An Post Wedding Stamp 2013

Articles

I don’t know about you, but personally I get really excited when I get a wedding invitation in the post, and I love when the couple goes to the effort of putting a wedding stamp on the envelope.

Released just yesterday on Valentine’s Day, here’s the 2013 wedding stamp.

An Post Wedding Stamp 2013

We were really surprised at traditional feel to this year’s stamp. What do you think?

The stamp and was designed by Steve Simpson, based on a photograph by Harry Weir and shows a couple lighting their wedding candle during their nuptials. The stamp is sold as a self -adhesive pair, or self-adhesive booklet of 10 x ‘N’ rate (55c) stamps. Unfortunately, it’s only available as a 55c stamp, so if you’re sending invitations abroad, you’d have to include 2 wedding stamps, or 1 wedding stamp and some alternative standard stamps to make up the amount.

You can buy the wedding stamp at most large post offices, but they may not hold that many in stock, so we’d suggest to order them in advance so they can get them in for you.

Alternatively, you can order them directly from the An Post Website www.irishstamps.ie.

If you prefer last year’s stamp (the couple beside the vintage car), we’d suggest you contact An Post straight away to check if they still have some in stock.

Here’s a selection of stamps from An Post’s  previous wedding stamp collection.

Unfortunately, An Post don’t allow personalised wedding stamps, so you have a very limited choice when it comes to stamps for your wedding stationery – either a pretty normal stamp, or An Post’s latest edition in its wedding stamp series.
