Wedding Toast Tips For Guests Who Don’t Drink

Planning & Advice

Now hear me out… while most Irish wedding guests are up for several alcoholic drinks, there will always be at least a few guests who don’t drink. Wondering how to manage these guests without them feeling left out? Take a look at these super simple tips below!

Option 1: Everybody toasts with what they are already drinking

In fact, this is also a great way to save money by not offering a Prosecco toast.

When asking your guests to raise a glass for the wedding toast, simply have them use the glasses that they are already drinking from. This way, whether your guests have a glass of bubbly, a beer or a soft drink, they’ve got something to toast with.

Option 2: Serve everybody a non-alcoholic drink

If you’re only pouring drinks for the wedding toast, and allowing guests to choose their other drinks at the bar, then why not keep all your wedding toast beverages non-alcoholic. In this case you could serve a no-secco or a sparkling grape juice. Just as fancy but it’s something that everybody can drink.

Option 3: Have alcoholic and non-alcoholic options on the tables

Some venues will have drinks on the tables, where guests can top up their glasses in time for the toasts. These drinks could be anything from your wine of choice to a bottle of Prosecco, whatever you choose. In this instance, include a non-alcoholic option too, whether that’s sparkling grape juice or no-secco.

Option 4: Ask your servers to provide alcoholic and non-alcoholic options

If your servers are going around to each guest to top up their glasses, simply have them offer either alcoholic or non-alcoholic. Again, this could be wine, Prosecco or whatever you like!
