A Charming Wedding With Classic And Muted Tones

Sionead and Mark’s modern love story began on Tinder! They then got engaged on Sionead’s birthday in 2021.

“We got engaged on my birthday in 2021,” Sionead says. “Mark surprised me with the proposal at home on the morning of my birthday.”

“Our wedding style was very classic and muted tones. All of our florals were white and cream with a lot of greenery. The bridesmaids dresses were a satin Champagne slip dress and the groom and groomsmen wore tuxedos.”

Sionead wore a white, lace trumpet style wedding gown and Mark wore a black Tuxedo with a bottle green dickie bow.

The bridesmaids wore simple, satin, champagne mid length dresses and the groomsmen wore black Tuxedos.

“We had a civil ceremony that was held in the Newpark Hotel Kilkenny. The ceremony decor was done by Laura Lewins who was fantastic and the room looked absolutely beautiful on the day. Our civil ceremony was conducted by Alison Driscoll who was absolutely brilliant and made our ceremony so personalised and beautiful.”

They hosted their beautiful wedding ceremony and reception at Newark Hotel in Kilkenny.

“On the day the ballroom and ceremony area were absolutely fabulous. As the weather was amazing on the day we had our drinks reception outside in the ballroom garden. This was so beautiful and everyone at the wedding has commented on how beautiful the setting was for the day. Also, all of the staff at the Newpark could not have been better on our wedding day. They were all so professional and put me at ease knowing that everything was under control and planned meticulously. All of the staff were also so lovely and we had a great laugh with them all and they kept us on a high all day long.”

Their wedding was beautifully captured by John Delaney, a family friend and fabulous photographer.

“John could not have done more for us on the day. He was with myself and the bridesmaids and also my husband and the groomsmen on the morning of the wedding and we all had such a great laugh. He was great at keep my nerves in check too. It was such a relaxed morning and John captured so many beautiful shots. As the weather was so hot on the day John worked so efficiently getting all of the shots we wanted so that were weren’t getting scalded. He was amazing at finding the perfect locations to get the best out of our photos. John had also previously worked with our Videographer so they worked seamlessly together. John was able to send us on some of our photos the following day and then turned around a USB of all of our photos within weeks. They were all so beautiful and captured all of the fun we had on the day.”

When asked about her favourite memory from the day, Sionead says:

“I didn’t expect for this to be my favourite memory but it was just a beautiful moment. After the drinks reception when everyone had been called for dinner, just myself, my new husband and our bridesmaids and groomsmen were outside in the ballroom garden having a drink before making our entrance to the ballroom. And it just felt amazing in that moment celebrating our marriage together with our closest friends, having a great laugh and everyone was on such a high.”
