Lisa and Mark met through a friend and have been together for 15 years! Their engagement story begins with a hilarious moment:

“He said that he had planned to do it the night before but I fell asleep watching telly! When I got up the kids were calling me to come down and there they were. My oldest on one knee holding the ring and my other in the walker beside her and they asked me ‘Will you marry my daddy?'”

Their wedding was postponed three times! First because of Covid and the third time because Lisa fell pregnant. The fourth date stuck and not only did they tie the knot, but they incorporated their baby’s baptism into the festivities.

Their main focus for the day was keeping the kids happy and entertained. They stuck with the same colours from their original wedding date back in 2020 and their original plans evolved.

Mark wore his army uniform and Lisa loved how it made him stand out in the photos.

Lisa wore a beautiful Romantica dress from The Bridal Lounge back at the start of 2020.

The bridesmaids wore pink Pamela Scott dresses, the junior bridesmaids wore grey and the flower girls wore pink, ivory and grey, so it all tied in together beautifully.

“Our ceremony was beautiful. The priest, Fr Fergal kept it very light hearted and cracked a few jokes and we got the baby baptised too.”

Lisa and Mark celebrated their wedding at The Bridge House Hotel.

“They were fantastic to deal with. The food was beautiful, staff were fantastic and the overall atmosphere and image of the hotel was just perfect.”

Their wedding was beautifully captured by Ken and Aine of Ken Byrne Photography.

“There is nothing I can say to recommend these two enough. To understand how amazing they are you have to see them in action. They bounce off each other and make you so at ease, even in the forest in the freezing cold.”

The video was created by Lawlor Video Memories.

“He was fantastic, he asked me what I wanted and kept checking in throughout the day. Apart from that I never noticed he was there.”

They hired a magician called Tommy Trickster to entertain guests at the arrival reception and when guests were seated for dinner. Everybody loved him, especially the big kids.

They gave guests sweet bags and toy bags for the children as wedding favours.

When asked about her favourite memory from the Big Day, Lisa said, “I remember being so nervous on the car journey out to the point I thought ‘hey whats one more date change ha’. But as soon as I stood in the porch of the church and saw Mark, all my nerves left straight away.”

Lisa and Mark shared some fabulous wedding advice:

“Don’t sweat the small stuff. I had all the big things organised for our first date in 2020 and in the last few months I was panicking about all the little details. Nobody knows what the little details were except you so people don’t notice if something is wrong. Take a few minutes to relax before the meal, the day goes by so fast.”
