valuable so she was delighted to get it back!! Will you make sure to say thanks to all from us, we really appreciate it!

Lastly would you believe we met the couple that got married in Kinnitty on the 31st of December in one of the hotels we stayed in in South Africa? Paul & Karen I think their names were!! They had a fabulous day too so we had a great old chat at the pool!!

I can't believe it's all over but we have amazing memories of Kinnitty and it's staff for many year to come.

We wish Kinnitty all the success it deserves! If anyone ever needs a chat with a previous bride and groom point them in our direction!

We got married on the 8th of September 2012 in Kinnitty Castle and had the most amazing wedding day we could have ever hoped for.
From the moment we arrived in the Castle everything we wanted and needed was taken care of to the highest standard.
All of the staff from the reception to the bar and the banqueting hall were absolutely fantastic. The venue is so magical and that alone in itself created an amazing atmosphere. The Castle has amazing individual bedrooms and we had the whole place to ourselves the night of our wedding which made it so unique and personal. The most talked about element of our day from guests was how amazing the food was and many commented on how it was the best food any of our guests had ever had at a wedding. We had a fantastic experience in Kinnitty Castle from the moment we met Cavan our wedding co ordinator to the moment we left. Cavan was always just a phonce call or email away more than willing and able to help me out with any of my requests, his warm and friendly attitude made my wedding planning so much more relaxed and I knew that we would be taken care of 100%. There was not a single issue the day of our wedding everything went so smoothly and it was the best day of our lives. I dont think we would have had this magical experience anywhere else but in Kinnitty Castle and I would not hesitate for one second to recommend Kinnitty and its wonderful to staff to any bride to be!

Our guests particularly enjoyed the opportunity to stay in a 13th century Castle, and the reception will last long (for the best of reasons) in both our and our guest?s memories.

Thank you for your very kind words. We certainly wanted to give you feed back as we both had time to reflect on the events of the day.
Overall we were very happy with the level of service provided. That included the presentation of the hotel itself on the day and the drinks reception.

Some friends of mine noted that food was promptly handed around by staff which meant that guests didn't have to look for the canapes etc.
The reception itself ran very smoothly even though photography ran over time. The food was of excelllent quality. Both family and friends remarked on the excellent portion size and speed at which it was served. The staff were very pleasant and polite. They were very attentive. Tradtional background music during the meal was asked for but it didn't go as planned. the banquet hall was well decorated and well presented. My family and friends have not stopped talking about the atmosphere Kinnitty had. That's exactly what we wanted.

We want to thank you for giving us the day that we wanted so much. We barely noticed the rain with such surroundings as Kinnitty!
