Art Nouveau Wedding Inspiration

Inspiration

We’re all continuing to enjoy the resurgence of the roaring ’20s and the glamorous Art Deco era, but today we thought we’d shake things up a bit and head to the equally influential period right before Art Deco, the Art Nouveau period. We’ve selected a few pieces to help you recreate your own Art Nouveau Wedding.

Design from this period was characterised by flowing lines and rhythmic patterns of curvy lines, as well as a focus on organic subject matter like flowers, leaves and vines.

Joanne Fleming Lily-Elsie wedding gown

Named after an English actress from the Edwardian era, Lily-Elsie is one stunner of a wedding gown. The champagne beaded tulle and silk chiffon gown by Joanne Fleming has a totally Art Nouveau feel, as well as remaining modern with the peplum detail. Sign us up for one, please! Joanne Fleming designs are available from Vintage Bride, Dublin.

Rich ruby red stationery with typical ‘flowery’ pattern from the Art Nouveau period – classic, elegant and eye-catching.

Muted tones also work well for this period.

Beautiful print with lots of Art Nouveau references on this stunning wedding menu.

Tiny wedding cake favour with stained glass window paint effect, reminiscent of Rennie Mackintosh, the most influential designer of the era.

The beautiful rose design gives this simple square tiered cake a feminine touch.

The striking rich colour palette on this three tiered cake gives it some definite oomph!

In case you haven’t noticed, painted stained glass effect wedding cakes are the way to go to recreate this era!
