A Simple and Elegant Champagne Wedding

Articles, Real Weddings

This gorgeous wedding can be described as simple and elegant. Not wanting anything too over the top, Lisa and Lee took the advice of their wedding coordinator, Chelsea, and opted for champagne chair seats and a simple flower arrangement in the middle.

Your Names: Lisa Mulholland & Lee Orton

Lisa and Lee met while on holiday. Actually Lisa’s mam set them up! “My mam met him the night before when she was out watching the football and arranged to meet up with him and his friend the following night as she wanted to introduce him to her daughter. He told my mam a few hours after meeting me that he was going to marry her daughter.”

Lee knew that Lisa didn’t want a big fuss, so when he proposed, he popped the question in their shared home when it was just the two of them!

Lisa visited several dress shops and only found her dream wedding dress a month before getting married. “I was quite calm about it but my mam and bridesmaids were more stressed about my not having a dress until the last minute than I was.”

“I knew the look I wanted; soft curls in my hair and I wanted my makeup to be similar to what I normally wear which the fantastic makeup artist did. My shoes I bought about 6 months before the wedding from Irregular Choice Bridal Collection.”

Lisa’s bridesmaids picked out the dresses they wanted. They were all different heights and sizes, and Lisa wanted each of them to be comfortable. Just look at these hot pink dresses from Wed2be!

“As we are not religious we decided on a humanist wedding. The ceremony was tailored to what we wanted and lasted roughly 30 minutes. It was beautiful to us and all our family and friends agreed.”

Lisa and Lee made a list of a few hotels to visit, but when they visited Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel, they just knew it was the one! “We loved the grounds and the pictures we were able to get. The room setup was fantastic.”

One of Lisa’s favourite memories from their Big Day is the moment she walked down the aisle. There were bagpipes playing and it was such a beautiful moment that there were tears all around!

“It’s your special day. Do it the way you want to do it. Try not to listen to anyone else saying you have to have that, no you don’t. The day flashes by so quickly so just go with the day you envision and have it the way you want.”
