Woodenbridge Hotel & Lodge

The staff at the Woodenbridge Hotel went above and beyond for us on our special day. Despite many, many, changes whether it was dates, guest numbers or holding our ceremony there at the last minute; Julie-Ann and Gillian were so professional, helpful and facilitating.
The views from the Woodenbridge are second to none and you won't find staff more welcoming.
The food and decor on the day was complimented by all our guests.
I really can't recommend the Woodenbridge highly enough.

Very easy to rank 5 stars on all counts! Gillian who managed our wedding was exceptionally helpful in every way - nothing was too much trouble. The helpfulness extended to all staff. To take an example, we panicked last minute on realising we didn't have enough vases for the church - the receptionist didn't even blink before pointing out two glasses in the lobby we could take, and offering more! The hotel went above and beyond. Due to covid I wasn't able to taste the food in advance, but was pleasantly surprised by how good the canapes and BBQ food turned out to be. The outdoor bar and BBQ area by the river is the perfect place for a chilled out, private, intimate wedding. We had such a fabulous day and really can't fault our choice of venue! Go check it out! nicer than its photos!

myself and my husband had our wedding reception in this wonderful venue back in June and it was perfect from start to finish.. they were so helpful and they laid out all my decor exactly how I imagined.. it was just beautiful the food was Devine and everyone truly enjoyed themselves and our bridal suite was beautiful! we got some beautiful wedding shots down by the lodge of myself and my new husband and our bridal party, I would like to thank julieann for all her help as our wedding coordinator and for making sure our day ran smoothly regards Mr & Mrs Bracken x

Woodenbridge is a special place to my husband and I, which is why we chose it as our wedding venue.
The venue itself is absolutely stunning. We have some amazingly beautiful photos which were taken on the grounds.
The food is delicious (as always) and all of our guests were sure to tell us it was the best food they?d ever had at a wedding.
The staff are so friendly, helpful, kind and more than willing to go out of their way to help in any way they can. Our wedding planner JulieAnn Harper was equally amazing and so very helpful, informative, kind and helped our day move flawlessly along. She even came up to my room before the ceremony to try help remove my earring! Nothing is too much to ask! Last but of course not least is Gillian, what a woman! I am probably the most laid back bride there ever was and poor Gillian spent the day running around after me letting me know everything I needed to do, where I needed to be and made sure my new husband and I got some time alone before our dinner reception. We think Gillian needs about a month off in the Caribbean after our wedding!
Our whole day went absolutely perfectly smooth. Every single member of staff went above and beyond for us and we couldn't be any happier.
Thank you so much to everyone at Woodenbridge for making our day so special and stress free.
P.s we really do wish Gillian a long holiday to recover ????
Love,
Leanne and Kevin Lambert

We we're more than happy with the woodenbridge hotel for our wedding. We spent the whole weekend there with family and friends. The staff throughout the hotel couldn't do enough for us and our guests commented on that also. The food was incredible all weekend, not just the wedding dinner. Julieann was out wedding coordinator and we can't speak highly enough of her, she is incredible. It was an absolute pleasure planning our dream wedding with her. We are so happy that we chose woodenbridge hotel.

I can not write a review that will even come close to how amazing the Woodenbridge was for our wedding venue! With only a short amount of time I gave them to help book and plan our special day there was never a problem or moment julieann and staff made us feel under pressure or just ?another couple? they always made us feel like we were there priority. The food was amazing, the setting was amazing, the rooms were amazing, the staff from waiting to bar to reception were all amazing. Our guests are still raving to us about the day/night, thank you so much Woodenbridge from the new Mr & Mrs Doyle xx

The woodenbridge hotel and Lodge in arklow co.wicklow was our wedding venue. As soon as I seen this venue I knew it was the one for us and my husband felt exactly the same was. The women that looked after us were Julieann and Gillian. They were amazing. When we rang to make the appointment to look at the venue they were so accommodating. We went and picked our date and then it was our budget that we looked at. They told us what we could get for our price and weren't trying to rip us off at all. Not like the other venues we priced. We went for the winterwarmer package. Over the months going forward they stayed in contact to see if we needed help or suggestions with things like band, dj etc. They were amazing. On the week before the wedding they told us we could bring everything down and they would hold it for us which ment we didn't have to worry about it the night before which was a huge help. On the day of the wedding, we had our ceremony at the hotel. Which was included in the package which alot of venues charge 500 extra for. The room was set up beautifully. Our ceremony was ment to start at 2 and when I got there I had a bit of a meltdown as I forgot things to bring down to the wedding. Gillian came and talked to me. Calmed me down, brought me a bottle of prosecco and pushed the wedding til 3. Until I got myself together. I am truly grateful for this as if I didn't wait my wedding wouldn't have went great for me. I then had time to fix my make-up and calm myself. After the ceremony they looked after the guests while my husband and I got photos. Then we had the meal which was outstanding. Everybody was saying how amazing it was. They looked after the cake and handed it out in the evening to the guests. Our room had a balcony looking over the valley which was beautiful to look at in the morning after. The room was clean and a bottle of champagne was waiting for us in the room. My day was perfect because of this hotel. I know it wouldn't have been the same if I went elsewhere. The photos around the hotel that we got are beautiful. I am truly grateful for everything they have done for us and would recommend them to everybody. Thank you so much Julieann and Gillian and the rest of the staff at the woodenbridge hotel and Lodge. You really made my day a fairy tale.

A wonderful venue for our wedding. Everyone had an amazing time. Service and value was second to none. The food, in particular, was a highlight! Highly recommended!

Simply the best

No Complaints wonderful service

The place made the big day just simply wonder. If had a chance to do it again wouldn't think twice and have my wedding over there again. Highly recommended!

My husband Richard and I celebrated our wedding at the Woodenbridge Hotel and had the best experience. Everything on our special day was absolutely fabulous and the team at the hotel were fantastic to deal with.

From our initial meeting to our final catch up, and a million and one emails from me changing bedrooms and table plans, the hotel team were at all times so helpful, patient and full of support and advice.

We married in the local church in Avoca which is just a five minute drive from the hotel so everything was very easy for our guests on the day, and we managed to accommodate all of our guests in the hotel which was extremely important to us.

The food was fantastic, the service and the room was spectacular.

The weather was amazing on the day which definitely helped and our videographer captured stunning drone footage of the location in Woodenbridge.

On day two we hosted a BBQ with a guitar player in the bar to continue the celebrations, and again the hotel were extremely accommodating in organising this.

We thoroughly enjoyed our wedding at Woodenbridge Hotel and would certainly recommend booking a wedding there to any couple.

We got married at Woodenbridge in May and everything was perfect. Julie-Ann was wonderful, so patient and felxible. All our guests loved the food. The setting is out of this world. And even better, it's a fraction of the cost of other venues we looked at. A dream day! Can't recommend enough.

Staff were amazing and so helpful.

We booked last January and dealt with Julieann throughout the year. She was so helpful and accommodating. On the day, she was a calming force (badly needed with the nerves) and was spot on with attention to detail for any requests we had. The ceremony room was lovely and the set up in the function room was exactly as we wanted. Gillian and the staff were amazing during the drinks and dinner and the food was amazing. I couldn't fault one thing. Our day was fabulous from start to finish. Our families stayed two or three nights and we were like part of the staff by the time we were leaving. All the hotel staff were so helpful and welcoming. Can't wait to visit again and would not hesitate in any way to recommend the hotel to future Bride's and Grooms.

Lovely hotel, venue and staff. Everything was perfect. No hassle or stress with anything. Food was lovely. Excellent wedding packages to choose from and they cover all budgets. Wedding coordinator was excellent and extremely helpful with everything.

Everything was amazing, Julie Ann and the rest of her staff were brilliant from day one. We cannot recommend this venue enough.

Woodenbridge were so good we were able to organise our wedding from Malta. They were efficient and responsive in all communications. We managed to organise our wedding within 10 months because of the support and advice from the whole team. From the first email to getting checked out as Mr & Mrs after the wedding things could not have gone smoother.

They allow for so much personalisation of each wedding that you will feel like you are the only couple to have ever been married there.

The hotel itself is steeped in history and the team at Woodenbridge do an excellent job of maintaining the traditional while provided an up to date and professional service.

Our day was truly magic for bride, groom, and entire wedding party.

The most amazing staff that made our day so very special. The food amazing really beautiful and the views to get married in breathtakingly beautiful. Our day was so special and it's only one wedding at a time so as the wedding couple you get all there attention and no request a problem... love the hotel love the people love the service will always have a place in our hearts

We had our first holiday together here in December 2011 and came back to get married here last summer.
We had an amazing wedding! :)
Everybody was super friendly and came across very genuine! The hotel tried to accommodate all our wishes and this way helped making this day absolutely great and unforgettable. Most questions for specific things that we wanted or needed were answered with "Sure. Absolutely no problem!"

The room with the four poster bed was stunning and we were even able to stay in it an extra night and the food was absolutely delicious :)

Could not have wished for a better venue! :)

Looking forward to visit again for our anniversary :)

Amazing staff amazing venue

We had a fantastic day and couldn't fault one thing about the whole experience. Cathy was absolutely fabulous from day one (we had no dealings with Julie Ann as she was on maternity leave). From our first meeting with Cathy to discuss date, plans, requirements etc to the day of our wedding, nothing was too much and we cannot thank her enough. She was very professional, and organised everything without any hassle. Thank you also to Stephen, our toastmaster and waiter on the day. We would highly recommend the hotel and lodge as a wedding venue - for value, location and hospitality. The ceremony venue was stunning, the reception venue was fantastic, the food was excellent (both in quality and quantity, a big thank you to the chef). Thank you to everyone involved for such a wonderful day.

Perfect location, superb food, nothing too much trouble. No stress or worry as everything is done with 110% effort. Would have no issue recommending this as a wedding venue.

We had our wedding at Woodenbridge on 23rd July. It was amazing!!. Everything was perfect. The staff, the food, the atmosphere and of course the venue. Cathy and Julie Ann helped us with every detail and they made it so easy for us to enjoy the day. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Stephen was amazing on the day and made everything run so smoothly. He looked after us and all the guest. The reason I wanted the Woodenbridge is that you are made feel special and like family, not just a number. I would highly recommend Woodenbridge to anyone considering having their wedding there. Perfect and Amazing. Thank you.

Fabulous location. Absolutely fantastic, attentive, friendly, down-to-earth staff. Amazing food, and lots of it! Beautiful decorations, all for a very affordable price. Could not fault a single thing.

The staff of the Wooden bridge are truely amazing. Specially Julie-Ann for all her hard work the room looked fantastic. The food was delicious and service was speedy and efficient. Can't recommend it highly enough. Best day ever. Thank you all.

The hotel is beautiful and the setting is incredible. The level of care and attention to detail was so good. As a bride, I was completely right to trust the team, they delivered my vision in the function room and I didn't need to worry about anything at all.

The food was so good! We've gotten so many compliments about it.

There is no way to describe how fantastic Julie Ann was. She worked with us so closely the whole way though. I will never forget her walking me and my Dad to the ceremony room and helping me hold the tears in. Without her support, our day wouldn't have been as perfect as it was.

Woodenbridge Hotel helped us achieve our dream wedding, the staff were fantastic, the food was generous and so tasty! Julie Ann is a wedding extraordinaire and we couldn't be happier with everything and everyone.

A fantastic venue!

It was a amazing day hotel could not do enough for us beautiful hotel

This hotel is fantastic and is set in the most beautiful setting very reasonably priced and the couldn't do enough for us Sinead and Julie-Ann are wonderful our guests still talk about the food nearly a year later and we still drive from Dublin some sundays for dinner

Lovely hotel couldn't of been happier on the day couldn't of been more helpful. Big thanks to Julie - Ann and Lorcan for making our day so special. Definitely recommend for a wedding or any occasion

We had our wedding here yesterday have to say a big thank you to all the management and staff at the Woodenbridge for making our day so special, the food was fab, service was fab, thank you.

?Excellent family-run hotel in a beautiful part of Ireland?
We had our wedding at this hotel over a weekend, and were absolutely delighted with how it turned out. The staff really take care of you - the attention to detail is second to none, and the atmosphere is wonderful (as is the food!) They are very good about small details, like providing complementary tea and coffee while you're waiting for taxis and so on, and they're excellent value. We were left with such good memories that it's now our first choice of hotel when we're in the area, and on a recent stay we were amused to find that the staff had remembered us, and booked us back into the bridal suite!
With respect to the visitor who had trouble while staying at the same time as a wedding: we did not find that this was a problem at all. The hotel bar had quite a few locals and other visitors present on the night of our (large!) wedding, and they didn't seem at all unhappy - I was congratulated several times! I would also note that the hotel gave us a choice of which of our guests to place in the "noisy" bedrooms over the bar. We were able to put guests who were guaranteed to be up until the end of the party in there, which meant that the music wouldn't be likely to disturb visitors wanting a quiet evening.
Would recommend this hotel to anyone planning on staying in the area!

Congratulations to the Woodenbridge. We have a very special love for this hotel. Our wedding in 2002 was the most fantastic weekend we ever had. The staff, food and atmosphere was the complete package along with the first class treatment we received on our special day. Superb.

Dear Sinead, Just a short note to thank you for the splendid job you did in co-ordinating Niamh & Davids wedding on the 2nd May last, everything went to plan without a hitch. I was delighted that you were able to come to the rescue with the music at the last minute, I was very worried that we would not have any music at all, until you were able to sort it out for us. There were many people in Woodenbridge Hotel we need to thank for the smooth operation of every detail of the day, thanks to the bar staff, waitress's & waiters, a big "thank you" to the chef & his team, the food was delicious & I got a lot of very good feedback about that & nobody was left waiting, my young 6 year old grandson was delighted with his coeliac friendly meal, as was Niamh. My room was very comfortable as were the family rooms for my family, breakfast the next morning was great for Niamh as you were able to supply her with gluten & wheat free toast, so often not available in other hotels, the breakfast staff the next morning were lovely. All the small things I noticed such as the window boxes planted with fresh flowers added to ambiance of the day & gave a fresh look to the building, among other things. Sinead, you did a wonderful job in co-ordinating every little detail, not an easy job, making sure everyone was in place for the ceremony & getting all those drinkers away from the bar, definitely not an easy job. Anything we wanted or needed we just had to ask. Thank you Sinead, I hope you are well appreciated for the job that you have done, because I very much appreciate all your hard work in making my daughter's day a huge success. Niamh & David had a magical day & couldn't have asked for more from all the staff of the Woodenbridge Hotel.
Gerard you have a little gem there in Sinead & she is a lovely girl, thank you all so much.

?Fantastic Wedding Experience?
We recently held our Wedding at?Woodenbridge hotel. We can honestly say that we would recommend this hotel if you are planning your wedding. We are both originally from the area but live in London, and it was always going to be a worry planning a wedding in a different country to where we live.
We met the hotel owner Esther mid 2011 to discuss our plans and what the?Woodenbridge Hotel?could?offer?as regards to Wedding packages. There is a good choice to suit most budgets, and as we explained what we wanted Esther kept repeating leave it with me, I will look after it. We did have our concerns and Esther put our minds at rest by explaining her business and her reputation depends on her taking care of these types of events every week as the hotel is always busy.
When we phoned the hotel with inquiries and requests it never mattered who we spoke to all the staff were always helpful and made sure our requests were carried out .
Esther was true to her word, and everything was perfect on the day.We had the candelabra reception and it looked fantastic and it all went to plan. Our guests were very complimentary about the food and the whole reception, and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
We spent the next day at the hotel along with family and friends and the main thing for us was the exceptional service from the staff and the fact that nothing is too much trouble.
The hotel is a bit dated as it is the oldest hotel in Ireland, hence everything is not fully modern and up to?date, but this only adds to the character of the hotel and the experience to your stay. The surrounding area is so beautiful and has good golf and fishing facilities alongside the hotel.

I just wanted to say thank you so much for everything you and the rest of the staff at the hotel did for us on the weekend of our wedding. From the minute we started planning our wedding right up to when we checked out we couldn't have asked for more helpful and friendly service. Both yourself and Karen were extremely helpful and patient with all my emails making enquiries and changes and there was never an issue with anything we asked for. On the day itself Lorcan and all the staff were brilliant and again everything we asked for was taken care of with no problems. This excellent service carried on right through the weekend until the final stragglers left on Monday morning. We couldn't have chosen a better venue for our wedding and we weren't the only ones that felt so as all of our guests said the same thing.

We had our wedding reception in the Woodenbridge Hotel , it was just so perfect & Magical , the food was just perfection top quality , the staff were so Friendly & professional ,and would bend over backwards to help with any little problem that you may have . The Hotel itself has a feeling of being at home, it's so warm and welcoming and comfortable!!! Our guests haven't stopped talking about the reception and have all said that they are going back, we spent a few days there and meet some lovely local people .The scenery is breathtaking. We will be going back to spend some time there again. Thank you to Gerard & All the Staff of the Woodenbridge, we would most certainly would urge everyone to go and visit and try the food etc.
