Finally, it’s Friday! We have a pretty wedding to kick start your weekend; Aisling and Darren chose the beautiful setting of Ballymagarvey Village for their wedding day, which was captured by IG Studio. Keep an eye out for Aisling’s bespoke dessert table and lots of handmade details throughout the day!
Owning Seomra Tae Catering, it was only natural for Aisling and her groom to favour a handmade wedding with plenty of cake!
The couple originally met during a night out when Darren was celebrating his Leaving Cert results! A few years on during a skiing holiday in Soll with friends, Darren surprised Aisling with a very important question:
“After days of trying, Darren eventually got just the two of us on a chairlift together. He took out the ring, thank god he didn’t drop it, and asked me to marry him! It was lovely to have so many friends to celebrate with – from the second we got off the chairlift!” explains Aisling.
The pair soon decided on a November wedding at Ballymagarvey Village, with Iwona and Greg from IG Studio on hand to capture all the pretty bespoke touches Aisling had spent so long planning and crafting.
Aisling chose to keep her colour scheme for the day neutral, enhancing the beauty of their surroundings. She wore a sweetheart neckline gown with full tulle skirt from The Bridal Studio. The pretty detailed belt gave just the right amount of sparkle!
“Seeing Ash arrive at the top of the aisle, looking amazing was definitely my favourite memory!” explains Darren.
“As I love baking so much, I chose to make my own dessert table as opposed to having a wedding cake. I named all the tables after my speciality cakes. I wanted a magical feel with lots of fairy lights and tea lights – which is exactly what I got! The dessert table was made out of a second hand shelving unit, that I painted, wallpapered, made bunting and signs to go with it and was very happy with the end result! I collected a lot of glass jars over time and sprayed them gold heart and added tea lights. I made the embroidered table names and put them in heart frames.” adds Aisling.
“I loved the whole morning of getting ready, hair, make up and putting on my dress for the first and last time! Also loved Darren’s speech – I was very proud of him. The first groomsman that got up to speak – who was slightly nervous – tapped the glass with a knife to get everyone’s attention and it smashed to pieces. That got rid of his nerves as everyone laughed so much! And finally, I loved the dancing – there was a lot of it!” adds Aishling.
