Our real bride blogger and Editor Pam, fills us in on all her wedding prep with just four days to go until her wedding on May 31st!

See all of Pam’s other posts here!

I know I said I couldn’t believe when I was typing one month to go but I really can’t believe it’s only four days (four days!) until I’m walking down the aisle…

Last week was spent in a wedding haze – sitting on the bus to work at 7.30am in the morning, notebook out, pen going in to overdrive! While I’m fairly organised at this point, there are so many little things to keep on top of, from who to pay and when, to ‘don’t forget to pack this’ and ‘have I sorted that’? Thank God for lists.

The last few weeks have been a flurry of excitement, getting bits and pieces, lots of phone calls and emails, DIYing. DIY took longer than planned. Thankfully we’ve a little team of helpers pitching in and churning out all sorts of things I’ve dreamed up (occupational hazard, there are waaay too many nice ideas to tempt me working for weddingsonline). All the while trying to look after myself – making sure I actually cleanse at night as opposed to falling for a sneaky wipe (think of the glow!) and cooking proper meals – must get five-a-day.

Today is my last day in work before the wedding and I’m about to burst with the excitement – I am more than ready to get in to bride mode. I will be so happy to just drink in these last few days, enjoy the build up and hopefully get a bit of relaxing in there too. I have my final two dress fittings tomorrow (I get to bring it home – yay!) and have scheduled the ever essential mani and pedi etc with my mam and sis so really looking forward to these little things – a bit of quality time before the madness.

I don’t know how I’m going to be able to sleep these next few nights let alone the night before the wedding thanks to a combo of excitement and nerves (fluttering about already – I cannot imagine how I’ll feel standing outside the Church on Saturday!).

Either way, I’ll be one happy and emotional lady standing at the top of the altar this Saturday with my best friend and handsome hubby-to-be by my side. I’m a big romantic so this is a day I’ve dreamed about since I got hooked on soppy chick lit books growing up with their fairytale endings. I truly cannot wait – my very own happily ever after, celebrated just the way we want!

I’ll be back next week typing away with a brand new fáinne! ‘Til then…

P.S. Best of luck to all the other May brides and grooms tying the knot over the next few days! I hope it’s all you’ve dreamed of and more!
