Creating ceremonies to capture love stories
After years of capturing precious moments through the lens of my camera from being a professional family and wedding photographer, I decided to change paths, continuing my passion for celebrating love stories as a wedding celebrant.
Becoming a wedding celebrant allowed me to continue working in a field I love, celebrating the joyful occasion of weddings. My years behind the camera gave me a unique perspective on weddings, an eye for detail, and an understanding of what makes each celebration special. Now, instead of capturing moments from the sidelines, I work closely with couples to create ceremonies that truly reflect their love story.
For me officiating a wedding is far more than reading a script. Each ceremony is personalised to suit the couple’s values, personalities and their journey together. I spend time getting to know each couple, listening to their ideas and wishes ensuring their ceremony feels meaningful and memorable.
I live with my husband, Gerard, on an organic farm in Cork, where we raised our four children. Some of my most cherished moments as a celebrant have been within my own family – officiating the wedding of our son Harry to his wife Shauna, and later leading baby naming ceremonies for our grandchildren, Sophie and James. Those occasions were incredibly special to me. It’s a privilege to be part of these milestones.
What I enjoy most about my work is the opportunity to meet people at such a joyful stage in their lives. Every couple brings a unique story, and I find it deeply rewarding to help them express that in a way that feels authentic. Many couples invite me back for naming ceremonies as their families grow, which I considers a wonderful continuation of the relationship.
For me, every ceremony is an honour. Standing with two people as they make such an important commitment is something I never take for granted. Helping them create a ceremony that feels personal and heartfelt is the best part of what I do.
I am HSE Registered Solemniser, this means I can Legally Solemnise your marriage
Putting a ceremony together takes a lot of care and commitment.
My fee starts at €450 within Cork County this includes the €100 deposit.
I always strive for excellence and want to be the Best Celebrant possible for you and deliver the most beautiful and memorable wedding ceremony on your 'Big Day'.

You were honestly the star of the day and everyone has been commenting on what a lovely ceremony it was and how they felt like you were talking to each of them individually. My mum is disappointed she forgot to thank you before you left. All of my friends have mentioned how lovely you were.

Kathryn was an amazing celebrant and we really can't recommend her enough. We had Zoom calls in advance as we planned our wedding from London - she helped us plan out every last detail of the ceremony, gave helpful advice and reassuring words before the big day. From the moment we started our wedding planning there was never any doubt who would marry us. Kathryn was always going to marry us. We aren't church goers so it was never felt like an option for us. Catherine made the whole process so easy from start to finish. She made the whole experience easy and stress free. She sat down with the both of us before the wedding and together with us she made the ceremony for us we would never have envisioned. COVID was in full swing at the time but this didn't stop Kathryn professionalism and drive to create our amazing day.She even kept a secret about a surprise visitor we had coming on the day. I couldn't recommend Kathryn enough and If anyone would like to contact me personally I'm sure Kathryn will pass on my details and I can sing her praises personally. We found Kathryn online, and not through recommendation because both of us are migrants here and we do not know many people in Cork. But we were so thrilled to be wedded by her. She was so calm, professional, and made the wedding ceremony a joy rather than something stressful. She paid attention to our cultural differences, and her pace of performing the ceremony was attuned to audience. We cannot recommend her more.

We booked Kathryn all the way back in December 2018 after our engagement in September 2018 but we were only finally able to have our dream day two weeks ago! From the beginning Kathryn was fantastic to deal with, such a warm and sincere person. We had to reschedule a few times due to covid and personal family circumstances and Kathryn was so accommodating. Kathryn created a beautifully warm and meaningful ceremony for my husband Martin and I which everyone spoke so highly of afterwards. We asked Kathryn to be the minister at our marriage ceremony as we wanted to have a more relaxed wedding day but at the same time wanted to ensure that our vows and the whole ceremony were as special for us and our friends and family as could be.

Because of Covid 19 regulations we had to cut back on our numbers so we had a mini micro wedding with just family in my parents garden instead of the church and hotel we had booked for the larger group. Contacting Kathryn was honestly the best decision we made. We were able to go ahead with our wedding.

We were meant to do the big Irish wedding in June with Kathryn as our celebrant but Covid arrived and stopped that. However, we decided that we wanted to go ahead with a very small outdoor ceremony when it started to become clear that the big wedding wouldnt be happening for the foreseeable future. Kathryn was absolutely fantastic and so flexible and professional. Nothing was too big an ask and she made our day so special and relaxed and we loved every second of it. Hopefully next year we will do the large wedding and have a small ceremony with Kathryn again. The 18 people at the wedding all commented on how lovely and genuine Kathryn was and how she made the ceremony very enjoyable and personal. "Kathryn is wonderful! We were abroad while we planned the wedding which wasn't a problem as Kathryn made it easy to do everything via email so that we could still create a ceremony that felt very personal to us. Our wedding day was quite windy and we had a planned a candle lighting ceremony - Kathryn switched things around to make sure that it would all work and that we didn't have to worry at all. She also made sure to come and meet us both before the ceremony and run through things. As well as addressing all important family members.

We had the pleasure of having Kathryn officiate at our wedding a few weeks ago and could not recommend her more highly. We really wanted an intimate and meaningful ceremony that would reflect us both and Kathryn could not have done more to facilitate this. Kathryn was absolutely brilliant in both the planning and on the day! Planning a wedding is not easy but Kathryn is so helpful and kind and willing to help in every way. We had a beautiful ceremony that involved the whole family and having it outside made it so special for us. Having Kathryn as our minister was a no brainer for us. Kathryn is a lovely lady she is very considerate and gets to know you as a couple before putting together your ceremony. For our ceremony we also had a priest come and give a blessing and Kathryn couldn't of been more accommodating she incorporated this into our ceremony and told us it's your day so it's all about what ye want. She is very understanding and such an easy person to work with and get along with. Kathryn made our day so special and unique to us. She put a lot of time and detail into her ceremony so it was personal to us the couple. Since our wedding we have been told by our guests that it was one of the nicest ceremonies they have been to and so professional yet personal at the same time. We honestly couldn't fault Kathryn she is amazing at what she does and an amazing, kind and lovely lady.

Kathryn was exactly what we were looking for. We are from California, and were traveling to Europe for the first time. We found her by browsing online and reading reviews. All of the reviews were so awesome, so we decided to contact her. First off- we met Kathryn over email and phone- and planned everything that way. She is honestly such a lovely and kind person- that shines through even the emails.
We didn't really know exactly where we wanted to do the ceremony. It was just the two of us- so we wanted it super simple and meaningful. Kathryn had several ideas for us. We were able to explore different spots online and when we arrived to Ardmore pick one out. She was able to bring along a friend for the photography- who was just as lovely as she was. The two of them together was perfect- we could not have asked for a better duo. Kathryn went above and beyond- helping us with the type of ceremony, vows, tying of the knot, and beautiful paperwork representing the day.
She provided us with exactly what we were looking for - simple, meaningful, comfortable, beautiful backdrop, and memories we will cherish forever.

We heard about Kathryn from Friends who had the pleasure to experience her at another Wedding. We already had great expectations because she came so highly recommended but she still toped them. From the first meeting she made us feel comfortable , she showed us the way to get the ceremony we wanted. She was contactable and approachable all the way through to the big day. There was all the E-Mails with the helpful tips, calming solid advice and ideas. Even when the Groom forgot his words she stepped in and helped him out with confidence. She has impressed many of our guest and can expect referrals from our loved ones when their time comes.

We can not recommend Kathryn enough for all the work she did for us at our wedding. She was able to make the ceremony exactly to our liking; and it was kept intimate and romantic. The room was filled with love and felt so peaceful and I believe Kathryn really contributed to this.

Kathryn legally married us on 12th January 2019. We first met Kathryn at her home, we sat over a pot of tea and chocolate biscuits and she allowed us to comfortably open up to her.
We were not sure if we were going to go down the church route. She was so thorough and really made a genuine effort to get to know you as a couple.
She helped us to relax and to remember what the importance was about our special day.

We are especially grateful to her for all our Skype calls and emails ..us living in Australia. From start to finish Kathryn was absolutely amazing. Our ceremony was so lovely and I wouldn't have had it any other way. Our guests were blown away and really enjoyed the ceremony.

We were delighted with Kathryn in every way. We found her very professional and efficient but also very warm and personable. She is a very perceptive woman and from our earliest communications I felt she 'got us" and the first draft of the ceremony she wrote for us was excellent so much so we barely changed it! She provided lovely ideas to make the day so memorable. She even wrote out our personal vows on beautiful cards as lovely keepsakes. As she undertook the ceremony with us you could clearly see she was putting her heart into it. She loves what she does and it shows! So many of our family and friends commented on her and how special she made the ceremony. I have already recommended her to three friends who are planning weddings!

Morgan and I set out to have a "get away/destination" wedding. We scoured the areas for a good venue and minister.
In our searches we found a perfect venue Bantry House, in Bantry Ireland and Kathryn, the perfect minister. We planned our destination wedding from thousands of miles away (Portland, OR) and it wouldn't have been possible without Kathryns help and guidance, reassuring us through our doubts and always answering our questions. The time difference was never a problem, Kathryn always made sure to work with our schedules, we were impressed.
Kathryn, performed our ceremony flawlessly. Helping me (the groom) with all the loose ends on the big day while also getting her own setup finished.
She made the ceremony, special as well as warm and heartfelt. Pulling from both Morgan and I's feelings from one another and the immense support our family had for both of us. She included local wedding traditions to give us the full experience of getting married in Ireland.

wddding would have been possible without Kathryns help, we appreciated everything she did for us and were really impressed by her performance.

From our first meeting with Kathryn, I totally relaxed as I knew she would enable us to have a beautiful, intimate and personalised ceremony. That was exactly the feedback and praise we got for Kathryn after the ceremony, with lots of people commenting how special and authentic it was and confessions of a few tears being shed! She was a calming, professional and warm presence throughout. After our initial meeting she created lots of options for the ceremony, and it was so easy to pick what suited us. On the day itself she put everyone at ease and just went with the flow, allowing that space for the beautiful unexpected moments to shine through. I think this is what most impressed me and I think what enables her to offer ceremonies that really fit and reflect different couples. I can't imagine my wedding day without Kathryn and I will forever treasure the memories she helped us create, I really believe no one could have done it like her. I recommend her unreservedly.

Katherine was excellent as our wedding solemniser and was so easy to communicate with if we had any questions. She was fantastic and amazing on the day itself and we got such lovely positive feedback from family and other guests about how 'sound? she was and how helpful she was when setting up the outside ceremony. Kathryn was absolutely amazing! She is competent, organised, reliable and professional. She helped us to ensure that our ceremony reflected who we were as a couple. It was non-religious but she managed to add a ?blessing of the hands? ceremony which added some importance and spirituality to our ceremony, she really went out of her way to create a unique and memorable experience for all our family and friends. Feedback was so positive and we were delighted to involve so many of them in our wedding ceremony. They said they had never witnessed a ceremony like the one we had which included a balloon release in memory of my mother Anne and James's father Tommy to the music I believe in Angels. The hand-fasting also involved our guests. Thank you so much Kathryn!

Minister Kathryn Cashman helped us put together the perfect ceremony. The one we had dreamed of. She listened to us with amazing attention to detail and was so nice to work with, her energy was calming and positive over the time we emailed and met with her. We wanted something small, intimate and something a little different. She was able to include a piece of everything we asked for and more. Kathryn helped us to understand all we needed to know before and during our wedding regarding the legal side. We had the hand fasting ceremony and we included our family. To say that Kathryn was amazing, would be the biggest understatement of the year! From the very first point of contact, Kathryn has been nothing but kind, helpful and extremely patient. Myself and my husband Miche?l, have always been very laid back and last minute kind of people. This sometimes proves difficult for others, but Kathryn took us in her stride :) The ceremony was perfect. This wouldn't have been the case only for Kathryn, as we weren't really sure what we wanted. We just knew we wanted the ceremony to be simple but meaningful. Our true sense of selves was present throughout the whole day, and every aspect of the ceremony had a personal touch or element to it. Kathryn made us feel so at ease and calmly guided us through each step so that it was like everyone else in the room disappeared and we could focus on each other and soak in each moment.
Kathryn worked with us from our first meeting to get to know us and understand who we are as a couple, our family and what was most important to us for our marriage in order to deeply personalise each part of the ceremony and make every part of it profound and resounding in our memories forever.
Kathryn was also, very practically, part of the team on the day.
She provided us with print outs of our vows and readings and reminded us to send them to her to be printed the night before during all the business of wedding prep.
She also provided candles, stands for them and ribbons for parts of the ceremony such as hand fasting, tissues for happy tears and was working away quietly in the background while we were running around lighting the candles on the aisle we forgot to light before the ceremony. 💖
We couldn’t recommend her more!
