We met… in Heilbronn, Germany, during my Erasmus year there.
Our engagement… The proposal was on my birthday, two days before we found out about our pregnancy.
My look on the day… My dress and the bridesmaid dresses were all bought online. My make-up was done by Laura Abendroth and Steffi Edia – two bridesmaids who are professional hair and make-up artists.
His suit… was tailor made in Beijing and the groomsmen’s suits were rented from Whelans Menswear in Naas.
Our ceremony… was personally created by Romy McAuley and beautifully performed by Gabrielle from A Beautiful Ceremony Ltd. Our musician Pat Byrne gave everyone goosebumps – he set the mood for the day from the first song at our ceremony to the last last of the night with his band The Funky Buskers.
Our venue… We chose Tulfarris Hotel & Golf Resort firstly because we fell in love with the location – on the peninsula jutting out in the lakes of Blessington – and secondly because of the amazing team of coordinators. From our first meeting, Lillian Mahon, Honora Carberry and Derrick the Duty Manger went above and beyond for us and all of our guests.
Our wedding theme… Our wedding colours were pastel and themes were rustic, vintage, love… Our stunning and delicious cake and cupcakes were made by the talented Cat Lawlor at The Cake Cuppery and Helena from Wedding Flowers with Love created a scene of pure romance with her flower arrangements.
We chose our wedding photographer because… We chose Emma Russell for photography because her photos are natural. They portray every emotion that comes with wedding days and she’s an amazingly funny and down to earth person.
Our honeymoon… began before the wedding with a pre-wedding getaway to Thailand and after the wedding we switched off in Monart in Enniscorthy, Wexford.
My piece of advice for other brides… to get Aileen from Remarkable Beauty to come out the evening before and give the bridal party a pamper package – she’s amazing!
