Sleek & Stylish Silver Wedding for Childhood Sweethearts at Ballymagarvey Village

Real Weddings

Louise and Tom chose the charming surroundings of Ballymagarvey Village to hold their laid-back and gorgeous wedding reception last May. Their day was filled with elegant and modern style and Dublin based photographer, Katie Kav captured the day beautifully. We’re delighted to share their special day, and just know you are going to find lots of inspiration for your own Big Day.

Louise and Tom met when they were just kids at a local disco. “We were childhood sweethearts, and together ever since! We practically grew up together, shared very difficult times and great times that made us grow even closer. We both knew from early on in our relationship that it was for life just didn’t think it would take us 20 years to finally get married!” said Louise.

The couple got engaged one evening when out of the blue Tom threw himself down on one knee. “I thought he had actually fallen and hurt himself! In the midst of trying to help him up I noticed the ring – I think I ruined his big moment!” added Louise.

With 18 months to plan their day, Louise and Tome visited Ballymagarvey Village and knew instantly it was the ideal venue for their day. “It’s such a beautiful venue, we fell in love with the grounds and the cool laid back atmosphere and we knew it would be the perfect place to invite our family and friends to share our big day,” explained Louise.

Louise fell in love with the Giselle gown by Australian designer, Anna Campbell, and once she decided it was the one their day evolved to include a silver colour scheme for the bridesmaids and classic black tux for the guys.

“Our day was perfect. To share our day with friends and family was definitely the highlight and watching everyone having such a good time meant so much to both of us. My Granny and Great Uncle were brilliant entertainment. They were up all night dancing with the wedding party. My Great Uncle even asked the DJ to play some line dancing songs for the last dance!” added Louise.

Louise’s Advice

Try not to get bogged down with the little things, enjoy the build up and take everything in on the day it goes so fast!
