Had our wedding on the 17th June 2021 in The G Hotel. As we had planned to have a bigger wedding pre covid, we had to replan the whole thing to a more intimate wedding of 25 guests plus ourselves. Thanks to the staff and beautiful venue we had the most amazing day and no regrets whatsoever. Everything was absolutely outstanding. All the staff at The G have been so professional, friendly and genuine. We honestly felt like royalty on the day of our wedding and on our returned visit to the hotel. We are so thankful to all the staff at The G for everything they did for us. From when we first came to meet Tania on that Tuesday evening when we were fully overwhelmed and stressed due to complications with a previous venue and the fact our wedding was just over a week away. Tania totally put our minds at ease and reassured us that we would still have the perfect day. Tania 100% delivered the service she had told us the hotel and staff would provide. We cannot fault anyone or anything throughout our whole experience from booking the venue, on the day of wedding and the aftermath of the wedding day. We knew it was an exceptional hotel but honestly the hotel and staff all outdone themselves and have 100% lived up to the standard of the hotel. The staff made the whole experience out of this world for us and will never forget it. The hotel is now imprinted in our hearts and that is down to the way we were treated by the staff and of course the beautiful venue. All the staff spoke to us on such a personal level during our wedding and on our return to the hotel the following week. We knew it was more than just their job to be good at customer service, they were all being genuinely sincere speaking to us about our special day. We look forward to returning. Firstly, I just want to say that Debbie is absolutely amazing. If it wasn't for her our wedding would have been a complete disaster. You can really tell that she is passionate about what she does and takes real pride in her job. Unfortunately the same can not be said about some of her colleagues and although I would highly recommend Debbie, I unfortunately could not recommend the G Hotel after how we were treated. Our wedding was on the 30th of October 2020 while the country was in lockdown. There were government restrictions on the amount of guests we could have at our wedding, but Debbie made sure to put our minds completely at ease and was still happy to put in all her effort to make our wedding as close to what we had planned as possible. The lockdown and restrictions had made everything quite stressful for me. I was also newly pregnant so found it all very overwhelming but Debbie was always so cheerful and reassuring which it made everything so much easier to deal with. A week before our wedding I contacted Debbie to confirm some final details but she wasn't in the office that day so I instead contacted a colleague who she had mentioned on her out of office reply. I then got a phone call from this colleague, which was when my dealings with g Hotel really changed for the worst. I was told that the hotel would be closing due to the lockdown and that we should cancel our wedding. I was shocked at how matter of fact I was told this, with absolutely no sympathy or understanding whatsoever. I asked why the hotel was closing and was then told that actually we could have our wedding if we really wanted to, but that the hotel would close early and no one could stay the night as previously agreed. She kept pushing me to cancel the wedding but I said I needed to think before agreeing to anything. I asked if we went ahead would there be any change in the price considering we had agreed on lots of things which the hotel would no longer be allowing. She said she would look into it and email me, and we ended the call. I found the way I was dealt with on the phone very unprofessional and was left in tears following our conversation. When I received her email, she outlined the price we were due to pay, with no amendments made to anything, and again suggested we cancel the wedding. She said that the current restrictions meant that the hotel had no choice but to close early the day of our wedding. I replied to say that the government announcement had specifically mentioned weddings of up to 25 guests were permitted to go ahead with no requirement to end things early, and her response was that usually there would be a good bar spend during a wedding but that the hotel wouldn't make as much profit from our wedding now so it wasn't worth their while staying open just for us. She also informed me that another couple who were due to get married in the hotel that weekend had been very understanding about going ahead on the hotel's new terms, and that she herself had postponed her own wedding. I felt as though these things were only mentioned to try to make me feel unreasonable for questioning what I was being told, so at that point I decided that I would would just speak to Debbie when she was back in the office and I emailed her asking her to call me. When Debbie phoned she told me the hotel owners had made these decisions and there was nothing she could do, but she was very apologetic about the whole situation. She sounded genuinely upset at what she had to tell me and I could tell she actually cared about having to make all these changes to our wedding. Although she wasn't able to do anything different from her colleague, I was left feeling much better about everything and was so glad I had spoken to her. In the end it was agreed that we could get ready in the hotel before the wedding and that everyone would have to leave after the wedding by 8pm. On the day of the wedding we were greeted by a very cheerful Debbie who had everything set up exactly as we had discussed. I had some extra decorations I wanted to add to the room which Debbie was more than happy to do for me, and she also had no problem making some last minute changes I decided on after seeing the room set up. She helped us bring everything in from the car up to the room and gave me her mobile number telling me to call or text if I needed anything at all. Throughout the wedding the bar and restaurant staff were all very accommodating, my only complaint with them being that one of our guests asked how much of a bar tab we had set and the member of staff actually told her, which I don't think he should have done. Half our guests were served the wrong starter but this was very quickly fixed and no one minded getting to try two starters so this wasn't an issue. When it came time to leave we were told we could come back the next day to collect our things and that everything would be left as it was. When we returned to the hotel the next day we were met by a very unhelpful woman who let us into the reception room. Everything had been cleared away and she didn't know or care where our things had been left. I had brought things to the hotel in bags which were nowhere to be seen, so we had to make several trips out to the car and back, with this woman making no effort to help. She seemed very annoyed when I asked her for a box to put things in although she did manage to find one. I asked if she could look for our missing belongings and she wandered off out the back. As we were bringing things out to the car we saw her pull up in her BMW and it was clear she hadn't tried to find our things and was just getting ready to leave herself. I asked her again if she would look for our things and she asked if we meant the leftover wine from the reception. I said we would take those as well so she brought out a few bottles but when we got home it turned out they were half empty bottles of different wine which was gone off. She refused to look for the rest of our things and instead told us she would have them posted once they were found. When I eventually contacted Debbie about this months later she had never been told anything was missing so at this stage I have given up on getting anything back. Debbie is really the best thing about the G Hotel. She is unbelievable at her job and knew exactly what to do throughout the entire process to keep us happy. Despite everything that happened I still managed to enjoy the day and I know for a fact that would not have been the case if she hadn't been there. If she ever moves to another hotel I would highly recommend getting married there but sadly while she is still working for the G I would have to say stay away.

It was my pleasure to help you plan your wedding and I do appreciate your very kind words about me, weddings are my passion so I am very lucky to be able to work in my dream job. I am very sorry to hear about the miscommunication from our team regarding collecting your belongings and this feedback is being dealt with currently by senior management as this is never the way we train our team to communicate. Unfortunately, we were unable to provide you with the day we had originally planned; as a few days before your wedding, the government announced Level 5 restrictions with immediate effect with no pre-warning to the hospitality industry. During this time, the stakeholders of the hotel met to discuss what they saw as viable for the business and then instructed our team. This decision was not an easy one to make and the temporary closure of the hotel meant that wedding couples were given the option to either postpone at no additional cost or to go ahead with their original date however, in a different manner than usual respecting the government and HSE guidelines, this included weddings ending early with no entertainment to name a few. We have a duty of care to not only look after our guests but to look after our team especially during these unprecedented times. We do apologise that you felt that the way we explained the government guidelines and your options of proceeding with your wedding or rescheduling to a later date came across as rude, this was definitely not our intention. We do hope to welcome you and Chris back to the hotel for your 1 year anniversary to get the chance to stay with us and experience the hotel, as we do feel that during level 5 restrictions, we could not carry out our normal 5-Star service due to tight restrictions imposed upon the hospitality industry. We held our wedding in the g hotel in early September and had the best day of our lives. We are absolutely delighted that we chose the g hotel for our wedding reception. Planning and holding a wedding in the midst of a pandemic could have been an incredibly stressful experience however, with the constant support and reassurance from the wedding coordinator Debbie the journey was as enjoyable as it could be during these uncertain times. Our original wedding date was May 2020. Debbie and her colleagues in the g hotel were really flexible when it came to rescheduling our date and didn’t put any pressure on us which was amazing, their focus was on us truly having the wedding day that we had dreamed of. Once we decided to go ahead with our September wedding Debbie and her colleagues at the hotel rowed in behind us to ensure everything was as stress free as possible. Instead of stressing we were able to enjoy the build up to the wedding. The day itself was more magical than we could have ever imagined. All of our guests were blown away by the reception and also the ballroom which Debbie and her team had presented beautifully taking our ideas on board. The service was incredibly professional. The hotel is unique whereby it is five star luxury with a really personal touch and calm down-to-earth atmosphere that makes you feel at home. We are still getting compliments on the quality of the food, it was restaurant standard for a wedding which people were amazed by. Maurice (food and beverage manager) was around the entire wedding weekend to offer support and ensure everything was going to plan. We stayed in the Linda Evangelista suite the night of the wedding which was a lovely perk. We were able to get amazing photos with the G as a setting and with Galway city on their doorstep we got photos down shop street, the Claddagh and Salthill. The G hotel will always hold a special place in our hearts and we are forever grateful to Debbie and Maurice and their team for delivering an unforgettable day for us and our guests. We could not recommend the G hotel enough

We got married New Year’s Eve in the G Hotel. From the time we booked we had contact with Debbie, even 1 evening last year she was finished her shift, she still stayed chatting to myself and husband For over an hour. The most loveliest person that went out of her way to accommodate myself husband children family and friends, then there is Roisin who is equally as lovely as Debbie. She followed me around the day of the wedding making sure I ate lol. Anything she could do So that I wouldn’t get stressed she done. The food was the nicest food I’ve ever tasted, our guest said it was the nicest dinner also, the feel of the hotel itself is amazing relaxed and chilled the most perfect setting if your looking for this and luxury for your big day. I can’t thank the guys enough the way we were treated. I look forward to the catch up when we visit Galway again thanks so much guys Mr&Mrs Comey

We had our wedding and ceremony Dec 30th 2019 ,The reception room is wow. We stayed for 3 days and were looked after so well, I cannot recommend the Team in the G enough , Debbie the wedding co coordinator is so lovely to deal with, nothing was ever too much trouble,I miss our chats. Roisin was always so helpful and looked after us so well she went above and beyond for us, the food was amazing everyone raving about it, I could go on and on, The G is an amazing venue , wish I could do it all over again in this fab hotel

We had our wedding on the 28/12/19 and I couldn't recommend the g more. Debbie and roisin were the most fantastic coordinators, always prompt replies and facilitated every request. The day itself ran so smoothly and the food was phenomenal,the comments are still coming praising the food.

From the day we decided on the G we knew we made the right choice. Debbie was brilliant. She answered all our questions, no matter how silly we thought they were, and was very reassuring. Everything from viewing the room, the decor and the meal tasting were all sorted by Debbie. The wedding day itself was amazing. We wish we could do it all over again. The service, the rooms and the food were all top top class. You really do get the 5 star treatment! especially in the penthouse suite. We would highly recommend the G to anyone for their wedding.

We got married at the G Hotel on the 29th of November. Everything was perfect from start to finish. Debbie, the wedding coordinator was a dream to deal with and could not have been more helpful. From the smallest request to the bigger things! Nothing was a bother and she was always on hand to answer any questions or put our minds at ease. The day of the wedding was amazing, everything was as we had planned and the food was fabulous. Everyone seemed to have a great time which is all we could have wished for. Róisín the general manager was also a great help on the night and there for anything we needed. All in all, we couldn't recommend the G Hotel more.

The one word our guests have used to describe our wedding day in the g Hotel was that it was a “fairy-tale”. From the time we stepped through the doors of the g Hotel and met Rachel (the g Hotel's wedding coordinator) our every thought and wish was catered for. We did not worry once on the day of the wedding as we knew we were in the right hands. We had high expectations and a clear vision of what we wanted from our wedding. Not only were these expectations met, they were surpassed on every level. We could not have imagined it any better. From our drinks reception in the Grand Salon to the lavishness of the g Hotel’s ballroom, the décor in the g provided the ultimate backdrop to a truly different wedding. The food was outstanding (our guests were amazed - so a big thanks to Pauline and her team). The Whiskey Tasting (which was a first for a wedding in the g) was a real hit and the way in which our wedding cheesecake was displayed was out of this world. The attention to detail all throughout our wedding weekend was extraordinary. The above was only made possible thanks to Rachel, Aoife, Triona, David, Pauline and the entire team at the g Hotel. It is so hard to express how amazing our experience (and that of our wedding party, family and guests) was thanks to these people. Waking up the morning after our wedding we knew we had made the right choice. Thank you!

Just to say Thank you for making our Valentine’s day wedding an amazing day for us. We had a fantastic time, all our guests had a great time too and loved the food. We were so pleased with how it went and couldn’t have asked for any more! Thank you and all of the staff involved in our wedding. On immediately visiting the g, we decided it was the perfect contemporary venue for our wedding reception. We were both looking for something that was most definitely not the run of the mill. The planning process was absolutely seamless with Rachel's help (the wedding coordinator). On the day, all staff on duty provided a 5 star service and all guests commented on how exemplary they were. The welcome reception was held in the "Grand Salon" and guests were treated to Phillip Tracey's intricate interior design. The g Suite itself was set up to perfection and the food was undeniably delicious. Chef's creations dazzled the crowd. The photo-booth, from Tully Lens, (and a first for receptions in the g), was set up in the foyer through the helpful assistance of the staff on duty. Accommodation provided for us and our guest was superb and a real treat! We really can not thank all the staff enough for helping us host the party of our lives!

I had my wedding at The g Hotel and I could not be happier with the whole experience. I didn't want the usual wedding and was looking for a venue with the 'wow factor' with great food to match. Nothing was too much trouble, it seemed like every single staff member was working on my wedding. The food was spectacular. They really went out of their way to make every one of my guests feel pampered. The hotel decor is stunning and my photographer was particularly impressed with the range of different backdrops. The hotel rooms are very luxurious and comfortable with amazing shower pressure. I have stayed in 5* hotels all around the world, and this is one hotel that really shows you the meaning of 5*. I can't recommend them highly enough

We celebrated our wedding, both the civil ceremony and reception, in the g hotel in October 2010 with just under sixty guests. We had a fantastic day thanks to the staff at the g, who looked after every tiny detail. Everything ran very smoothly on the day and it had a very relaxed feel. The room was decorated beautifully, both for the ceremony and the reception. The chair coverings and table decorations were included in the price. The g provided lovely centre pieces with tea lights and also petals on the tables. It goes without saying that the food was superb. All our guests and ourselves thoroughly enjoyed the day. The photographs came out beautifully. We took some group photos outside on the steps and the family photos in the lobby. Our photographer chose the lobby, as the black of the walls and floor was a striking backdrop. We got beautiful couple shots in the other reception rooms in the g. In every respect it was a wonderful day and we would highly recommend the g as a wedding venue. We would like to thank all the staff, especially our wedding coordinator Isabella and the restaurant manager Sharon, for our fabulous wedding day

We would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to the fantastic team at The g Hotel for making our wedding day in December 2010 so special, we cannot praise the facilities and staff enough! The reception hall was decorated so beautifully that our guests described the atmosphere as magical. The food (and service) was outstanding and was the highlight of the reception – people are still talking about it months later! Furthermore, the boutique interior of the hotel enabled the most fantastic photograph opportunities. We are delighted that we made the choice to have both our wedding ceremony and reception at The g Hotel.

We stayed in the G Hotel for a long weekend a few years ago, taking advantage of their weekend offers and we instantly fell in love. What better place to get married. From day 1 we were treated like royalty and the staff were simply amazing. Our every need and desire was turned into a reality. Everything was taken care of and handled with the upmost precision and class. Our day ran like clockwork and we felt totally at ease knowing that we were in great hands. The g may lack external grounds, however, inside the hotel definitely makes up for this. We were spoilt for choice for wedding photographs. We actually didn’t have time to fit all the rooms into our session. We did however get photos taken in the Evangelista Suite. Fantastic. Our photographer was amazed at the amount of different effects he could create. If you are thinking of getting married in Galway The g Hotel would be very difficult to beat. We are thinking of excuses to get back to stay again. Our day was truly magical and we couldn't have done it without the help of Sharon, Isabella, Orla, Elizabeth, Damien to name but a few.
