We love, love, love our wedding decor here in weddingsonline HQ and something we see a lot of is lanterns! They’re versatile, can look incredibly pretty when filled with flickering candles or fresh flowers and they can be used in loads of different ways. They make stunning pew ends for wedding ceremonies – fill them with flowers, pop in plain or personalised candles (Lightworker Candles have a fabulous array of personalised candles and are based here in Ireland) or use them as a cool place to display your unity candle. If you’re looking for something unique, you can use them to create an incredible backdrop with hanging lanterns or place some lanterns beside draped curtains to create a stunning and incredibly romantic altar setting.
For your reception, prop some ornate lanterns beside signs to create an enchanting display, use them as centrepieces, to display table numbers, as a place to pop wedding cards and just about anywhere else to bring some romance to the room and occasion. Your maids can even even hold them as a fun and fitting winter alternative to bouquets! Lanterns come in all manner of sizes and colours from cheery ochre yellows to glamorous glittery golds and elegant and versatile black so you’re sure to find something to suit your own particular style or theme. Check out some of our favourite ways couples have worked lanterns in to their Big Day below…
