Caroline was amazing from start to finish and helped take the stress out of our wedding planning. She was quick to respond to any queries we had and her experience was invaluable throughout the entire planning process.

The wedding day itself went perfectly, which is a credit to Caroline and her team, and we couldn't have asked for better service.

The food was amazing (which we already knew!) and all our guests commented on the quality of the food and service as well.

A special mention to Seamus for all his help on the day as well, him and Caroline work so well together and make a great team!

Amazing from start to finish. Wanted an outdoor experience and got it. They did as much as they could with the weather we had and it was perfect. The food was gorgeous (we went with the Al fresco experience). Caroline was so lovely to deal with all the way through and Seamus was a dream the day before and the day off the wedding!

I could not recommend the Westport Woods Hotel highly enough. We planned our wedding in 4 months and they made the whole process so easy and stress free. Caroline handled all our queries so efficiently and nothing was too big or too small an ask. We got ready in the hotel and had a civil ceremony there as well as the reception, dinner and celebrations. From the moment we got up in the morning to the moment we (eventually!) went to bed they took care of everything, we didn't have to worry about a thing and the whole day flowed so smoothly and efficiently. Both Caroline and Seamus made sure everything and everyone were looked after. The Lakeview Room provided a stunning backdrop to our ceremony and the Mulberry Suite was beautiful, bright and airy with gorgeous outdoor space for our dinner and evening celebrations. The reception food and dinner were amazing and generous, so many of our guests have since commented on the gorgeous food. Thank you for making our big day so wonderful.

Caroline, Seamus and Allison...we'd have been lost without each of these from when we first had our zoom viewing in Jan 2021. Caroline always answered emails and calls and handled my queries professionally but also in a way I felt I matter as one of her brides.
Seamus was phonominal on the day...despite his bride and groom missing for so long, falling MOHs at the dinner (don't ask!) and stains on the bride's wedding dress; nothing ever phased him.
Allison was a dream as the night manager. She interacted with our guests so we'll, touch base with me and my groom to make sure we were good; and just in general went far out of her way to make our night smooth.

We recently got married and had our reception in the Westport Woods Hotel. We had the most amazing day and highly recommend it. The staff were brilliant, and the food was incredible- there was so much food, all the guests commented on this. The function room was beautifully decorated. Caroline was a pleasure to deal with in the run up to our wedding, we spoke often through email and we also met her a few times before the wedding. She offered a lot of advice and guidance. At the start of our wedding planning process Caroline gave us a list of suggested suppliers, we picked a lot of our suppliers from the list. It was great help as it can be hard to know where to start. Seamus was on hand also on the day of the Wedding and he was also so lovely to deal with and made sure everything ran smoothly. We would highly recommend the Westport Woods as a wedding location, and we cannot wait to return there for a stay in the future.

They are so accommodating and flexible. All the worries that we would have were taken care of before we even thought of them. On the day the most important thing was for us as a couple not to stress and the team really made that an enjoyable experience. Contingencies were thought of as well if certain things didn't work out.
As a bride I was a little frazzled with things that I was meant to have done, but thankfully I had written them down and Caroline really took care of things.

We had our wedding reception in the Westport Woods and we would 100% recommend it to future wedding couples!! From the very start, Caroline was so helpful to deal with. Throughout all the uncertainty of covid, Caroline got back to us straight away and eased our worries. Caroline was excellent at facilitating our requests and made the planning of the day so easy. We had the best day on the wedding day, the function room and outdoor area was amazing, the staff couldn't do more for our guests and people are still talking about how lovely the food was. Caroline and Seamus took great care of us on the day and made us feel like VIPs. We had an absolutely wonderful day and will treasure the fantastic memories we made at the reception in this beautiful hotel!

We would highly recommend the Westport Woods Hotel for any prospective couples looking for a beautiful venue for their wedding. From the first time we visited, we really liked everything about it. The grounds are particularly lovely with the trees and nice paths at the back to walk around, and the function room and restaurant where they normally hold ceremonies are also very nicely decorated.

Caroline looked after us from start to finish and she was simply superb, going through all the options with us and making the booking and initial organisation part as easy as possible. When COVID hit and changes were required, the flexibility and empathy shown was amazing, and it meant a lot to us not to have to worry about that side of things as we downsized our plans.

Our wedding (ceremony & reception both on site) was on 16 Oct 2020, during Level 3 COVID restrictions, so the event was limited to max 25 people. The day itself went off without a hitch. All the staff were lovely to deal with - we really couldn't have asked for better in the circumstances. The function room was beautifully decorated by the hotel, so much so that we didn't have to do anything additional in terms of decor, flowers, etc. Plus, we got some gorgeous photos both outside and inside. The food and drink was delicious and plentiful, so everyone had a great time. We already have a date penciled in for next year for a party for everyone who couldn't make it first time round!

What can I say about our experience with the Westport Woods Hotel. From the minute we went to look at the Woods for a wedding venue it was perfect. The staff went above and beyond for us as the bride & groom but also for our wedding guests, nothing was too big or small of a job for them and I cannot thank them enough for all the hard work they put into making our day super special. The food was fabulous and the service is just out of this world. I cannot recommend the Westport Woods highly enough and we will definitely be back to stay with them in the future. We had the pleasure of having our wedding at the Westport woods hotel and it surely didn't disappoint everything was handled so professionally, the food was amazing and everything we asked for was met with no questions asked. I would highly recommend the hotel. Anyone that has been to our wedding has said it was the best.

Dermot and I would highly recommend Westport woods as a wedding venue. The entire team were fantastic to speak with during the planning and super efficient on the day itself. The room was set up beautifully and everything was immaculate. The food and wine was amazing and with no wait! The layout of the room and outside area really contributed to our guests having a brilliant time as it kept everyone together and the atmosphere relaxed! Westport Woods has the perfect set up for a destination wedding. Gerard and I got married on the 14th June 2019, in Lecanvey Church and held our reception in Westport Woods Hotel. It was perfect, and this was thanks to Joanne and Michael, Caroline and Seamus and all the Staff at Westport Woods hotel, who made our day. In the months coming up to the wedding, no request was too big or small. Joanne was aware and very understanding that I had final exams coming up and timed any meetings/phone calls perfectly according to my schedule. Joanne is a jack of all trades. She was cleaning car oil (I picked up on the beach) off my wedding dress when I returned to the hotel! Caroline was very helpful and accommodated any request I had, and always came back with a number of options.

The staff in the Westport Woods were a pleasure to deal with all the way through the process of planning and organising. They always replied to queries in good time and made us feel welcome and relaxed at every meeting. Meeting times were very flexible, at all times there was one of the coordinating team on hand to answer any questions we had.

On the day they really were a delight, taking all the pressure off us so we could enjoy our day and time with our guests. We had to change schedule of speeches on the day as we ran late arriving at the venue but this was no hassle to Seamus and the staff.

The venue itself is relaxed and beautiful, the grounds were gorgeous for our photos and even the indoor space where we took our family pictures was a lovely backdrop.

The food was delicious - portion sizes were generous, arrived at the tables hot and all guests were offered extras of everything.

Room rates for the guests were very good also.

I would highly recommend the hotel and the staff.

We are 7 month into married life now, and We were looking back on our amazing Wedding day! We had such a great day, it's true what they say, it really was one of the best days of our lives! It definitely was down to a lot of planning, however, this was made so much easier with experienced Wedding Coordinators at The Westport Wood Hotel.

We chose the Hotel for its great location close to Westport, outside of the town with good parking & accommodation facilities. We also feel in love with the ballroom it was chic & modern (with recent renovation works in Ballroom) also having its own bar it meant all our guests would remain in the same area. Joanne, Seamus & Caroline were fantastic in all aspects of planning out our day, any queries I had they would have an answer to help with my questions almost straight away, even for those silly questions. They were flexible with table planning which I felt would be the hardest part, they made it a breeze. So having said all of that I would highly recommend The Westport Wood Hotel for anyone considering a Wedding in Westport. Lovely Staff, Great Location, Amazing food, Beautiful Ballroom!!! We originally had our wedding booked for July 2019. Early this year we got news that changed every thing. I contacted Joanne in The Westport Woods Hotel in January and she could not be more supportive and Accomadating to our requests and wishes. We were constantly in touch with each other which made things so much easier on us.

Seamus was just a god send nothing was ever a problem no job to big or small he always gave 100%.

The day of our wedding went so smoothly thanks to all the staff and there hard work. All of our guests praised the staff and management of the hotel so much they thought the service they received at our wedding was unbelievable from the beautiful food to the decor.

We would love to do it all over again.

S?amus and Caroline were brilliant in helping us organise our wedding and looking after us and our guests on our wedding day.

Food served at our wedding was of a high standard and all our guests spoke highly of the food.

All staff were polite friendly and helpful to all our guests at our wedding from check in to serving tables.

Kids clubs to keep kids entertained during speeches was a big plus.

The only slight hiccup was the shortage of bar staff after dinner in the function room bar but that was quickly sorted out by S?amus.

When Annette and I got engaged in July 2012, we started looking at potential venues shortly afterwards. She?s from Westport so the reception was always going to be there. We looked at all the hotels, you know the ones, that get a lot of weddings. We had liked another hotel and were mulling it over. Confession time: The Westport Woods Hotel was the last on our list to see. And we were going in there to discount it; just to say we?d seen them all. Then we walked in the door and met Joanne, the owner, and in the first minute all our thoughts about ?discounting? this lovely hotel were gone. We were bowled over by the warm, friendly and professional meeting we had with Joanne that day.

The layout of the hotel is perfect for a wedding. There is a large open foyer, with lovely deep couches and lots of glass to look out onto the gardens. The bar is spacious with lots of bar space and seating space. The upstairs dining room is stunning ? this is used for wedding photos if the weather is bad or for civil ceremonies. The highlight of the room is a huge bay window overlooking the gardens and trees. It?s spectacular. Thankfully our day was lovely so our photos were outside, but it was nice to have this back-up

In our first meeting with Joanne, she put us so much at ease with her knowledge, easy-going manner and the complete absence of the ?hard sell? that is the trademark of so many places. One thing she said, which stuck in my mind ever since was; ?One of the things we?ll guarantee you here is good food. And plenty of it.? We also saw the wedding function room that day. It?s really well proportioned. Again, with a lovely bay window and lots of glass, giving great views. At that first meeting, we were really impressed with the flexibility of the hotel to requests and ideas that we might have. We walked out the door and weren?t even at the car when we decided that we wanted the Westport Woods as our wedding venue.

As we planned our big day, Joanne was always at the end of the phone if we wanted to check things, change things or look for some tips or advice. She had some great advice. After all, she sees a lot of weddings. We were only planning one. It was great to have someone on hand with the experience to help us out.

Fast forward then to February 2013, our menu tasting. The food we tasted was fabulous. Wines were gorgeous ? and reasonably priced. We had one or two suggestions for things that we?d like to change slightly on the menu. That wasn?t a problem and Joanne even suggested that we come in again to taste the dishes with the changes that we had suggested. Nothing was ever too much trouble. We met her again the week before the big day and went through the final details. When we sent out our invitations, one of the responses that came back for dietary requirements jokingly asked for ?Schwepps ginger ale for brandy?. We told this to Joanne and ta-dah, Schwepps ginger ale duely arrived.

On the day itself, the hotel looked fabulous. Flowers adorned the foyer and church candles lit the way down the staircase to the function room. We didn?t have a receiving line at the church after the ceremony. Because of this, our guests arrived back to the hotel early. That wasn?t a problem for the hotel. The canap?s and champagne reception was brought forward by about 45 minutes from the typical time. We bought our own bits and pieces for a sweet table. That was all set out really nicely. Annette and I are the last in both our families to get married. So we got framed photos from the weddings of all our brothers and sisters and asked Joanne to lay them out on a table on the way into the function room. We brought all this stuff to the hotel in cardboard boxes and they looked after everything else. There was such peace of mind with them.

The function room was set out beautifully with a mixture of long rectangular tables and round ones that perfectly accommodated our 140 guests. The centrepieces complimented the bridesmaids dresses and really set the room off. Then there was the food. It was fantastic. There were rave reviews about everything. Joanne was on hand at all times and I don?t think I?ve ever seen efficiency like it. From start to finish for each course, the whole room was served in less than 5 minutes. I liked that all the main courses came out on plates, ready to go, rather than the plates coming out first and everything being served from serving platters or dishes. Similarly with the vegetables. Little dish for everyone, instead of huge serving dishes doing the rounds. Joanne and the hotel exceeded our expectations on this. I?ve never had nicer roast beef and there was lots of it, just as Joanne promised. Our other choice was hake and that got rave reviews too.

No matter how carefully you choose your menu, there may be people who don?t fancy either of the starters, for example. Joanne said way in advance that would not be a problem and that they?d be able to prepare pretty much anything if a few people had less extravagant tastes than ours. Again, real peace of mind. We saw a great example of attention to detail from Joanne during the meal. My aunt, who has a very small appetite, didn?t choose a starter. Joanne asked her if there was something else she might like. ?No, thank you? said my aunt ?to be honest I probably won?t finish the main course.? Joanne asked her if she?d like them to change the size of the main course to suit my aunt?s appetite. ?That would be great? my aunt replied. She was delighted with this attention to detail, as were we.

The evening food was lovely too and more plentiful than I?ve seen in other hotels. Any remaining food from the evening was kept in the fridge and left up to the residents' bar later on. That was really appreciated by all.

Two days after the wedding, everything we had brought in to the hotel repacked carefully by the hotel staff. Checking out was a breeze and we were really sorry to be leaving. We both really hope to go to another wedding here as soon as possible.

Special mentions on the day for JP and Tony who were fantastic. Poor Tony looked after Annette's ice water needs as she hardly left the dancefloor all night.

What the Westport Woods hotel gave us was a friendly, welcoming & professional venue for our wedding, with endless flexibility. There were many things included in the standard package that you wouldn?t get in most other hotels. If you?re thinking about having your wedding in Westport, I can?t recommend this hotel highly enough. You will have a stress-free planning experience, gorgeous photos, full tummies, very happy guests and a smiling newly married couple.

We could not have been happier with our wedding reception at the Westport Woods. Every little detail was taken care of by the wonderful staff at the hotel. We had a winter wedding in a little church outside of Westport and then took most of our family wedding photos inside the hotel. The table settings were really nice, the room looked great and there was plenty of room for our ~100 guests to dine and dance. One of the best things was the food. All of our guests commented on how fantastic the food was at the wedding. Everybody was also delighted with the pre-dinner finger foods and the late night snacks. We had a late night trad band come and play in the hotel bar which was also one of the special events we will always remember.
Westport is a lovely part of the country. We have some great photos from the area as well as memories of climbing Croagh Patrick the morning after the wedding! We were also so lucky to pick Westport Woods as it was a great location for our guests from overseas to come to for a few days before and after the wedding.
We planned our wedding from overseas so having the staff in Westport help us with every aspect from recommending flower shops to bands was really a big deal. We put our trust in the staff?s choices and we were not disappointed in any way. We were really happy with the relaxed atmosphere in the hotel and our relations with kids really appreciated the Kids Club which allowed them some free time during their stay.

From the moment we booked our Westport Woods as the venue for our wedding with Joanne, we had her mobile number and email address and it was never a problem to contact her at any stage. The menu tasting was very good and helped us make our decisions on the courses for wedding meal and our parents were invited along also where we were treated very well.
Nothing was a problem and we were absolutely thrilled with the hotel on the day of our wedding. Everyone said it was so relaxed and we would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending the hotel to any couple tying the knot!!!
