We met… at a mutual friend’s party in 2008.

Our proposal… Christmas morning 2013, it started with a huge box, then 20 boxes later was my stunning engagement ring. Our two children were part of it.

My look… was custom made by Edith Szogradi (the company is called Leya Marini and is on Baggot Street). I had about eight meetings including dress fittings, all were very enjoyable. At the beginning I emailed Edith about 10 pictures and marked my favourite part of each dress. She then sketched my dream dress a few days later. Gillian and her wonderful team at Shampoo Hair & Beauty in Terenure looked after our hair. They had us relaxed, drinking champagne and hair done perfectly in no time at all. Our make-up was done by Bex Noonan, my sister-in-law who is a professional make-up artist and has a natural gift. She even gave us the lipsticks so that we could top up throughout the day.

His suit… my husband’s suit and groomsmen’s suits all came from the Formal Suite in Juke Street. They custom made my son’s waistcoat to match his Daddy’s suit. My son’s suit was from Next.

Our ceremony… was pretty amazing. It was at St. Mary’s Church in Saggart and Fr. Enda Cunningham was simply wonderful and made it truly special.

What our bridal party wore… my four bridesmaids had their dresses made in Dresses4Heaven. My flower girls had matching dresses to mine, made by Leya Marini who designed my dress.

We chose our photographer because… I had seen Janet’s work (Janet Meehan Photography) and loved it. We then arranged a meeting. Janet’s professionalism and contagious personality won us over straight away.

We chose our venue because… We met Patrick who showed us around Bellingham Castle and talked us through the menu. We knew within moments it was the perfect venue. The grounds, the castle… everything about it was beyond perfect. We then dealt with one of the most wonderful people I have ever met, Ciara Carolan. She organised and perfected everything for the wedding reception. On the day of our wedding, the wedding reception ran so smoothly thanks to Ciara, Patrick and their amazing team. They were on top of everything but in a very discreet and professional manner.

Our honeymoon… as we have two young children, we decided to go on honeymoon in October as the children were on their midterm. We decided to go to Prague for six days and had the most special and amazing time.

My favourite part of the wedding day… It’s tough to choose one but a very magical moment for us was entering the reception room holding our children’s hands and been surrounded by so many close family and friends. A lot of our guests had travelled from America and Holland which was amazing – I cannot explain how good it felt.

My piece of advice for other brides… 1. Don’t get stressed over the little things, it will all come together on the day. 2. Enjoy your day and let it flow. 3. Try to take 10-15 minutes after the first dance with your new husband and chat about the day and enjoy the moment. Seán and I just went for a little walk around the grounds when everything had calmed down.
