My goal is to tell the story of your day through amazing photos in the most natural way possible, and for you to really enjoy your special day.
I shoot with a relaxed style and will help you to have fun and enjoy your wedding day.
Before your day, I will work closely with you in advance of your wedding, where we can discuss what you like, to ensure we get many great photos that you will cherish forever.
Although my style is relaxed, I work very hard throughout your day, constantly watching for those magic moments that occur naturally.
Posing is kept to a minimum, but for some photos, I am happy to give direction where necessary.
With all packages, you will get a USB in a beautiful presentation box with all the photos from your day, in full resolution and un-watermarked.
When it comes to your wedding album, you have a choice of albums to choose from, and you can also choose what photos you wish to have in it, giving you full control, so that I can design an album that is bespoke and unique to you and your wedding day.
Ian Hennessy Photography is based in West Dublin, but regularly shoots weddings all over Ireland.

We got married in April and Ian was our photographer. Ian did an amazing job and we couldn’t have asked for a better photographer. He had an eye for detail and captured stunning pictures around our venue. On the day Ian blended in so well we almost forgot he was there. Ian also captured pictures of our guests having a good time which was lovely to see. Ian had our pictures returned to us within days. We could not be happier with our pictures, Ian captured the day amazingly. Ian is a true professional and I could not recommend him enough.

Ian's professionalism and ability to blend in to the background using a fluid style of photography as opposed to being overly staged/posed made us very relaxed and helped make the day look so natural. His speed at returning the completed pics were an amazing surprise. Highly recommend Ian for any occasion.

If you?re a bride and groom to be that are looking for a photographer who is talented, understands your need and relaxed and easy going on your day, look no further than Ian.
He was recommended by the wedding coordinator at our reception venue. From the start we very much liked his photography style. He was also such a pleasure to communicate and work with as he is very kind and listens attentively to what we wanted (we wanted to have key moments throughout the day captured, but we didn?t want to spend hours posing in front of a camera).
Ian and our videographer worked very well together, and very much ensured that we get to enjoy our day and spend quality time with our nearest and dearest. We especially appreciated that Ian gave us time to mingle for a while at our reception before we had our formal photos taken. And even for these shots, everything was very relaxed and quick.
Speaking of quick, we are delighted with how quickly Ian sent our final shots!
We couldn?t recommend Ian enough, and are very grateful that we chose him to capture our wedding day.

Ian was our wedding photographer in December 2022. From the first contact we knew that we were in good hands. Ian was always there to answer any questions or queries that we had, and was very reassuring in all communications. We couldn't have asked for a better photographer on the day - as two people who don't love photoshoots, Ian (& Tyler Fallon videographer) kept us both so relaxed and made the 'taking photos' part of the day fun. Taking the bride and groom photos ended up being one of our favourite parts of the day. Ian kept us laughing and feeling relaxed and comfortable. His documentary style meant he was capturing the day as it unfolded, which is what we wanted. On top of him being amazing to work with on the wedding day, we received the most amazing photos a few days later. He captured all the little moments that, as the bride and groom, we were inevitably going to miss. I knew we wouldn't be disappointed with Ian but we were absolutely blown away by how much we loved our photos. They will be treasured forever. Ian was absolutely great to work?with! Calm and professional sum him up perfectly. In the lead up to the wedding he guided?us through the whole day, we felt very at ease after the chat. He was great with the kids at the wedding. He was able to capture?some really lovely moments for us, especially in the morning preparations. The turnaround of the pics was super fast. He also worked with a great videographer called Andy, a lovely fella and a fantastic videographer. The two of them worked seamlessly together! Highly recommend!

Ian had previously been the photographer at my sisters wedding a few years before mine and had such a great experience with him that once my partner and I began wedding planning we knew we wanted to book Ian immediately. We're so delighted he was available for our date and couldn't have been happier with our experience! Ian is a real professional who listened to what we would like and always made us feel comfortable in front of the camera. We even didn't notice him taking photos at times so got some beautiful candid photos. He was unbelievably quick in sending us our pictures which included the prettiest wooden USB! Just want to say thanks again to Ian for taking part of our day and giving us the photos to remember it forever, we absolutely love every single one!

I would highly recommend Ian! He understood straight away what we wanted - we wanted the day captured but also didn?t want to spend too long away from our guests. Ian and our Videographer Tyler Fallon worked great together - they captured so many beautiful shots of the whole day! It?s hard to put into words how grateful we are that Ian photographed our big day! His manor was so calm yet professional and fun yet direct, the perfect combinations. He was so patient with our little girl & captured her personality to a tee! When we got engaged two years ago we immediately booked Ian for our wedding photography as we had heard so much about his fantastic work and had seen some of his beautiful photography work.

Ian photographed our wedding and he did an outstanding job. We wanted a mix of candid and staged shots, and Ian was more than happy to oblige. He has a very chilled out demeanour, and he put us at ease in the run up to the wedding and on the say itself. He turned around the photos and video incredibly quickly and to an exceptional standard. He was also very accommodating with us, especially considering all the changes that were forced on us through Covid restrictions. Would highly recommend Ian for wedding photography/videography and for any other event

We are absolutely delighted that we chose Ian Hennessy Photography for our Wedding Day! It was nice and relaxed from our first chat with Ian and from that, he knew exactly the type of Photos that we wanted for our Wedding. He also done some Videography for the Wedding too which was fantastic.
We did the main Family Photos in the Church and then we went to a Forest Park for our own Photos. Very relaxed all day! Amazing Photos that we will have forever. Ian was always without a doubt going to be our wedding photographer. We didn?t even look at anyone else?s week, we were that sure.
Ian was the perfect gentleman for the entire day. From the moment he stepped into my parents house until he left the Hodson Bay Hotel that night, he was nothing short of amazing. From giving us little tips to helping with the cufflinks and button holes, he really was a massive part of our day and helped wherever he could. I doubt you get that with many photographers.
The idea of having someone with a camera in my face all day was very daunting, but Ian had my husband and I feeling very relaxed and comfortable. Ian?s approach to photography is so relaxed and natural, which is exactly what we wanted. We didn?t want our wedding photos looking really staged and edited.
Because Ian was going on holidays shortly after our wedding, he got straight to getting our photos ready. I still couldn?t believe how quickly he sent them to us. Hundreds of photos. He really captured to love and happiness in the day and and we literally couldn?t be happier with them. The more I look at them, the more I enjoy them ???? I really love having such beautiful photos that hold such precious memories ??

First time I met him was on my wedding morning. He is a kind, polite man and got to work straight away, he had us feeling relaxed and I didn?t feel self conscious at all! We got our highlight pictures back so fast after the wedding and they blew me away! They were so flattering and they told the story of day so so well. I highly recommend Ian. I wouldn?t change a thing.

I would highly recommend Ian as a wedding photographer. He was prompt in all of his communication with us, and was a pleasure to have around on our wedding day. He was relaxed and pleasant, but yet remained focused on the job, getting great photos. Our photographs were ready and waiting for us when we got back from honeymoon, and we are delighted with them. His costs were great value and reasonable , but that did not take from his quality of work at all.
We were delighted with our photos and have so many that we will treasure forever.
After the madness of the wedding is over, all you have is the photos to looks back on and you will get fabulous photos from Ian.

I would highly recommend Ian. From the first moment we spoke I had a gut feeling that he was the right photographer for us - professional but not over-bearing! On the day itself, he was excellent. Getting ready that morning we hardly noticed he was there yet he managed to take some really special photos. The photos he took throughout the day were beautiful and natural. Paul and I can't thank Ian enough for the beautiful wedding photography he did for us. He got some brilliant natural shots, he's so polite and professional . He did such a unique photo slide show and took over 500 photo which were delivered to us with in the week! Such great service! And excellent value for money. My husband and I had a 12 o clock ceremony so early start for Ian he arrived as promised at 8.30 that morning didn't stop till after 4 or 5 dances as promised all through day Ian didn't stop trying to get best pictures possible he also took my husband and I off to get sum I actually just wanted to party but no Ian had to be sure he got the best I would highly recommend his professional and love he put into what he done. And would use him again hope not a wedding of my own lol but for other gatherings

Brilliant photographer, capture ever moment you wouldnt think off,very happy with my photos, both me and my husband over the moon with them, my tip for a bride is,if you have in mind what photos you want, tell him on the day as he's taking them,,only you know what you would like,I done this with Ian and he was delighted that I was showing and asking for photos to be taking a certain way,cos today as I sit here and look at my photos I know there what I asked for...very quick service too..my wedding the 9th September today the 20th and I've seen all my photos, delighted to come off honeymoon to see my pictures, thanks Ian onces again,job well done.????

You we're plesent and so easy to deal with, you blended into our wedding day and took some beautiful shots both posed and oblivious to us. You were plesent to us an our guests. The quality of your work is fantastic and we could not have asked for anymore than what you gave us. Ian was absolutely fabulous. Anything I wanted he was more than helpful. .. I would highly recommend him as not only is he value for money but the service I received that you will too was a++++++ I cannot recommend him enough... I got such high quality photos and such beautiful shots I didn't even think was possible...

Ian was our wedding photographer in Oct '13, I can't believe it's two years ago already! He took care of everything, from photos for the full wedding day right through to til late in the evening and even designing the wedding album. He was extremely professional throughout and made it a very enjoyable experience for us both, making sure to get all the little quirky shots we wanted along with the more important posed ones of family and friends. The finished photos and album are amazing and we couldn't be happier with his work. To top it all off, Ian also gave us the full resolution photos on disc (unlike most photographers) and was very keenly priced. We would definitely recommend him to anyone! Mr & Mrs Concannon
