Are you dreaming of something a little different for your wedding day? Look no further than the peaceful surroundings of Mount Druid, Castletown Geoghegan, Co. Westmeath, an exquisite parkland within 100 acres, sprinkled with over 200,000 broad leaf trees and with its very own lake and boat house.

At Mount Druid we host wonderful boutique wedding receptions and ceremonies on our grounds and invite you to come and see the surrounds here as the setting for your own unique wedding day.

We have luxury alternative accommodation available for your guests on site as well as a several distinct spaces that will suit a range of requirements.

We are proud to offer several distinctive spaces for your boutique wedding reception for up to 200 guests:
- The Tin Chapel for your ceremony
- The Summer House and new Boat House for drinks reception by the lake
- The Barn for dinner and dancing

The Chapel:
Ceremonies can be carried out in our unconsecrated ‘Chapel’, an alternative, quaint gathering space nestled among the trees on our site. The ‘Tin Chapel’ is perfect for a simple blessing.

Castletown Geoghegans Catholic Church is just across the road from Mount Druid – you can be married at the Church and then stroll across the road to Mount Druid for your wedding reception festivities.

The Summer House and ‘new’ Boat House:
After your ceremony enjoy a short stroll across the hill to the Summer House for your drinks reception. This is a beautiful space overlooking the lake. Our new enclosed ‘Boat House’ gives you the opportunity to have your drinks reception at the lake no matter what the weather – a huge wood burning stove in the centre keeps everyone cosy.

The Barn:
Our converted ‘Barn’ is a boutique function room with a difference - perfect for your meal and dancing. Decorated in a gorgeous combination of shabby chic with antique and restored furniture. We can seat up to 200 guests.

An outdoor BBQ area and fireplace is located at the rear within our walled garden.

Anything is worth discussing with us. Only an hour from Dublin and Galway.

We had our wedding in Mount Druid in October 2022. Our main points of contact were Margaret and Eleanor, they were so lovely to deal with throughout the entire process as were any of the rest of the team we communicated with. From our first showing to the day itself, we felt like we were being valued. Nothing was too much trouble and they answered our many many questions with patience and professionalism. The venue itself is amazing. It was exactly the atmosphere we wanted for our wedding day. The food was gorgeous (we had the bbq buffet) and the accommodation was so cozy. We had an absolute ball and if we could go back and do it all again, we wouldn’t hesitate. Highly recommend!

We couldn't recommend Mount Druid enough. It is a dream wedding venue. We wanted a laid back chilled affair and that's what we got. Everything was exactly how we imagined it was going to be and better. The food was to die for and the staff were all so lovely. We just wish we could do it all over again!

Mount druid was the 1st place we went to see when we were planning our wedding and we both fell in love with it straight away. The tin chapel was the perfect setting for our ceremony. We then moved ober to the baothouse for our drinks reception and then onto the barn for dinner. Between all the staff and the wedding coordinators - nothing was a problem. The venue itself is so amazing. If you're looking for an alternative wedding, this is the place you should be getting married in.

Our dream venue was everything and more than we could have visited for. Exclusive, Rustic, Boho, with festival vibes, turf fires, and an atmosphere that warms you from the inside out. I pinch myself everytime I think of our wedding day x the staff were phenomenal and a dream to work with x

Mount Druid was a great venue to deal with, the staff are very responsive and were amazing on the day! The venue itself is beautiful, you can tell so much careful thought and effort has gone into designing both the interiors and exteriors. Highly recommend!

Had the most wonderful two days at my daughters wedding last Saturday week. What a venue ! Fantastic site and all easily accessible especially with the helpful staff such as the really nice car drivers who are happy to take you from place to place in the old black taxis or minibuses. If you want atmosphere at your event then this is the place to be. We used the fabulous Boat house the night before the wedding day and it was a great spot to meet and greet and make sure to avail of he pizza ovens, Delicious pizzas. The excellent staff led by Margaret, Eleanor and Deirdre work very hard to make your day a success so you don't need to worry as they really do look after everything and are very approachable, Definitely the best wedding I have ever been at, even if it was my own daughters, I Fully endorse Mount Druid and love to go back sometime.

We cannot recommend Mount Druid more. From day 1 the entire team were so helpful and were always at the end of the phone. The venue is so incredible; unique, personal and just so special. However, it really is Eleanor, Deirdre and Margaret and all the team that make it magnificent. I can't explain how many compliments we have received about Mount Druid since the wedding. Many said they had never been to a wedding like it. We would pick it as our venue time and time again.

We visited Mount druid on a rainy day, the barn was emptied for a photoshoot. But the second we were on the grounds we realised how magical and unbelievable it was. This was us! Odd, eclectic, different and somehow work together. We booked it ! and came back twice to see it again, it is so vast! I spent a year and a half planning details, looking at other weddings that happened in mount druid to see the pieces of history, for those details to integrate with our items to mount druid. For this Responsiveness was key! The venue is a gem that pictures rarely describe to its fullest, you have to visit it. The food was unbelievable and was one of the main things for us! the people took good care of everything! They were there but faded in the background. It was easy and flowy. The only downfall is the price and the busy calendar. But I guess that's because it is famous now, and that's all I wish them. I would recommend it to anybody, it has a soft glamour, it's a jewellery box. And Margaret and Eleanor are real pearls.

We recently had our wedding at Mount Druid and it was absolutely magical! From start to finish the day went smoothly and the staff were fantastic to not only us but to our guests also which many commented on. The venue, the food I genuinely cannot say enough. It was my dream wedding day and I wish I could do it again. You will not find a wedding venue like this, peaceful unique and so much fun!

Don’t even think twice, just go for it. Mount Druid is hands down the best wedding venue I have ever been to. Even if it was my own wedding! There’s no denying it’s expensive - the drinks and food particularly but the quality and ambience are really worthwhile.

We had the best weekend of our lives in Mount Druid. The lead up was made so easy by Eleanor who was able to answer a million questions, and always within a day or two. Everyone who was staying on site would tell us how friendly the staff were on the phone when making reservations. On the day, despite the rain, everyone was moved around the grounds effortlessly and we didn't even notice the weather. Day two was even better. Breakfast for guests is a bit pricey, and it would be nice if there was water in the rooms but other than that we had a perfect weekend and wouldn't change a thing!

The team at Mount Druid are amazing. Eleanor, Margaret, Deirdre and Adrian went above and beyond to make our wedding day spectacular. Eleanor and Margaret were so supportive and a pleasure to deal with. We were made feel so at home on our wedding day. Mount Druid is a stunning venue and our guests say our wedding will always stand out to them. The food was delicious; from canapes on the wedding day right right through to breakfast the next morning. The onsite accommodation is really special too. If you're looking for something a bit different, check it out. It was love at first sight for us!

I can't recommend Mount Druid enough. We got married on the 19th April 2018 and from the moment we booked we had so much support from Eleanor and Margaret. The day itself went off without a hitch, the ladies were on hand along with Deirdre to ensure everything ran smoothly, we didn't have to lift a finger! We had a fantastic wedding day in Mount Druid and all our guests were extremely impressed with the venues from the boat house for drinks reception, barn for our BBQ (Food was amazing!!) Granny's Kitchen and the accommodation. Everyone loved it! I have been recommending Mount Druid ever since!

Mount Druid truly made our wedding day the best day of my life. From the day we went to view it, everything ran so smoothly and were so accommodating. We wanted something different and laid back from our day and Mount Druid ticked all our boxes.The venue itself is jaw dropping, the food was incredible, the accommodation was so cosy (even in March!) and our guests were full of praises. I couldn't have enjoyed the experience more!

Fantastic venue.Staff could not have been more helpful,nothing too much trouble.From the"loft"for brides prep to the kitchen for breakfast next morning and everything in between.Can't praise the place enough,nothing negative to say.

Everything was truly amazing. We even had the weather. Our guests were astounded by how beautiful the venue and food was. The wine was expensive and over priced but everything else was excellent on the day. The staff were so helpful and received our guests wonderfully

The venue were on hand every step of the way to answer all of our questions - big, small or just bloody stupid! Being in the UK and organising an Irish Wedding was made so easy thanks to the openess and helpfulness of everyone at the venue. Never once did we feel like we were being "uphold" anything - and actually most of the time they helped us save money on things we though we would need but they said we wouldn't. Our guests had the time of their lives as did we - we are already talking about when to arrange a reunion back at Mount Druid! The food was spectacular and we never had to worry about there not being enough food or drink - our guests were well fed and watered and the bars well stocked!

Thank you so much to Adrian, Deirdre, Eavan and all the team at Mount Druid for helping us to create our perfect wedding! The venue was amazing – all of our family and friends thoroughly enjoyed the yurts, the beautiful barns and the gardens. Organising everything with you during the lead-up was a breeze, you were so accommodating and relaxed on the big day, there were no problems at all. The Tin Chapel was a fantastic setting for our ceremony and the procession there of all the guests is one of my favorite memories of the day. 10/10, 5 stars and 2 thumbs up, you are wonderful people who have created a wonderful place!

We love this place to the ends of the earth and back… Say what? Yes, we literally went to the ends of the world and back, looking at venues across the globe before finding our perfect venue, just 10 miles from home. We were incredibly lucky to have found Mount Druid, by chance, three months before our scheduled big day. We had booked somewhere else, but the instant we arrived at Mount Druid and met with Eavan, Adrian, Deirdre, and their team, we knew we had to change our plans. A week later, we printed and sent out our new invitations to our guests. The sky is the limit when planning your big day here. Our wedding day, was so incredibly relaxed, just as we had set out for it to be. We had a humanist ceremony in the Village Chapel, afternoon tea at the Lake House and Upper Barn, and had our wedding feast in the Main Barn and BBQ area. Our wedding feast consisted of country garden vegetable soup in a bowl made from bread, followed by a choice of venison ragu, roasted lamb, roasted chicken, fresh sole stuffed with salmon mouse, wild mushroom risotto; followed by bread and butter pudding (my grandmothers recipe) and apple crumble, and finished with a cheeseboard of organic cheeses served with a glass of port; all served with a selection of organic wines. All food was sourced locally and where possible, organic. Our guests then danced the night away under the stars, and had a late night snack from the BBQ, before seeking a peaceful sleep in their cosy yurts and sheppard huts. Mount Druid is exquisite, in our opinion. If you’re looking for an alternative and private venue where you can make your own rules such as starting times, photography locations and menu; and, work with a team who will share your vision, and bend-over-backwards to help make your dream wedding happen, then a visit to Mount Druid is a must. Mount Druid really is the nicest venue in the world. Where else would you have a crew from the National Geographic hanging out the day before your wedding!

When planning our wedding party we were hoping for a venue with a difference but also with charm and character, the guys from Mount Druid really exceeded our expectations last weekend!!! The barn with all its amazing rustic & beautiful feat ures & the gorgeous walled garden (we were blessed with the weather) and the fireplace/BBQ area made all our guest feel so comfortable everyone just relaxed and soaked in the ambiance. The real highlight was the BBQ food, and our friends & family are still talking about the organic lamb burgers (from MD farm) and the gorgeous salads and relishes – beetroot humus + pesto to name a few. The BBQ was followed by delicious rhubarb crumble/apple pie all with fruits coming from MD Gardens! Our band the Classic Beatles rocked the place and the dancefloor in the Barn was just perfect for our 100+ guests! Throughout the whole day the service by the MD Gang was bang on and we could’nt have asked for anymore… We definitely would like to say a big ‘well done’ and thank you to everyone @ MD – we’ll be definately back!!

Adrian, Deirdre & Eavan the rest of the team at Mount Druid, As soon as we drove through the gates of Mount Druid on that rainy January day and met Adrian and Deidre for the first time – we knew we had found the place where we would get married. At the time Mount Druid was a dream and one we invested 100% in (We were the first ever wedding on site). We knew that the vision they had was one we were looking for and boy we were RIGHT! We wanted our Wedding Blessing to be a pure escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life in peaceful surroundings, with a beautiful setting and exquisite grounds and Mount Druid is just that. We hope that any couple that goes in search something different, unique and untraditional makes a trip to Mount Druid as I don’t think they’ll go much further. It’s not only a place of awe on a wintery or summery day, it’s Adrian, Deirdre & Eavan and the entire team at Mount Druid that make it so perfect. It truly was the most amazing weekend of our lives…. From hosting our wedding blessing in the newly built chapel, to drinking Pimms at the lakehouse with a string quartet playing on the decking, dining under the stars in the converted barns with the fires roaring and the candles lit. Our guest relaxed in the retro sittingroom and enjoyed 99 ice creams from the local ice cream van. People meandered up the walled garden and danced on the patio until the wee early hours. Later our nearest and dearest got to escape to old fashioned houses on the ground or authentic Mongolian yurts and hand built shepherd huts. If we could do it all again we wouldn’t change a thing! Which is testament to Adrian, Deirdre & Eavan at Mount Druid. I wish them all the best wishes in the world and we feel excitement in our bellies and a smile crept onto our faces every time we think of a happy couple agreeing to host their wedding at Mount Druid, all we would say is welcome to the club, buckle up and enjoy the ride!
