Lord Bagenal Inn

The Lord Bagenal was a fantastic location for our wedding, especially with the beautiful Christmas decorations up all throughout the hotel. Our wedding coordinator Sue was excellent to deal with throughout the whole process, and the package we decided on was brilliant value for money too. Would highly recommend this hotel for a wedding.

We originally booked our wedding with the Lord Bagenal Hotel for 4/7/2020. From our first meeting with Sue at one of the hotels wedding fairs we knew that we would really be taken care of and that we had made the right decision.
Unfortunately, due to covid - we made the decision to postpone our wedding to the following year. 2021 came around which saw the birth of our second child, and so we reached out to the hotel to ask if we could postpone once again. Sue was so supportive and flexible, after a couple more date changes we finally decided on 22/7/23.
Due to a family bereavement, we once more had to postpone our wedding 5 days before the date, I phoned Sue to advise her and once again she was so good and professional. She told us not to worry that they would take care of everything. Herself and the team were so very sympathetic and caring and we couldn't thank them more for this. I expect not all venues would be as understanding.
We eventually rescheduled our date to 1/12/23, and we have to say the day could not have gone smoother. Sue even greeted us on the steps as we arrived even though it was her day off. Niall was an absolute superstar, nothing seemed to phase him. So approachable and friendly, and the banquet staff and bar staff were also wonderful.
I would recommend the Lord Bagenal to anyone considering it as a wedding venue. They made us feel like family, and it was such a comfort getting to know everyone so well over the years. We wouldn't change one thing about the day, thank you once more to the Hotel and amazing staff. We will never forget your kindness.
We weren't the most straightforward of wedding clients, but nothing ever seemed like a problem. Our decor florist let us down that week, and Sue was once again so comforting as she organised flowers for us on the day on very short notice.
We are truly so grateful.

From the first meeting with Sue everything was perfect. We weren't sure what we wanted but she was so helpful, organised, and accommodating and took all the stress off. The communication leading up was great and the day of couldn't have been any easier. The food was amazing and all the staff on the day were incredible. I would highly recommend anyone work with the Bagenal for their wedding.

We have recently had our big day in Lord Bagenal Inn & words cannot describe the level of professionalism from every single member of staff. We ourselves had a few hiccups along the way & could not have had the most amazing day without Sue & all the team helping us. Our guests are still talking about it!

We recently got married in The Lord Bagenal Inn and couldn't recommend it highly enough. James, Sue and Niall are so easy to deal with and not one of our many requests were an issue. We truly enjoyed our day, from the amazing drinks reception, the beautiful hotel and the outstanding food, it was all just way above our expectations. The hotel went above and beyond, nothing was too much hassle for them especially Niall who was very helpful and ensured our whole day ran smoothly. We just wish we could do it all again. From the day we booked our wedding with Niall the Lord Bagenal was so accommodating. Sue went out of her depth to assist us with our many questions. She was so professional and helpful. The staff was so pleasant and helpful. Food was amazing, our guests still speak about it. We had the most magical intimate wedding ceremony and reception. The grounds of the hotel were truly amazing for the pictures and we had the most beautiful amd magical day.

From the day we booked our big day Sue, Niall and all the staff were welcoming and friendly to the highest standard. We had our wedding ceremony and reception here in October 2019. The hotel is beautiful the staff are amazing and the food excellent.
From planning the wedding with Sue to booking the rooms with Michael and the day itself with Niall, everything was coordinated to perfection and ran flawlessly. All of those mentioned and all other staff we dealt with were extremely professional and helpful, they really are lovely people and made our day perfect. We would highly highly recommend The Lord Bagenal Inn for any wedding, the team are absolutely fantastic and when they say ?your wedding your way? they really mean it.

One week married today and what an experience it has been! Our wedding day truly was the best day of our lives and our experience with the Lord Bagenal made it all fall into place so easily.
From the moment we spoke to Sue to checking out of the hotel after our day 2 celebrations, we were treated as if we were the only couple on their minds. Any request from us, the bridal party or wedding guests was fulfilled with no problem. Everyone has commented on the standard of food and how excellent it was.

In the lead up to our wedding we dealt with Sue and she went through everything in detail but it didn't take too much time to do this. She makes it sound so easy and she is obviously really well experienced at managing weddings. Indeed brides are advised by online forums to check x,y and z with the hotel, there was nothing to bring to the hotels attention.

On the day the hotel looked fab, the atmosphere was lively, the staff were fast, accurate and very welcoming. There was flowers everywhere, as my family arrived first with baskets and bits, these were taken from them at the front door. Guests and family all remarked how lovely and spacious the hotel bedrooms were. Guests loved the food and with Sues help we were delighted with the menu they created for us. There really was no worries or concerns with the lord bagenal.

Niall on the day fully took on the event and ushered us and reminded us of all the parts to include-other wise we would have stayed chatting to guests all day and forgot to do the customs-wedding cake etc. Niall was a gem on the day and always on hand to make sure we were happy, comfortable etc.

The residents bar was really welcoming and the Lord Bagenal really came across as welcoming, generous with their time, accurate to the details so a huge thank you. We really feel like we got great value for money also. Thanks again to all the hard work and your great service.

My wife and I chose the Lord Bagenal Inn as our wedding location for a number of reasons. Firstly, I have been visiting since I was a child and it is one of my family's favourite places to go for dinner in the area. Secondly, their prices and menu were excellent and fitted perfectly into our budget especially with all of the complimentary extras like flowers, center pieces and family suites that they provide. Finally, I have been to family weddings there in the past and enjoyed every second of the care and attention given to the guests not to mention the couples. Both sets of couples also highly recommended the venue. Needless to say, it certainly didn't disappoint!

Our guests could not find a fault with the food. The amount of people that commented on the quality (and quantity) of the food let's you know the delicious meal we received. My dad and fellow bride were also delighted with the wine choices and really enjoyed choosing the wines for the evening. Every member of staff we encountered from Sue the wedding planner to Neill who took care of us on the day, the ladies on the front desk and the security guards that let the foreigners use their mobile numbers as a contact number for the taxi's at night, took care of us to the highest level.

The venue is beautifully laid out and convenient even for people that are not as mobile as others and again, the staff were there to assist any guests that required it. Close by there are many beautiful locations available for your photos - around the actually hotel, down by the bridge and river or at Garrison House close by. Our wedding album is made even more picturesque because of the hotel.

The only thing that made our day better that I could have expected was breakfast the next morning. This is a wonderful wedding location and I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

We chose the Lord Bagenal over some other hotels that had better priced packages because it offers more character than many other hotels in the locality.
We had both the ceremony and the reception at the hotel, they had the Marina Room set up beautifully for both events.
Sue was very helpful in organising the whole day and on the day itself Niall was tremendously attentive to both ourselves and our guests.
Each and everyone of our guests were genuinely impressed with the meal and the venue. Some even regarded it as one of the best wedding meals they had. The quality was top notch.

We had an amazing wedding day thanks to Sue, Niall, Mike and all of the staff at the Lord Bagenal. They couldn't have been more accommodating and the planning was a breeze thanks to their expertise. All of our guests commented on the quality of the food, great service and how well the hotel looked. The rooms were lovely too. The day from start to finish was relaxed and stress free. We had a tailored wedding, from food and fine weather.... everyone is still talking about the fantastic setting of the Lord Baganel hotel, river side setting amazing service friendly staff and food to feed a king. Would have no problem advising a couple to book this facility for an amazing day which will be stress free... from James to Sue and all the staff they get everything right.

Such an amazing day, they accommodated all our needs, and Sue is brilliant, she arranged our wedding reception whilst we were in England. Food was excellent could not fault it. Service was brilliant. We had such a great day.

The Lord Bagenal is an absolutely fantastic wedding venue.We are over the moon with the treatment we and our 290 guests received here.No stone was left unturned.Every little detail was perfect.The food was delicious and hot. Our guests are still raving about it.People also commented on how nice all of the staff were.James the manager/owner and Sue the wedding planner were especially great to deal with.They really made us feel so important, like we were the only wedding ever to take place there even though they have weddings every week!
There is lovely natural light coming into the ballroom during dinner.The dance floor is beside the bar.The lobby is fab for drinks reception and there is an outdoor deck to sit at the river if the weather cooperates!We also hosted a bbq the day after the wedding and this too was lovely.It is also worth mentioning that the staff in the residents bar are very accommodating.Choosing this hotel was the best decision we could ever have made for our wedding!

I couldn't fault The Lord Bagenal in any way. Outstanding food and service from beginning to end. Sue was so accomodating, nothing was a problem, she came up with a range of solutions/options for any questions I had about how to work an aspect of the wedding. James was fantastic on the day, everything ran like clockwork.

Our wedding in The Lord Bagenal Hotel was everything we hoped it would be. The service was exceptional, people are still telling us how lovely their meal was and we couldn't have asked for any better from both Sue and James. They really accommodated us and listened to what we wanted for our big day. Everything was perfect and it was a gorgeous setting to start our married life together.

We had our wedding in the Lord bagenal May 2015 and have to say that both Sue and James were fantastic to work with. They catered for all our guests needs. Food on the day was amazing we still have people complimenting the food. The service on the day was excellent all the staff were so helpful. We had a sweet table on the day which the staff set up for us too and everything went smoothly on the day. I would most definitely recommend the Lord bagenal for their top class service.

Fab setting on a sunny day, our guests loved the decking by the river, so relaxed. Great food and plenty of it! Sue was always there to respond to all of my calls and emails quickly.
