A Chic Summer’s Day at BrookLodge – Real Wedding by Konrad Kubic Photography

Nicola and Maurice were married on a beautifully sunny September day this year at the fabulous BrookLodge, Macreddin Village. The bride looked radiant in a stunning silk one-shoulder La Sposa gown while the groom and his men cut a playful figure with waistcoats and colourfully striped bow ties. The couple literally ‘tied the knot’ in a joyful hand-fasting ceremony before entertaining guests with fabulous food and a band that kept everyone dancing ’til the wee hours.

The Social Wedding – Michelle & Alan’s Documented Day in Glasson Lakehouse by bella&bold

Alan and Michelle married in August this year in the stunning setting of Glasson Country House Hotel & Golf Club in Athlone. The couple set out to create memories by getting their guests as involved as possible, snapping the day away and posting their shots on various social networks. The couple added little personal details such as Facebook ‘like’ cufflinks for the groomsmen (the groom works at FB!) and even managed to get their entire wedding party to perform a pre-choreographed version of ‘I’ve had the time of my life’ from Dirty Dancing! Everything from the littlest details to the biggest show-stopping moments was captured superbly by Michelle Kenna of bella&bold Photography.

Long Distance Love – Real Wedding at Ballymagarvey Village by Brenda McGuire Photography

Real wedding fans, please make sure your seat belt is securely fastened and your tray tables and seat backs are in their fully upright position as we take a journey with today’s real wedding couple. Ciara and Mark met in Chicago in the summer of 2007, where they spent the summer months getting to know each other as colleagues before Ciara returned home to Ireland. They stayed in touch and eventually, after countless emails, phone calls and trips to and from the windy city, Mark finally persuaded Ciara to take a chance on a one-way ticket instead. The couple married in July this year in a romantic ceremony at Ballymagarvey Village, and created a beautiful and personal travel theme to both share their own love story and to make their Irish and US guests feel very special indeed. All the intricate details were captured perfectly by the wonderful Brenda McGuire Photography…

Their romantic soft pink and ivory theme set the tone for a grand affair, before wedding guests let their hair down on the dancefloor. Izabela Meguellati was on hand to capture the intimate and fun day.

Country Romance – Real Wedding in Tulfarris Hotel by Massafelli Photography

Gillian and Wesley were married in August this year in an emotional ceremony decorated to perfection. A Chuppah functioned as the altar, while the aisles were lined with an avenue of bay trees. The beautiful ceremony was followed by an evening of entertainment on the picturesque grounds of Tulfarris Hotel & Resort – including an ice cream trike for the kids (okay, the adults too), a barbershop quartet and a band that kept guests dancing until their feet hurt. Their quirky, romantic day was captured by the talented and charismatic Wanderley Massafelli, of Massafelli Photography.

Purple Rain – Nessa & Daragh’s Real Wedding at Glasson by Couple Photography

Nessa and Daragh were married at the fabulous Glasson Country Club in Westmeath, during one of Ireland’s longest and hottest summer months in recent history. Unfortunately, it was little less paddling pools and a little more puddle pumps on the day itself, and it rained from morning ’til night. Mother nature can be a cruel matriarch but wasn’t a force strong enough to hamper the bride and groom’s fabulous celebration, which was captured beautifully by the lovely Ros Byrne of Couple Photography.

Sophie Ties the Knot! Our very own Sophie marries Fiancé Ken in a Classic Monochrome Affair

Of course we love all weddings here at weddingsonline but there was one particular big day this year that was the biggest of the big days for us – the day our very own Sophie tied the knot to hubby Ken! Keeping to her chic Parisian roots, Sophie’s wedding was inspired by the understated, refined style of Audrey Hepburn in Chanel – she, in a stunning lace Pronovias fishtail and cathedral length veil, he in a sleek black Alias Tom suit and tie, the little man in the cutest ever tux, and they (the bridesmaids!) in fabulous black tea length Alfred Sung by Dessy. We could go on for days about how special this wedding was, but we’ll leave it in the very capable hands of Sophie (and photographer Peter Rowen) to tell the story…
