Step House Hotel

I had the pleasure of having my wedding here in October 2023. I cannot fault the hotel on anything. From start to finish, the staff were amazing. Clodagh was fantastic helping me plan and organise the big day. She was so quick to respond and genuinely happy to help out. Benny was absolutely amazing on the day making sure me, my husband and all my guests were well looked after.

The food here is on another level! Ive had so many people tell me they were coming back for dinner alone. They tailored our meal exactly how we wanted it and the food was cooked to perfection. We attended the Stephouse for lunches and dinners leading up to the day and not once did the standard slip.

The rooms in the hotel are fabulous. My guests were shocked at the size of the rooms and nearly all of them had lovely views of the mountains in the distance. They are all decorated so well with many of them having a special wow factor. The bridal suite was amazing. Im only raging I didnt get to spend more time here. Its equipped with a huge bath and private sauna.

I cant wait to return for our anniversary and actually take the time to enjoy the hotel.

Having been to 2 weddings at The Step House we knew it was exactly what we wanted for our wedding day.
Clodagh was brilliant from the first email, nothing was too much trouble and she was always in touch. It was lovely to know she was there on the day to make sure everything ran smoothly too.
It has the most amazing garden area that our guests were welcomed to, the kids could run around and it was perfect for photos.
We had booked out all the rooms, which our guests said were very comfortable, and it really felt like our private hotel for the day without a huge price tag.
The penthouse is a must see, the balcony and view make for a very relaxing morning getting ready. I had 3 hair/make up girls and there was loads of room for everyone popping in & out all morning.
The food is some of the best I have ever had. Everyone complimented it from the arrival canapés, the main dinner and the late night snacks to breakfast the next morning.
Overall we had the best day, everything was looked after and all we had to do was relax and enjoy it.

There were two changes in wedding co-ordinators, which was a bit upsetting and disruptive. However staff that dealt with us in particular as we got nearer to the wedding were brillant, particular mention to Dane and Johnny who ran the show on the day and were brillant!!!

The team in the Step House were fantastic on our wedding day. We could not fault a single thing...they are incredibly professional, not just on the day itself but right throughout the process from our planning stages and final meetings to the next day on check out, they were amazing.they were such a great support and gave us great guidance on the day itself. I would highly recommend the Step House as a dream wedding venue, and the staff are second to none. I have wonderful memories to look back on from our wedding day and we have the Step House to thank for that. Food was beautiful, service was excellent and the staff are so friendly and helpful. The reception room and table settings are so beautifully finished, and we loved that the bar, toilets and garden are all located around the reception room which helped to keep all of our guests together and meant we didn't lose anyone throughout the night! Dance floor ia a great size, it's not too big which can be off putting for some! We loved that the tables were round, it meant as the bridal couple we were able to chat with everyone at our table and not just the person beside you. Bridal suite is beautiful. The day goes so quickly and the Step House really helped to make sure we enjoyed every moment!

Our day at the Step House was just amazing. From start to finish everything was perfect, the staff are excellent and will do everything in their power to ensure your day is perfect, special mention to Angela the wedding planner who is superb and Niall the banquet manager who ensured everything ran smoothly on the day. The fuction room is just the perfect size and really keeps the atmosphere and party feeling alive. What can I say about the food it was just out of this world people to this day still telling us it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. I could not recommend this place enough if you are looking for a venue for your special day, they ensured I had the best day and best party.

We had our hearts set on the Step House years before we even got engaged, it is such a stunning and unique venue. We had complete peace of mind from the outset and couldn't find one fault in our dealings with the hotel. We have amazing memories not only from our wedding day but also our menu tasting night which was a delight. Everything was impeccable- food, service, accommodation. All of our guests were thrilled with the hotel and guesthouses. We cannot recommend the Step House highly enough!

I felt Stephouse hotel were my top supplier, they were so professional, courteous and attentive to every detail or query I had. On the day they did so much to make my guests feel relaxed-everyone commented on the service and the quality of the food. The whole day ran so smoothly. The bar service and waiting staff were incredible and Niall, our contact throughout the day, was brilliant, advising us on when they were serving, when they were ready for us etc. They were ready with any advice we might have needed (timings and so on) and every table in our wedding of 100 was served at the same time! A huge biggie for us as there is nothing worse than the top table finished their course when some tables are still waiting. My husband and I went around to all the tables at elast twice between courses to see how everyone was getting on and to get a chance to see all our guests to thank them, and there really wasn't one plate that was completely empty (even my fussy eaters!). Wine was in everyone's glass and the service was prompt and friendly. Even my 4 year old niece at one point ate her dad's starter and they brought him out another one no problem. The menu choice was amazing. We went to several places before hand and tried out some wedding menus in top 5 star hotels from my hometown and my husbands area and the food was disappointing in each place, until we came to the stephouse, and it was very reasonably priced. Corkage was no problem either and the next day they served us the rest of our wine with our intimate family dinner, which I thought was lovely. When my 4 year old niece was going to bed at around 10.30 she was upset she didn't get any wedding cake so one of the waitresses went in to bring her out a selection so she didn't miss out and she was thrilled. The venue layout itself was brilliant, the cocktail bar was very intimate and cosy with the fires, and the balcony for smokers, we got some amazing photos The verandah doors led out to the garden as well so if the room gets too warm with the dancing they can be opened, but people are still protected from the cold (in winter). I was very confident that we wanted our bar and toilets in the same area as the dance floor so our group wouldn't be broken up, but if the noise did get too much for kids/older people they were able to pop up to the bar as well. It really helped keep the atmosphere going all day and night. I honestly couldn't fault the venue one bit and they made the day so much more special through their professionalism and quality product. Rooms really comfy too and the penthouse is amazing! I would have no problem recommending them for a wedding venue and a lot of our guests have gone back and sent parents/friends to the hotel based on their excellent experience at our wedding (and I would always be sceptical about what people say, but the clean plates and happy faces I saw made me believe every word of what was said)
