Introducing Laura and Richard, a stunning couple who have been together for 12 years! Their engagement began on the day their daughter was due to be born (she’d arrived early, in a car on the M3!) and their wedding was full of pastel colours and organic moments between guests who hadn’t seen each other in years.

Couple: Laura and Richard Byrne

Laura and Richard met at Palace Nightclub in Navan in 2009. They got engaged in August 2020, the day their daughter was due to be born, but she’d arrived early in the car on the M3.

For their wedding, they didn’t really have a theme, but they chose to include lots of pastel colours! They had purple, sage green and ivory. The decorations and invitation design were the same throughout.

Laura wore a gorgeous ivory lace dress from Dreamy Curves Bridal. Richard wore a navy suit, ivory tie and brown shoes. The bridesmaids wore beautiful sage green dresses with silver accessories and the groomsmen matched Richard in navy suits and brown shoes but with silver ties. The page boy wore a navy suit and brown shoes and the flower girl wore an ivory dress, headband, tights and shoes.

They describe their wedding ceremony as “amazing!”. Here’s what they said about it:

“We had the best priest. Everyone commented on him. We had the best band also for it; The Madisons. Nigel from The Madisons sung at the ceremony with Mark Cahill from the Ivory Sessions. The priest, Father Joeseph McEvoy also brought a chalice from Moynalty church which belonged to an ancestor of mine which was over 120 years old.”

Their wedding reception was hosted at Trim Castle Hotel. This is what they loved about the venue: “Amazing venue, amazing staff, amazing food and the roof top terrace, on a good day had the best atmosphere and views.”

They describe their photographer, Alan as “excellent, barely knew he was there.” His packages were well priced and they loved seeing their sneak peek pics!

In lei of wedding favours, they donated to the Miscarriage Association of Ireland instead.

Their favourite memories of the Big Day were the moments at the church!

“The priest and band just made the day. The florist Francis was also amazing. That was the 3 most talked about things of the day. Having the chalice belonging to my ancestor was also amazing and obviously getting married and having our two young kids by our side for it.”
