I don't know where to begin about our wedding in The G Hotel. We got married in July 2022. We had originally booked our wedding for July 2020 and had to postpone twice. Each time we postponed The G made is stress free and seamless, they never used it as an opportunity to up our price like many other hotels did, to quote them, "all they wanted was for us to get our special day" and we really did!
We met Tania who looked after our wedding and she was just incredible from start to finish, no request was to big and she paid attention to every tiny little detail. No stone was left unturned and she just made us so relaxed and as a result we had the best day of our lives. Tania paid so much attention to our little details that even the day before the wedding she seen we had a Harry Potter sweat table, so made us a Harry Potter table lay out, that is just one example of the attention to detail you get at The G. We had our menu tasting and the food and service was spectacular and we hoped at our wedding it would be nearly as good, but it was the exact same, all the staff were amazing,.from the wait staff to the bar staff and Sinead in reservstions, all of our guests couldn't get over how polite, friendly and accommodating they were. They staff at the G couldn't do enough for us. They made us feel so special. The night before the wedding in a full restaurant the host came up to me, he knew who I was and told me he will be looking after my wedding tomorrow, it was just 5 star service from start to finish. We were so proud to have had our wedding in The G Hotel. We were told by Tania that it is up to us to book the wedding and up to the G to deliver and they certainly did that and more

We got married at The g Hotel in July 2022 with a crowd of about 110 people, and it was absolutely perfect. Everything about the wedding, and even the preparation at the hotel in the months before, made us feel incredibly special and pampered ? and we're not generally the pampering type! When we originally chose The g, we were surprised to find the price to be similar to other hotels in Galway, yet the service was at a level way above anything else we've been to.

Our wedding coordinator Tania took great care in looking after our every need during planning and on the day, and our meetings always felt very casual and personal ? she was as excited as us about our plans! Tania made absolutely sure that we had time for just ourselves between the drinks reception and dinner, wrestling us away from our photographers! We had a particular requirement that needed to be handled sensitively by the hotel, and they were incredibly professional and attentive ? every member of staff quietly looked after us.

The food is incredible and really sets The g apart from all other venues. Maurice gave us very personal attention in choosing food and wine ? the menu tasting was one of the best days of our lives, probably second only to the wedding! Our guests were really impressed by the food and drink, even down to the quality of the late night nibbles.

We had the ceremony as well as the reception at the hotel and everything looked stunning ? our photographers were delighted when we told them we'd chosen The g, and the photos look incredible. Aside from the suite in which we had the ceremony and the reception, and the Grand Salon in which we had the drinks reception, every lounge, bar, corner and even stairwell is incredibly photogenic. There was a real wow factor, and all our guests were really impressed with the venue ? especially those that stayed at the hotel. We didn't use any external decoration as the venue itself is so perfectly chic as it stands with the hotel's own decorations personalised to our colour scheme. This in itself saves a lot of money and we'd recommend others do the same.

The bridal suite is the most luxurious space we've ever stayed in and made us feel like royalty ? they even added a few classy touches before we came up to bed that made the occasion extra special! Breakfast on the balcony was a wonderful way to start the following day before re-joining our guests. We just wish we could have another day and night to enjoy it!

What a wonderful day we had for our wedding at the G! The atmosphere is great here for a wedding, its elegant yet not too formal. The standard of the decor in the hotel is amazing, the function room is lovely and the bedrooms are beautifully finished with many guests thrilled with how nice their rooms were for the night. The food was great, for 150-160 people we were very happy with it! The room layout works very well for a wedding and enables people to stay involved and the bar location for the room again works really well, something that can be hard to tell until you see it all on the day! Tania and Inez were really professional and helpful and no detail was left out. Jimmy oversaw our table and lots of other details on the day and was also really helpful. The suite is out of this world! I would absolutely recommend having the G as a wedding venue, i'd go back and do it all again there tomorrow!

Myself and my fianc? had our very intimate reception (for 14 people!) in the G hotel on May 8th. From the very beginning, we received wonderful service from the G, with Tania (our wedding co-ordinator) being extremely welcoming, flexible and supportive. She and the team (including Inez on the day) created a wedding experience which felt luxurious and special but not overly-formal, which was exactly what we were hoping for! There were so many gorgeous and surprising extra touches on the day (even personalised gifts!), and we never felt that we were less important than a more conventionally sized wedding. We received a beautiful red-carpet welcome on arrival, and the drinks reception was very enjoyable. The reception room was beautifully decorated, and we were extremely happy with the quality of the food and the very attentive service from the team. All of the guests who stayed overnight commented on the elegant and spacious rooms, replete with amazingly comfortable beds! Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend the G hotel for a luxurious but relaxed wedding reception.

We had the most amazing wedding day at the G hotel. From our first contact with Debbie and then Tania we both could not believe how easy they made booking and planning of our wedding day any easier they put us at ease on so many different occasions including rebooking it for the 3rd date. From the moment we stepped foot in the hotel everything was just magical our dining manager Maurice went above and beyond for not just us but for all our guests. The food was spectacular to say the least and the wine was fabulous. We had Prosecco reception and it was 1 of our best ideas the display was amazing and drink was very plentiful. The bridal suite was just out of this world what a lovely treat on the day. Our guests had the most wonderful day and are still full of compliments about how amazing the hotel is. Mark the other manager on duty that day went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us and Gill was at our side all day to make sure we were living our best dream. I cannot recommend the G hotel enough to any other couple looking to book there wedding there from start to finish it was truly a dream come true. Thanks to all the staff at the G hotel.

We got married on august 21st in The G hotel. It was absolutely amazing I can't praise it enough ! 5 stars is not enough to rate this hotel !!
From the moment I contacted The G to book the wedding the service was excellent from the wedding planner Tania and later I met Gill who was also just superb! Tania went out of her way to look after us and nothing was ever too big! We postponed 4 times and the hotel was just amazing- they couldn't do enough for us and nothing was a problem . Tania often calmed me down and made me feel so confident about our wedding during covid times. They really supported us during covid with the many restrictions and postponements. Tania was always at the end of the phone or email to chat or calm me when I was getting stressed!
The day itself was absolutely amazing - it was beyond both of our expectations and our guests absolutely loved it from start to finish! It was a total dream come true! The decor is just stunning, it is absolutely beautiful- everywhere is a photo opportunity (our guests were loving taking pics) and the room itself is beautiful it was recently refurbished. I love that it is modern and not your typical hotel function room- it's classy and stylish !- we had the wonderful Kate Deegan and her team decorate it for us and it was out of this world!!
We were made feel so special like royalty!
A special mention to Maurice the food and beverage manager who looked after us so well on the day and in the months before the wedding ironing out our wedding menu. He is excellent at his job and so knowledgeable about food and wine! He was just everywhere on the day itself making sure everything was perfect and it was ! He went out of his way to make sure we had the best time and we did !
Every single detail was planned out and went perfectly. The canapés were gorgeous and the reception room was stunning with amazing views over the lake through the huge windows ! The pianist music really added to the atmosphere . It was surreal!
The food was on another level and everyone was raving about it even now when I meet ppl they still talk about the beef!!
We stayed in the penthouse which was just stunning and such a treat!
The whole weekend was like a dream and I would highly recommend The G hotel for a dream wedding ! It's a stunning location and a beautiful hotel! Our photographer got amazing photos in the hotel!
Special thanks to the amazing Tania, Maurice and Jill ! The staff at the G Hotel are excellent they looked after everyone so well and many of our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been at!! I thought the same of course !

We had the most wonderful wedding reception at the G Hotel last month. From the moment we met with Tania ( our amazing wedding co-ordinator), we knew we chose the perfect venue. She went through everything with us in fine detail, making sure that everything that we wanted would be catered for. She is amazing at what she does. The food was top class, absolutely delicious and the service and attention to detail was second to none. The atmosphere when we arrived to the hotel after photographs was just magical on the day and it is something we will never forget. Tania was there to make sure everything was done to a T. These sentiments were also reflected in the views of our guests. A special thank you to Maurice and Mark and all the team. We would highly recommend this venue to any couples who are considering having their wedding reception in Galway, you will not regret it! If only we could give it 6 stars ! Thank you so much to Tania and all the team at the G Hotel!

We had our wedding in early July and the G Hotel did an amazing job hosting it. We were looked after so professionally by their wedding co-ordinator Tania. All the staff at The G Hotel (Maurice in particular) made us feel so welcome, it really felt like we were their top priority. Tania was a delight to plan our day with, she was ready to help in any way she could and was eager for our day to be perfect. We found her to be so personable, she was fantastic with our young daughter when she accomplished us at the menu tasting.
We cannot recommend The G Hotel highly enough, we had such an amazing time there and we're looking forward to having future occasions there! Thank you to all the staff!

Our wedding was on Saturday 20th November. We had both the ceremony and reception at the G. From the first day we went to visit the G, the service there was on a different level to other hotels. It is easy to see why they are a 5* hotel. The staff made the decision very easy to book our wedding there. Our wedding tasting evening with Maurice is something that we will always remember. The food was exceptional. The food and service on the day itself was excellent. Our guests were raving about it. The hotel had the room decorated beautifully for the ceremony and reception. The best thing I can say is that we got the exact wedding we wanted. We were made to feel very special throughout the entire process. Nothing was too much. A special thank you to all the wedding team. We would highly recommend the G to anyone looking to book their wedding.

Firstly, I just want to say that Debbie is absolutely amazing. If it wasn't for her our wedding would have been a complete disaster. You can really tell that she is passionate about what she does and takes real pride in her job. Unfortunately the same can not be said about some of her colleagues and although I would highly recommend Debbie, I unfortunately could not recommend the G Hotel after how we were treated.
Our wedding was on the 30th of October 2020 while the country was in lockdown. There were government restrictions on the amount of guests we could have at our wedding, but Debbie made sure to put our minds completely at ease and was still happy to put in all her effort to make our wedding as close to what we had planned as possible. The lockdown and restrictions had made everything quite stressful for me. I was also newly pregnant so found it all very overwhelming but Debbie was always so cheerful and reassuring which it made everything so much easier to deal with.
A week before our wedding I contacted Debbie to confirm some final details but she wasn't in the office that day so I instead contacted a colleague who she had mentioned on her out of office reply. I then got a phone call from this colleague, which was when my dealings with g Hotel really changed for the worst. I was told that the hotel would be closing due to the lockdown and that we should cancel our wedding. I was shocked at how matter of fact I was told this, with absolutely no sympathy or understanding whatsoever. I asked why the hotel was closing and was then told that actually we could have our wedding if we really wanted to, but that the hotel would close early and no one could stay the night as previously agreed. She kept pushing me to cancel the wedding but I said I needed to think before agreeing to anything. I asked if we went ahead would there be any change in the price considering we had agreed on lots of things which the hotel would no longer be allowing. She said she would look into it and email me, and we ended the call. I found the way I was dealt with on the phone very unprofessional and was left in tears following our conversation.
When I received her email, she outlined the price we were due to pay, with no amendments made to anything, and again suggested we cancel the wedding. She said that the current restrictions meant that the hotel had no choice but to close early the day of our wedding. I replied to say that the government announcement had specifically mentioned weddings of up to 25 guests were permitted to go ahead with no requirement to end things early, and her response was that usually there would be a good bar spend during a wedding but that the hotel wouldn't make as much profit from our wedding now so it wasn't worth their while staying open just for us. She also informed me that another couple who were due to get married in the hotel that weekend had been very understanding about going ahead on the hotel's new terms, and that she herself had postponed her own wedding. I felt as though these things were only mentioned to try to make me feel unreasonable for questioning what I was being told, so at that point I decided that I would would just speak to Debbie when she was back in the office and I emailed her asking her to call me.
When Debbie phoned she told me the hotel owners had made these decisions and there was nothing she could do, but she was very apologetic about the whole situation. She sounded genuinely upset at what she had to tell me and I could tell she actually cared about having to make all these changes to our wedding. Although she wasn't able to do anything different from her colleague, I was left feeling much better about everything and was so glad I had spoken to her.
In the end it was agreed that we could get ready in the hotel before the wedding and that everyone would have to leave after the wedding by 8pm.
On the day of the wedding we were greeted by a very cheerful Debbie who had everything set up exactly as we had discussed. I had some extra decorations I wanted to add to the room which Debbie was more than happy to do for me, and she also had no problem making some last minute changes I decided on after seeing the room set up. She helped us bring everything in from the car up to the room and gave me her mobile number telling me to call or text if I needed anything at all.
Throughout the wedding the bar and restaurant staff were all very accommodating, my only complaint with them being that one of our guests asked how much of a bar tab we had set and the member of staff actually told her, which I don't think he should have done. Half our guests were served the wrong starter but this was very quickly fixed and no one minded getting to try two starters so this wasn't an issue. When it came time to leave we were told we could come back the next day to collect our things and that everything would be left as it was.
When we returned to the hotel the next day we were met by a very unhelpful woman who let us into the reception room. Everything had been cleared away and she didn't know or care where our things had been left. I had brought things to the hotel in bags which were nowhere to be seen, so we had to make several trips out to the car and back, with this woman making no effort to help. She seemed very annoyed when I asked her for a box to put things in although she did manage to find one. I asked if she could look for our missing belongings and she wandered off out the back. As we were bringing things out to the car we saw her pull up in her BMW and it was clear she hadn't tried to find our things and was just getting ready to leave herself. I asked her again if she would look for our things and she asked if we meant the leftover wine from the reception. I said we would take those as well so she brought out a few bottles but when we got home it turned out they were half empty bottles of different wine which was gone off. She refused to look for the rest of our things and instead told us she would have them posted once they were found. When I eventually contacted Debbie about this months later she had never been told anything was missing so at this stage I have given up on getting anything back.
Debbie is really the best thing about the G Hotel. She is unbelievable at her job and knew exactly what to do throughout the entire process to keep us happy. Despite everything that happened I still managed to enjoy the day and I know for a fact that would not have been the case if she hadn't been there. If she ever moves to another hotel I would highly recommend getting married there but sadly while she is still working for the G I would have to say stay away.

We got married New Year's Eve in the G Hotel. From the time we booked we had contact with Debbie, even 1 evening last year she was finished her shift, she still stayed chatting to myself and husband For over an hour. The most loveliest person that went out of her way to accommodate myself husband children family and friends, then there is Roisin who is equally as lovely as Debbie. She followed me around the day of the wedding making sure I ate lol. Anything she could do So that I wouldn't get stressed she done. The food was the nicest food I've ever tasted, our guest said it was the nicest dinner also, the feel of the hotel itself is amazing relaxed and chilled the most perfect setting if your looking for this and luxury for your big day. I can't thank the guys enough the way we were treated. I look forward to the catch up when we visit Galway again thanks so much guys

Mr&Mrs Comey

We had our wedding and ceremony Dec 30th 2019 ,The reception room is wow.
We stayed for 3 days and were looked after so well, I cannot recommend the Team in the G enough , Debbie the wedding co coordinator is so lovely to deal with, nothing was ever too much trouble,I miss our chats.
Roisin was always so helpful and looked after us so well she went above and beyond for us, the food was amazing everyone raving about it, I could go on and on, The G is an amazing venue , wish I could do it all over again in this fab hotel

From the day we decided on the G we knew we made the right choice. Debbie was brilliant. She answered all our questions, no matter how silly we thought they were, and was very reassuring.
Everything from viewing the room, the decor and the meal tasting were all sorted by Debbie. The wedding day itself was amazing. We wish we could do it all over again. The service, the rooms and the food were all top top class. You really do get the 5 star treatment! especially in the penthouse suite.
We would highly recommend the G to anyone for their wedding.

We got married at the G Hotel on the 29th of November. Everything was perfect from start to finish. Debbie, the wedding coordinator was a dream to deal with and could not have been more helpful. From the smallest request to the bigger things! Nothing was a bother and she was always on hand to answer any questions or put our minds at ease. The day of the wedding was amazing, everything was as we had planned and the food was fabulous. Everyone seemed to have a great time which is all we could have wished for. R?is?n the general manager was also a great help on the night and there for anything we needed. All in all, we couldn't recommend the G Hotel more.

The one word our guests have used to describe our wedding day in the g Hotel was that it was a ?fairy-tale?. From the time we stepped through the doors of the g Hotel and met Rachel (the g Hotel's wedding coordinator) our every thought and wish was catered for. We did not worry once on the day of the wedding as we knew we were in the right hands. We had high expectations and a clear vision of what we wanted from our wedding. Not only were these expectations met, they were surpassed on every level. We could not have imagined it any better.

From our drinks reception in the Grand Salon to the lavishness of the g Hotel's ballroom, the d?cor in the g provided the ultimate backdrop to a truly different wedding. The food was outstanding (our guests were amazed - so a big thanks to Pauline and her team). The Whiskey Tasting (which was a first for a wedding in the g) was a real hit and the way in which our wedding cheesecake was displayed was out of this world.

The attention to detail all throughout our wedding weekend was extraordinary. The above was only made possible thanks to Rachel, Aoife, Triona, David, Pauline and the entire team at the g Hotel. It is so hard to express how amazing our experience (and that of our wedding party, family and guests) was thanks to these people.

Waking up the morning after our wedding we knew we had made the right choice. Thank you!

Just to say Thank you for making our Valentine's day wedding an amazing day for us. We had a fantastic time, all our guests had a great time too and loved the food. We were so pleased with how it went and couldn't have asked for any more! Thank you and all of the staff involved in our wedding. We had a fantastic day with you, and none of it would have been possible without all of the efforts of everybody involved. Thank you for the lovely room we got. We really enjoyed our overnight stay. It was such a special day for us, complimented by your kindness and attention to detail. Our grateful Thanks to you all

On immediately visiting the g, we decided it was the perfect contemporary venue for our wedding reception. We were both looking for something that was most definitely not the run of the mill. The planning process was absolutely seamless with Rachel's help (the wedding coordinator). On the day, all staff on duty provided a 5 star service and all guests commented on how exemplary they were. The welcome reception was held in the "Grand Salon" and guests were treated to Phillip Tracey's intricate interior design. The g Suite itself was set up to perfection and the food was undeniably delicious. Chef's creations dazzled the crowd. The photo-booth, from Tully Lens, (and a first for receptions in the g), was set up in the foyer through the helpful assistance of the staff on duty. Accommodation provided for us and our guest was superb and a real treat! We really can not thank all the staff enough for helping us host the party of our lives!

I had my wedding at The g Hotel and I could not be happier with the whole experience. I didn't want the usual wedding and was looking for a venue with the 'wow factor' with great food to match. Nothing was too much trouble, it seemed like every single staff member was working on my wedding. The food was spectacular. They really went out of their way to make every one of my guests feel pampered. The hotel decor is stunning and my photographer was particularly impressed with the range of different backdrops. The hotel rooms are very luxurious and comfortable with amazing shower pressure. I have stayed in 5* hotels all around the world, and this is one hotel that really shows you the meaning of 5*. I can't recommend them highly enough

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to Rachel, David, Pauline and the staff for a fantastic day on Saturday. Everything was perfect and the food was superb. Can't wait to see the photos taken at the hotel!

We would like to say a big thank you to all the staff at the g Hotel for making our wedding reception perfect. A special thank you goes to Isabella who was so helpful, accommodating and professional with the pre-wedding arrangements. The food and service was excellent and we particularly enjoyed the professional yet relaxed atmosphere of the g Hotel.

We stayed in the G Hotel for a long weekend a few years ago, taking advantage of their weekend offers and we instantly fell in love. What better place to get married. From day 1 we were treated like royalty and the staff were simply amazing. Our every need and desire was turned into a reality. Everything was taken care of and handled with the upmost precision and class. Our day ran like clockwork and we felt totally at ease knowing that we were in great hands.

The g may lack external grounds, however, inside the hotel definitely makes up for this. We were spoilt for choice for wedding photographs. We actually didn't have time to fit all the rooms into our session. We did however get photos taken in the Evangelista Suite. Fantastic. Our photographer was amazed at the amount of different effects he could create.

If you are thinking of getting married in Galway The g Hotel would be very difficult to beat. We are thinking of excuses to get back to stay again. Our day was truly magical and we couldn't have done it without the help of Sharon, Isabella, Orla, Elizabeth, Damien to name but a few. Thank you all so much.

Lots of love and best wishes. Can't wait to see you again.

We celebrated our wedding, both the civil ceremony and reception, in the g hotel in October 2010 with just under sixty guests. We had a fantastic day thanks to the staff at the g, who looked after every tiny detail. Everything ran very smoothly on the day and it had a very relaxed feel. The room was decorated beautifully, both for the ceremony and the reception. The chair coverings and table decorations were included in the price. The g provided lovely centre pieces with tea lights and also petals on the tables. It goes without saying that the food was superb. All our guests and ourselves thoroughly enjoyed the day.

The photographs came out beautifully. We took some group photos outside on the steps and the family photos in the lobby. Our photographer chose the lobby, as the black of the walls and floor was a striking backdrop. We got beautiful couple shots in the other reception rooms in the g.

In every respect it was a wonderful day and we would highly recommend the g as a wedding venue. We would like to thank all the staff, especially our wedding coordinator Isabella and the restaurant manager Sharon, for our fabulous wedding day
