We met… in Damien’s local pub. Damien was the local DJ.
Our proposal… we went for a drive to Howth, our favourite place. We drove to the summit where we chatted and Damien proposed!! He got out in the rain and got on one knee in a big puddle!
My look… My dress was from The Bridal Studio, Drogheda and my hair and makeup was by Aoife Troy.
Our wedding theme/colours… Ours was a traditional Irish themed wedding – our colours were ivory/cream.
His suit… was from Pat O’Byrne Menswear, Trim, Co. Meath.
Our ceremony… was in St. Patrick’s Church, Kilquade, Co. Wicklow. It was celebrated by Fr. Edwin McCallion and the music was provided by The Vard Sisters.
What our bridal party wore… The bridesmaids dresses were from Cari’s Closet in Malahide and the groomsmen suits were from Pat O’Byrne Menswear.
We chose our photographer because… we fell in love with Ros from Couple Photography as soon as we met. She knew exactly what we wanted and we absolutely loved her work. Ros came highly recommended by our wedding coordinator in Druids Glen.
Our honeymoon… we spent 7 nights in the 5* Anantarra Palm Hotel in Dubai.
Our menu… was Caesar Salad, Potato & Leak Soup, Citrus Sorbet, Fillet Steak or Oven Baked Herb Crusted Salmon, Pear & Apple Crumble and Tea/Coffee with Petit Fours.
We chose our venue because… we chose Druids Glen because of the wedding coordinator Nessa Kearney. I first met Nessa at the Bride of the Year show in the RDS and knew straight away by her professionalism that we would have an amazing day at Druids Glen. We viewed many other venues but in our view nothing came close to Druids Glen. The landscape, the interior etc. was stunningly beautiful.
We chose our wedding coordinator because… of Nessa’s friendliness and professionalism. We knew Nessa would go above and beyond to help create the best day of our lives.
My favourite part of the wedding day… for me the ceremony was my favorite part. We were surrounded by our closest family and friends who were so happy for us. The love we felt in the church was something I’ll never forget.
My piece of advice for other couples… my advice for other brides would be to firstly have a wedding coordinator who you can turn to for advice and guidance as it can be very overwhelming planning such a big event. Trust your suppliers and vendors 100%, that way you will be stress free and can relax knowing everyone is doing their job. You will have the best day and nothing will bother you so relax, take in every second and be present in every moment.
