We truly could not have chosen a more perfect venue for our wedding. From the beautiful setting to the incredible staff and attention to every detail, everything exceeded our expectations and made our entire wedding weekend feel so special. Sinead was hands down the best wedding manager we could have asked for - we had two dresses rip accidentally and she got her sewing kit and took care of it with no questions asked. Our guests are still talking about how amazing the venue was, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We highly recommend this venue to any couple looking for an unforgettable place to celebrate their wedding!

We got married in late June at Kilkea Castle, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The basic summary is this: we would book Kilkea again in a heartbeat, both because of the place, and the wonderful folks who work there. We plan to visit over the years, and it holds a very special place in our hearts.
First, the grounds are stunning. We were lucky enough to be able to hold our ceremony in the Rose Garden, with our cocktail hour(s) in the Keep Bar, and our reception in Baronial Hall. It’s a castle from 1180, tastefully updated to make it a really warm and lovely place to stay.
We came out with our wedding party a few days earlier to enjoy the grounds and activities in lieu of stag/hen parties. We walked the nearby trail in the woods, did archery and air rifle shooting, had a blast with the escape rooms, played a truly atrocious round of golf (due to our lack of skill, not the beautiful course), used the spa, booked the incredibly delicious afternoon tea, and surprised our guests with falconry. Needless to say, the activities were a hit!
As for the wedding day, the castle itself is gorgeous, and the rest of the venue runs like a top-end hotel, which took much of the planning and worrying off of our shoulders (e.g. guests could have breakfast at their leisure). It feels both grand and intimate. The Castle and Courtyard rooms are beautiful, and the Lodge rooms are serviceable (and we understand they’re upgrading them).
As a general rule, the staff could not be more kind and accommodating, but a few folks deserve a specific mention. First, our coordinator, Rebecca Leech. We booked Kilkea a few years in advance of the wedding date, and had multiple people helping us out, but Becky eventually became our primary coordinator. And wow, did we get lucky with her. She’s kind, attentive, sharp, organized–all of the things you’d want. We’re from Los Angeles, so planning the wedding included a fair amount of zoom calls and emails. Becky was totally on it. At SEVERAL points in the planning and lead-up to the wedding, and on the day itself, we looked at each other and said some variation of “thank god we have Becky.” She went out of her way to help, and accommodated even some of our more odd requests (e.g. please have some non-alcoholic champagne for the expecting moms and those who don’t drink). As just one small example, housekeeping accidentally broke the groom’s pomade before the wedding, and Becky sent her own boyfriend out to find a replacement. This is beyond what one should expect, but seems like just how she operates.
Natacha was also a pleasure to work with for our day of castle activities. She razzed the gents just enough, and made sure the activities were all coordinated well, adjusting the daily schedule for both the gents and the ladies as needed when we missed our intended times. Total pro, and hilarious to boot.
We should also mention the food at Kilkea, and the fantastic night staff. Every meal is better than one would expect, and this goes double for the wedding food. Even the process of selecting our menu made us feel special. We had a tasting, and the food and wine were so good that it was genuinely challenging to choose which dishes our guests would like. There’s often a difference between what you get at a tasting and what the wedding food tastes like (cooking for a mass of people is just harder), but this is NOT the case at Kilkea Castle. The food was stellar, the steaks and fish were cooked perfectly, the desserts were beautiful and delicious. Everything was timed well. It was, for our foodie guests, the best wedding food they had ever eaten.
The Willow Suite (where the ladies get ready) is well appointed, and beautiful.
The Fitzgerald suite is also to die for. We felt like the king and queen of the castle staying there, and Kilkea’s usual attention to detail was apparent there too–a fruit basket and few bottles of champagne, along with lovely hand-written notes, were there to welcome us as a married couple.
Any wedding has some issues, and we ran into a few. Room bookings seemed like they could have been organized a bit better, and several guests had check-in issues with inaccurate automated emails. The lodge room we stayed in prior to the wedding could use some attention as well: we had limited hot water, not-so-great lighting, and almost no counter space in the bathroom, etc. The gents use that room to get ready, and they didn’t really have a full-length mirror. The irons were also dirty, which was surprising as everything else at Kilkea is pretty much spotless. The Willow Lodge had some power issues – the steamers and extension cords they provided regularly short-circuited, which made it difficult to get dresses steamed on time. There was a heatwave, and there were not enough fans to go around (though such sustained heat is likely a rare occurrence). We also had some timing issues on the wedding day, and wished that Kilkea had coordinated with the vendors a little better. We had specified an open bar, and that somehow got lost in translation to some of the bar staff, which was an unpleasant surprise on the night of the wedding (but remedied quickly once we learned of the issue). Cocktails were very limited, so if they’re important to you, consider specifying the exact ones beforehand.
But for every single issue mentioned above, Kilkea went above and beyond to remedy it, quickly, and without problem. And in the big picture, these were comparatively minor issues. We also had several guests mention how kind and helpful Kilkea’s staff is, and if it seems like I’m repeating that, it’s for a reason: Becky vastly reduced the stress level for us, and did it all with a smile. We looked forward to seeing the kind folks at breakfast each day. We made friends with bartenders. What more could you ask for?
The overall experience was so good that we hesitated to bring up the issues here, but I think it’s good for folks to know that even when something goes wrong, Kilkea will fix it.
We’re admittedly biased, because we had a wonderful time, and marrying the love of your life is just a really fun thing to do. But I genuinely can’t imagine a wedding venue anywhere on earth being half as perfect as Kilkea was for us.

We got married in Kilkea Castle in June 2026. From our first meeting with Sinead (wedding coordinator) to the day we left after our wedding we had the most amazing experience. Sinead was incredible, responding extremely quickly to all our requests and even calling us on her days off. Sinead really went above and beyond for us and nothing was a problem. Even when we wanted to have the ceremony outside despite the risk of rain, Sinead and the team set up an alternative option for us inside in case it rained and provided guests with umbrellas upon arrival. The rest of the staff were also incredible. Even staff member we met were extremely friendly and attentive, not just to us but to all of our guests. Our guests are still talking about how incredible they were and nothing was ever an issue. You can clearly see all the staff love working there which is extremely refreshing. The food was without doubt the best food I’ve had at a wedding and our guests said the same. The venue speaks for itself. It truly is a magical place that will always have a special place in our hearts. I just wish we could do it all over again and I really hope we get to experience Kilkea Castle as a guest someday because our guests are raving about how amazing it was for them too. We got married at Kilkea Castle in June 2026, and looking back, we honestly couldn’t have chosen a more perfect venue. Kilkea was the very first venue we viewed, and we knew from the moment we arrived that it was the one.
As soon as we arrived for our wedding weekend, we were made to feel like celebrities. Every member of staff made us feel so special, and nothing was ever too much trouble. The level of care, attention and genuine warmth we experienced was incredible.
We had the pleasure of working with Shannon, Sinéad and, in particular, Rebecca during the final six months leading up to our wedding. Rebecca was absolutely fantastic. She always replied to my (many!) questions so quickly, was more than happy to jump on a call whenever I needed reassurance, and had such a calm, reassuring presence throughout the planning process. She made everything feel manageable.
Every single member of staff went above and beyond over our wedding weekend. You can tell the whole team takes enormous pride in what they do, and that shines through in every interaction.
The venue itself is simply breathtaking. So many of our guests have since told us it was the most beautiful wedding venue they have ever seen, and we couldn’t agree more.
The food was incredible, we are still getting compliments from our guests about how amazing every course was! The Day 2 BBQ was also a huge highlight. The food, atmosphere and service were fantastic, and it was the perfect way to continue celebrating with our family and friends in such a relaxed setting.

If I could give Kilkea Castle more than five stars, I would.
We planned our entire wedding from the United States, completely sight unseen. We never toured the grounds, never tasted the food, never set foot on the property until we arrived — and somehow every single moment exceeded expectations we didn't even know we had. If you're considering Kilkea from afar, let this review put your mind at ease: you are in the very best hands.
From the very first email, Sinead was extraordinary. She guided us through every step, answered every question, and made planning a wedding an ocean away feel effortless. Paired with our incredible wedding planner, Kate Deegan, we had a dream team. I honestly don't know how we would have gotten through the week without the two of them.
The celebration began with our rehearsal dinner at Hermione's, where we hosted all of our guests. We'd chosen a set menu, and even that first meal far surpassed anything we'd hoped for — an early sign of just how special the days ahead would be.
The wedding day itself was pure magic, and it started with activities that had our guests raving. The falconry was a runaway favorite — and not just with the kids; the adults were every bit as enchanted. A few of our guests slipped away to golf and came back saying it was the most beautiful course they had ever played. There was something for everyone, and the whole group was glowing before the ceremony even began.
Then there was the weather. It had been touch and go, but it cleared at the last minute — and even if it hadn't, the team had a seamless Plan B ready to go. That level of preparation and care told us everything about who we were working with.
We were married outdoors with the castle rising up behind us, and truly, you cannot beat those views. It was the backdrop we'd dreamed of. From there, we moved to Restaurant 1180, which had been completely transformed into the most stunning, elegant space — exactly the vision I'd carried in my head, brought to life by Kate down to the last detail.
And the food. This is where I have to pause, because most people expect wedding food to be forgettable, and ours was the complete opposite. Every single guest told us it was the best wedding food they had ever had — gourmet, beautiful, and genuinely delicious. It was the talk of the night.
The reception that followed was flawless: dancing, a fantastic band, and every transition handled so smoothly we never had to think about a thing. And just when we thought we couldn't eat another bite, the late-night fish and chips and sliders arrived — and somehow we found room, because they were to die for.
We had 40 of our closest friends and family with us, and to a person, everyone was blown away. Kilkea Castle gave us a perfect day from start to finish. Thank you, Sinead, Kate, and the entire team — we are endlessly grateful, and we'll be telling everyone we know.

I married my husband at Kilkea in March of 2026, and the day was perfect beyond our wildest dreams!
We started our venue search after getting engaged in June 2024, and after viewing multiple high end venues in the west and midlands we were left disappointment. We had stayed in Kilkea 4 years prior and had an amazing experience, so we put it on our venue list. Needless to say, after walking the grounds and facilities during our wedding venue tour we knew it was the one. It has such a magical appeal, and everything you need for a wedding in one place. We could accommodate all our guests onsite, we had our rehearsal dinner in the drawing room for private dining, we chose a beautiful church in Castledermot which was a 7 minute drive away, we had our reception in the castle keep, our banquet in the baronial hall and our day two in hermoines restaurant which is part of their golf club. Our guests played golf, used the spa facilities and told us after two days they didn’t want to leave! The staff are incredible, they make the experience so personal, especially Sinead from the wedding team, the reservations team and food and beverage management. The day went so seamlessly and exceeded every expectation that we had.
If you’re looking for a luxury castle wedding in Ireland that has a boutique feel then Kilkea is the only answer. We can’t speak of it highly enough!

Kilkea Castle was the most perfect wedding venue. The team, including the wonderful Sinead, Rebecca, Ishmael, Emma and all their colleagues, were absolutely fantastic and so professional. They made our day, providing support and guiding us throughout the weekend, and working with our photographer and videographer on the day. We are so grateful to them.
The food and wine are amazing, from canapés through to the evening bites, with a great selection!
We really wanted our guests to be able to stay onsite. Kilkea delivers with plenty of gorgeous rooms available, and a variety of pricing options.
The venue itself is beautiful. The drinks reception in the castle was a lovely start to the day, with the staff moving us to the Baronial Hall for dinner seamlessly. The bar is inside the same room as the dinner and dance floor, which was an important deciding factor for us so people were near to the dancefloor. It was great on the night!

We honestly couldn't have asked for a more perfect wedding venue than Kilkea Castle. From the moment we first viewed the venue and met the team, we knew it was where we wanted to get married. It instantly felt like our dream venue.
We got married on the 7th of February 2026, and after having to change our original date, the team couldn't have been more accommodating. They made what could have been a stressful situation so much easier, and we were so grateful for all of their support.
A huge thank you to Sinéad, Shannon and Michaela, who went above and beyond for us. Nothing was ever too much trouble, no question was too small, and they were always there to help with a smile. Their professionalism, kindness and attention to detail made us feel completely at ease throughout the entire planning process.

We got married on the 7th of February 2026, and after having to change our original date, the team couldn't have been more accommodating. They made what could have been a stressful situation so much easier, and we were so grateful for all of their support.
A huge thank you to Sinéad, Shannon and Michaela, who went above and beyond for us. Nothing was ever too much trouble, no question was too small, and they were always there to help with a smile. Their professionalism, kindness and attention to detail made us feel completely at ease throughout the entire planning process.
Our wedding day was absolutely perfect from start to finish. Everything ran so smoothly, the venue looked stunning, and every little detail was taken care of. Our guests were completely blown away by the beauty of Kilkea Castle, with so many saying it was one of the most breathtaking wedding venues they had ever visited. The food was another huge highlight of the day – our guests are still talking about it months later and rated it so highly. We received countless compliments on both the quality of the meal and the exceptional service.

Kilkea Castle was the only venue we viewed that ticked all the boxes for us. We had 140 guests, and it was important to us that guests could stay onsite if they wanted. With different room types and prices there was something for all our guests.
One thing that everyone commented on was the amazing quality of food. The food was truly second to none. It is not easy to cater for that many people, but Kilkea managed it with ease.
The entire team was so professional and ensured all our guests (and ourselves) were looked after from start to finish.
The layout of the function room was also a real selling point for us, as the bar, dancefloor and smoking area are all within view and reach of each other. This means there is no fragmentation of groups during the night and really made a difference.
The service from the catering and bar team was top class all around.
Sinead was our wedding co-ordinator and was such an amazing help throughout the planning process. We are so grateful to Sinead for making our wedding planning process so enjoyable and stress free.

We had our wedding at Kilkea Castle on 12/19/2025. After having been at a friend's summer wedding at the venue a few years back, being in awe of how beautiful it was then hearing the great things they had to say about their wedding experience with the Kilkea Castle team, we knew we had to celebrate our wedding there as well and we're so glad that we did.
Our wedding coordinator, Sinead, and the team there couldn't have been more helpful from day 1. We planned our wedding from the US where the time difference could've made things more difficult to coordinate but Sinead worked around our schedule and handled everything so professionally. There were a lot of details to work through and decisions to be made but the team really put us at ease in the lead up to the wedding and the whole day went off without a hitch!
All our guests, from both the US and Ireland, spoke so highly of how beautiful the venue was, how warm and welcoming the staff were and how seamlessly the whole day went. The staff were so friendly and had fun with us on the day.

I don't even know where to begin... Kilkea Castle is hands down the most incredible venue for your wedding day!
My husband and I got married in September and had all of our wedding festivities at the castle over the course of the weekend. From the moment we were greeted at Kilkea Castle two years ago touring wedding venues, we immediately knew this was the perfect fit. We had roughly 140 guests, almost all stayed on the property, and we have not heard the end of their incredible experiences staying at the castle.
My husband and I live in New York so the thought of planning a destination wedding seemed a little daunting, but Sinead and her wonderful team went above and beyond to ensure everything went perfectly! Sinead and all of the staff at Kilkea are experts at weddings and truly made us feel so comfortable and taken care of. Wedding coordinator, concierge, bartenders, housekeeping, groundskeepers, everyone was so attentive and willing to help in any way they could and we truly can't thank them all enough for the hard work they did!
We had all of our guests meet us at The Keep the night before for welcome drinks and although it was probably more people than they anticipated, the bar staff did such an amazing job! Andrew is a gem of a bartender and deserves all the praise!! I stayed in the Willow Lodge that night and it was truly stunning. It was the perfect place for me and my bridesmaids to get ready and made for gorgeous photos as well. We lucked out and had beautiful weather for our September wedding so we were able to have our ceremony in the garden and our cocktail hour inside The Keep as well as the outside patio. From there we spent the rest of the evening in the Baronial Hall which looked absolutely beautiful! Truly the wedding of my dreams.
We got married Ryder Cup weekend so we wanted to have a putting competition of our own for Day 2. John graciously let us use his putting green and we, as well as our guests, had such a fun time! We chose a BBQ style lunch in Hermoine's and we can't tell you enough how incredible that was. We thought it would be something more low-key and of course, the staff went above and beyond to ensure the restaurant was filled with our flowers from the day before, loads of food for all of our guests, and the friendliest bartenders to help our hangovers.
All and all, we can’t recommend Kilkea Castle enough for any couples looking for a wedding venue. We’re so happy with our decision and cannot wait to go back as soon as possible to relive our special day. Thank you to Aidan, Sinead, Andrew, and all of the lovely Kilkea staff! We kicked off the wedding celebrations with a beautiful afternoon tea in the Castle, a fun round of golf on the lovely course, and a warm welcome dinner in Hermione’s. I honestly don’t even know where to begin writing this review… First of all, I miss Shannon so much! She helped me plan my wedding for about eight months, and we were in constant communication through emails and phone calls. She answered every question I had, eased my concerns, cleared up my confusion, and even helped me navigate family issues along the way. She truly resolved everything with so much patience and care.
If you are planning a wedding, please know that things will change—especially if you start planning months or even years ahead. But the team at Kilkea, and especially Shannon, were so understanding and helpful. They offered us several solutions and worked everything out perfectly. Shannon went above and beyond—speaking with managers, beverage coordinators, and hotel staff—to make sure everything was taken care of. She always came back to us with answers, solutions, and reassurance.
I truly appreciate her dedication. It’s clear she cares deeply about Kilkea as a valued employee, but just as importantly, she genuinely cares about the couples she works with. Shannon and her entire team were absolutely wonderful throughout the whole planning process.
As for the wedding days—this was a destination wedding, and I had only visited Kilkea once during a vacation stay. That meant I couldn’t “check, look, or taste” anything in advance of the wedding. But Shannon did everything in her power to make me feel comfortable—sending me pictures, videos, and updates, which was so incredibly helpful.
The most important part of this review, though, is about the day we arrived. We had a welcome dinner planned (and we had changed rooms, plans, and menus multiple times because of our fluctuating guest count), so honestly, I had no idea what to expect. The last thing I wanted was for our guests—who had traveled so far and spent so much—to arrive and be served a mediocre, simple, or underwhelming welcome dinner. I was truly worried.
But when we arrived… OMG. The tables, the way the chairs were set, the flowers, the candles, the menus—every single detail was more beautiful than I ever imagined. It exceeded all of my expectations. The manager on duty that evening was also so helpful in choosing wines to pair with the menu, and later they even helped us bring music into the bar area so we could continue the celebration into the night. We had such an amazing time with our friends and family. The welcome dinner turned out to be a wonderful surprise for both me and my husband.
Then came the wedding day itself—another magical and perfectly smooth day. Shannon took care of every single detail: the timeline, the schedule, making sure I had my meals and drinks, and ensuring everything ran seamlessly. Her entire team was attentive, organized, and supportive. Nothing went wrong, and everything felt effortless thanks to her.

Kilkea Castle is a breathtaking venue, and when we first toured with our parents we were blown away by the beauty, the history, and the warmth of the staff. At our tasting, Emma impressed us with her expertise on the food, wines, and service, and she even showed us the Baronial Hall fully set for an event, which helped us fall in love with the space. On our wedding day, both Emma and Ishmael worked tirelessly to make our reception flawless—they are an absolute credit to Kilkea and truly made us feel cared for.
That said, we want to give an honest account that future couples will find helpful. My husband and I are very organized—we left multiple emails and detailed lists of questions well in advance—but responses from our coordinator often took weeks. Critical details like the seating chart weren’t finalized until the week of our wedding. If it hadn’t been for our independent wedding planner, who stepped in to manage these last-minute issues, we would have been overwhelmed. Our advice: if you book Kilkea Castle, absolutely work with an external planner. You can’t rely on the venue alone for coordination.
On arrival, buses could not pull up to the castle as promised, leaving guests confused and with no staff to guide them. Check-in was split between the lodges and castle, which meant our welcome bags couldn’t be distributed as intended. Accommodation was another stress point. We had specifically requested the large carriage room (211), but were instead placed in smaller rooms and ended up moving multiple times—including the morning of the wedding. Constant packing and repacking made the weekend hectic rather than restful. My mother, fully dressed for the ceremony, had to steam my gown herself when promised support never materialized. To make matters worse, I was approached during makeup about “rain plans” for a castle ceremony, even though we had repeatedly confirmed in emails that our ceremony was at Carlow Cathedral.
The reception itself was magical thanks to Emma and Ishmael, but management left us disappointed. After checkout, we were pursued for an additional €670, which Kilkea later confirmed was an internal error—still, this should never have been handled during our honeymoon.
Kilkea Castle has immense potential, and the setting is truly stunning. But in our experience, communication and organization from the wedding coordinator were lacking, and it often felt like we were chasing for answers. For future couples, I would strongly recommend hiring an experienced wedding planner to manage the details and ensure your vision is executed. With the right people supporting you, Kilkea can be the dream venue it looks to be.

We recently had our wedding ceremony and reception at Kilkea Castle, and we can honestly say it was everything we dreamed of — and more. From the moment we arrived to the final farewell, the entire experience was incredible.
We welcomed 130 guests, most of whom traveled from the U.S. and the UK to join us in Ireland. Nearly everyone stayed on-site, and the convenience, comfort, and charm of the castle and its grounds made it feel like our own.
We kicked things off with a welcome reception at Hermione’s, which set the tone perfectly. The food, ambiance, and hospitality were exceptional — a warm and elegant start to start the festivities.
The wedding day itself was magical. The staff at Kilkea Castle were truly outstanding, taking care of every detail with grace and efficiency, allowing us to relax and enjoy every moment with our guests. The setting is stunning, steeped in Irish history and surrounded by lush countryside — a perfect backdrop for a romantic and memorable event.

Every aspect of our wedding was magical - hiccups and challenges occur but it was never due to the amazing staff at Kilkea Castle. They’re care and support from before, during and after the wedding made us and all our guests feel like family. We had a beautiful intimate castle wedding and every staff member made it an absolute joy. I can never thank or appreciate everyone enough. We had fun together. Every aspect of the property is amazing and you can find what you’re looking for from beautiful gardens to old cemetery ruins to amazing fun golf course and escape rooms and other fun activities. Food and experience is outstanding. We will be back hopefully at least every other year as we love it so much. Every guest shared how magical it was and that is due to the care and attentiveness of the staff. They will forever be family and I’m so thankful I had the privilege to get married there. From California to Kilkea is a trip that I will always make. 🖤

My husband and I got married at Kilkea Castle in June 2025. Our wedding was the best time of our lives, and we know it would not have been the same anywhere else!!
We had 110 guests, many of whom stayed on property in various locations, and everyone had an incredible experience. We stayed Thursday - Saturday, and wanted to stay even longer! There was so much to do, the food was always great and all of the rooms were beautiful! We were able to do our rehearsal dinner on site at Hermiones the night before the wedding, which was so convenient (and delicious)! Before our rehearsal dinner, my Husband and his groomsman were able to play some golf, and they all absolutely loved the course. My bridesmaids and I had afternoon tea which was so much fun!
The Spa was also a huge hit among many of our guests!
The day of the wedding was beyond what I could have imagined. Everyone we worked with at Kilkea was kind and thoughtful. They worked so hard to make sure we had the best time possible. My bridesmaids and I got ready that morning in The Willow Lodge room which we had booked for the weekend. The Lodge was excellent and there was enough spaced for 16 of us to get ready!! The ceremony was so picturesque, the rose garden is stunning and the view of the castle is unreal. Everything from the ceremony to the cocktail hour to the reception was just perfect!! The drinks, dinner and desserts were 10/10! That night we stayed in a suit in the castle and it was such a special room! We felt like a King and Queen 😂🥰 I would definitely recommend getting married at Kilkea!! (( Or just staying there for a magical experience! )) We’re looking forward to going back in the future!

I got married this past June at Kilkea Castle and it was the best decision my wife and I made! My wife and I are from Miami and wanted to do a destination wedding!
The staff and groundskeepers are the kindest people and they were extremely helpful with everything. They made our wedding the most memorable day of our lives. All the staff go out of their way to make sure you and your family are all taken care of.
Sinead went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. The castle and the whole area is truly gorgeous. I highly recommend if you are looking to get married in Ireland with a beautiful venue, Kilkea Castle is the best!

I cannot say enough good things about Kilkea Castle and the incredible staff. Sinead made my wedding day amazing and went more than above and beyond for us. We felt like the only people in the world the whole time at Kilkea and were constantly blown away and surprised by new and great unexpected things. They helped and handled everything for us while being so kind the entire time. The whole staff, especially including Sinead, Ishmael, Emma, and Glenn, to name a few, were so amazing. I can't thank everyone enough. I also found the pricing to be fantastic and well worth the value. We are an LGBT couple and felt so comfortable and welcomed the entire time. We will be returning from the US just to spend our anniversaries here!! This was a dream fairytale wedding.

A huge thank you to Sinead, our amazing wedding coordinator. She was a total star — calm, organised, and genuinely lovely to work with. She guided us through every step of the planning process and made sure every detail was perfect. On the day, she worked her magic behind the scenes so we could just enjoy every moment without a worry.
We also want to give a massive shoutout to David and Ishmael, who ran the banquet with such professionalism and warmth. They made sure everything flowed beautifully, and so many of our guests commented on how seamless and well-run the whole evening was. We had the wedding of our dreams at Kilkea Castle. The level of service from the wedding team and all of the staff is 5 star level. No ask was too big and absolutely nothing was trouble. Our day ran absolutely perfectly and our guests had such an incredible time. Not only is the venue itself just so beautiful, but the food and drinks and everything in between is exceptional. We honestly couldn't pick out a single flaw! Thank you so much to the team for an incredible 3 days of celebrations!!

We got married at Kilkea on 18 October 2024 and are still talking about how wonderful it was nearly six months later. When we viewed it initially, we thought Kilkea was the perfect venue and we were right. It’s not just the stunning castle that made the day so special but the attentiveness and care of the incredible staff. Huge thanks in particular to Shannon our wedding coordinator who was with us every step of the way, from the lead up, to the day itself and who looked after absolutely everything to such a high standard. The entire experience with Kilkea went beyond the day itself - every step of the journey from our initial viewing with Michaela who patiently answered our millions of questions, to our menu tasting in the weeks prior where we were wined and dined like royalty, to our Day 2 at Hemione’s - it was all so special. Really can’t thank the team at Kilkea enough. The only bad part is that we can’t do it all over again! If we could, Kilkea would be the place

Kilkea Castle was the perfect venue for myself and my husband's wedding in October 2024! Michaela and the wedding team were superb to deal with, and always available at the end of the phone to answer any of my questions in the lead up to the big day! We had our wedding reception in Kilkea Castle, and our day two celebrations in the golf club. The staff were amazing all weekend - and the grounds were absolutely gorgeous! We still get compliments on Kilkea Castle as a wedding venue to this day - we would highly recommend!!

Truly the best venue we could have chosen for our wedding. Once in a lifetime. This is your sign to book this venue. Entire staff was amazing and made not only us but all of our guests feel welcomed. Everyone at Kilkea went above and beyond - 6 months later our guests are still talking about their experience. I want to also give credit to Michaela and the wedding events team - they are the best in the business. We had a hiccup with one of our vendors (not associated with Kilkea) and Michaela saved the day. Thank you Kilkea for the best day of our lives!!

We loved everything about Kilkea Castle. From the stunning grounds, the food, to the different accommodation options to offer guests. We liked how guests were in different parts of the venue for our night before dinner, wedding day and day 2. Our guests were wowed by the venue and we received lots of positive feedback about how welcoming the staff were.
Shannon and Michaela were fantastic to deal with and were really helpful and went above and beyond on the day.

The Staff were exceptional, so warm and welcoming. We were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived, each time we visited not just on our big day.
Our planning experience was made stress free from beginning to end thanks to Michaela and Elaine. The best in the business. The organization and planning in the lead up was also taken off our hands and all service providers were communicating directly with Michaela to ensure everything went seamlessly.

They were continually there for us, at the drop of a phone call or email. They talked us through the whole day, its run up and when we got to the day itself it went better than we could have imagined. The food and wine tasting made us feel like we were the only people getting married there the whole year! Kilkea is an amazing wedding venue and Michaela and the team provided an excellent service on our wedding day in November. The food was amazing and our guests are still talking about it. It was a dream come true to get married in such a beautiful setting. Michaela made the day stress free for us and had everything so organised we couldn't recommend her and the venue enough.

Elaine, Michaela and the rest of the team at Kilkea Castle really provided us with the most magical wedding day, they made everything so easy for us from initial viewing until the big day and made sure everything ran so smoothly on the day and took all last minute stresses away. The venue, the reception drinks, the food everything was absolutely amazing and our guests had the best time from start to finish.
The team were able to accommodate for last minute changes and requests and were so professional throughout. We would not have been able to have the day we had without them.
The grounds itself is spectacular but the team really go the extra mile to make sure your vision comes to light. Honestly, we were so happy with choosing Kilkea as our wedding venue and would highly recommend this to any newly engaged couples.

My husband and I got married in September of this year and Kilkea castle could not have been any more amazing. From the very start when we selected the venue, Michaela and her team were always available for questions and provided helpful solutions at every turn. We are US based and so planning a wedding from afar was daunting, but Michaela was able to help us with vendor recommendations and handled everything at the castle smoothly so we didn't have to worry. The team were also incredibly accommodating to any ask that we had, like supplementing the wine choices or having pints of Guinness at the drinks reception. When we realized our wedding size was going to be a bit too large for the indoor ceremony space and had to pivot to having a marquee in the garden, the team were excellent in helping us get that coordinated. On the day Michaela and Elaine kept everyone together and gave my us peace of mind that they would manage any potential snafus and we could just enjoy our magical day. We would absolutely recommend Kilkea to anyone thinking of having their wedding in the Kildare area!

The weddings team at Kilkea castle are second to none, they were professional and very responsive. I could tell they knew what they were doing and trusted the team to ensure our guests had a very special stay. Many guests have commented on how superb the staff were, they could not do enough for us!
Every dish that came out of the kitchen was delicious and piping hot, they have great options to suit all needs. There are so many beautiful spots for photos too, your photographer will love you!
An extra special shout out to Michaela on the weddings team, her calm positivity is exactly what you want beside you on your big day, she really made working with Kilkea a pleasure.
We cannot wait to revisit Kilkea in the future, it has the most special place in our hearts!

Would highly recommend Kilkea Castle as the perfect wedding venue. We had the best weekend! The wedding team were so helpful & accommodating, kept us calm in the run up! They are pro's. The hospitality service was also 5 star. All the guests were so well looked after. Food was delicious, generous with the booze! We loved our day 2 in the clubhouse too. Great BBQ and let us arrange our own music etc. Would love to do it all over again! Big thanks Michaela, Elaine & team x

Having our wedding at Kilkea Castle was a dream come true. We are so grateful to the wonderful staff who went above and beyond for us, especially Elaine, who was our wedding fairy godmother! Nothing was too much pressure, and so much effort was made to accommodate our families from Ireland and Tanzania. Elaine & Michaela and all the wedding team and staff at Kilkea Castle have the utmost professionalism and warmth. From the moment we booked and decided on Kilkea castle, right through the process they made our wedding journey a joy. The castle, facilities, rooms and whole build up was made so much easier knowing the teams quality and standards. We were married on 29th December 2022 in Kilkea Castle. It was an amazing day and we and our guests are still reeling from it. In summary, fantastic staff, lovely venue, amazing food and drinks. Hard to beat in our opinion. From arrival we fell in love with Kilkea, it only got better and better as we worked with Michaela to plan our day. We were listened to, nothing was ever a hassle and every idea was possible! Every person we dealt with was so personable and welcoming, which made the venue even more idyllic. Kilkea Castle for our wedding in December was the perfect venue choice. Weather on the day was icy and frosty but the team took this in their stride and we?re extremely accommodating in terms of where to get amazing photos and how to accommodate our guests. The team were extremely professional and our wedding was absolutely perfect!! The food was amazing and all the guests were talking about how exceptional it was. The castle and the baronial hall are so well decorated and were so exquisitely setup by the team. In the run up and on the day Elaine, Michaela and all the team are very helpful and responsive to all requests. On the day David the food manager was a star too. We would highly highly recommend Kilkea Castle to anyone looking at castle wedding venues. The whole team really went above and beyond from start to finish and we are so grateful for all they did to help create our dream wedding!!!

We had the best experience with all the Team at Kilkea Castle. Having previously worked in events, it would take a lot for me to hand over the reigns on my wedding but Elaine & Michaela were the dream wedding team! An absolute pleasure to deal with for almost 2 years, nothing was an issue, they were as cool as a breeze and are simply professionals at what they do. All of the staff in Kilkea were so lovely throughout our visits in advance of the wedding and our 4 days on site for the wedding week. We felt like we were at home and they made us and our guests feel like we were the only wedding there ever. I can't recommend them enough as a wedding venue, top class service! We can't wait to go back to visit!

Wow! I've dreamt of my wedding growing up, and our wedding day at Kilkea castle FAR exceeded my dreams. The grounds are so picturesque, and well maintained. The food was the most delicious food I've had in a while that our guests still talk about it and say they wish we were closer to continue to enjoy. As beautiful as the grounds were and as incredible as the food was. The star of Kilkea is the staff. The take the castle thing seriously and we were treated like royalty. From the guest attendants at check in, the servers, the bar staff and lady but not least the pleasure of getting to work with Elaine and Michaela. The planning process was smooth (even after postponing twice because of COVID) if you are thinking of Kilkea as your venue don't think any further and reserve your day. It will be the most incredible day ever.

We had a fantastic wedding day at Kilkea Castle. Our wedding coordinators Elaine and Michaela helped us so much leading up to the day (like many we were postponed 2x's due to Covid ). We had my family traveling from the US and my partners family and friends coming from Ireland and they were all blown away by the castle and the attentiveness of the staff during our 3 day wedding activities. After two years of postponing our big day due to Covid we finally got to have our wedding day at Kilkea castle. Over the course of the two years waiting, we got great support and understanding from the team at Kilkea castle, heralded by the amazing Elaine McFadden. From the start of the weekend with a family dinner on the Friday night through to the traditional music session in The Keep bar on the Sunday night, the staff at the hotel and wedding venue were simply delightful, great humored and everything went smoothly (including the rain stopping for the duration of the service on the Saturday, that was the master stroke, thank you Elaine;)
We have received our photos and videos recently and it is magical to look back at the location and history that surrounded us and most importantly, how much fun everyone had and still talks about. Hats off the chef and the kitchen for rolling out the red carpet for us, the food was sublime the late-night snacks went down a treat for all our energic dancers, of which there were plenty.
We are forever grateful to Elaine and the staff, as well as the owners who get a special mention. We got to witness such great support and expansion of the facilities while we waited for covid to pass. The new Spa is not to be missed on any stay.
We had a dream and the wedding team at Kilkea castle made it come through. They will always be in our hearts. We are looking forward to returning to stay in the future. All our friends and family left having such a wonderful experience with plenty of good Irish stories too. If they didn't know what the craic was before, they sure do now.

The service at Kilkea blew past any expectations we had, and they were high. The staff was friendly, efficient, and extremely accommodating. On the day of our wedding, there was a 90% chance of rain. Knowing how important it was to us to have our wedding outside the staff prepared for both indoor and outdoor options for the ceremony going above and beyond our expectations. Elaine was extremely warm, welcoming, and responsive from day one! Now that it is the holiday season a majority of the holiday cards we received have photos of our guests at the castle: ). If there ever was a need for a reference my husband and I would drop everything to share our experience.

What can we say? it was the most unforgettable experience! If we had high expectations they were completely surpassed! The service was incredibly personable from start to finish. The Rooms were great and the property was amazing! We have our friends still talking about our wedding six months later! Elaine and staff were just outstanding. Without a doubt if you want the wedding of a lifetime go to Kilkea. We are from the United States and hands down tell anyone to make the trip and if you live in Ireland what a wonderful gem you have in your backyard

I was Part of the wedding party for a super wedding last Friday the 10th of June . Elaine and Michaela the wedding planners , were a great help to my daughter and I found the whole day and night superbly managed by the entire Team at the hotel and wedding venue . Particular mention must go to David who was the banqueting Manager I think and was so obliging with everything that was asked of him . A great day and thank you .

I cannot say enough amazing things about this team and venue. Elaine and Micaela were absolutely wonderful and made me feel so at ease throughout the day and leading up to the wedding I just knew I could count on them to make the process so seamless. I loved every second and would recommend any and everyone to get married here or at least attend a wedding here. We cannot wait to already go back and we are so thankful for the amazing help we had even for little things after the wedding. I wish I could go back in time and relive it all over again! We had the most wonderful wedding at Kilkea Castle. Elaine and Michaela were fantastic wedding planners so responsive and helpful no matter how small or trivial the query was. The food was amazing on our wedding day as were the wines we chose. Our guests remarked on how delicious the food was, how accommodating all of the staff were. They were also delighted at the variety of accommodation available onsite. We were blessed with fantastic weather on our wedding day and one of our lasting memories is walking onto the patio at the side of the castle hearing our beautiful reception music and seeing our guests having an amazing time with all of the food and drinks that were on offer. Elaine, Michaela and Neal were so helpful and attentive on the day, looking after ours and our wedding parties every need. There attention to detail was remarkable. They also made sure that our Day 2 celebrations were exactly what we wanted. We can't thank Elaine, Michaela, Neal and all of the staff at Kilkea Castle enough for making our wedding day the best day of our lives.

Kilkea castle was a dream come true for us! The grounds were immaculate. The staff was so helpful and kind. The food was delicious. It was the best day of our lives!!! Can't wait to go back on our anniversary.

Our wedding at Kilkea was just perfect! They could not do enough for you on the day and the service you receive from the team is nothing short of first class. You really are royalty for the day, Elaine is on call for anything you need from organising sandwiches after the Day 2 pub trip or getting a golf cart to bring the mother in law to her room for a quick change! The food was superb and our guests keep saying it's the best wedding they have ever been to! A big thanks to everyone at Kilkea!

Michaela and Elaine are experienced wedding planners and helped us with recommendations and in managing our schedule from start to finish. They are both incredibly patient and lovely to work with. We cannot recommend Kilkea Castle enough, we had our dream Indian - Irish wedding at Kilkea and every expectation we had was surpassed and then some!! Planning a fusion wedding from overseas (including 2 covid postponements) sounds pretty daunting but Elaine and the staff at Kilkea made it a breeze for us. Elaine was so incredibly helpful every step of the way and very accommodating to our requests.
The venue itself is absolutely stunning. From the long tree lined driveway, beautifully manicured gardens and regal accommodation, no detail is missed. Ourselves and our guests really did feel like royalty for the weekend!
The food was fantastic, Elaine had worked with us to create a fusion Indian/Irish menu and the guests were not disappointed! Our wedding day ran like clockwork thanks to Elaine and all the staff involved, the service from them all was simply outstanding during our stay. The best decision we made when planning our wedding was choosing Kilkea Castle for our reception. From the first visit to the day itself, we have had an amazing experience. We were so well looked after and they were so responsive to any emails or phone calls. We had the most wonderful wedding day and our guests were blown away by the venue, food and service. Michaela and Elaine were wonderful to deal with, along with all the other staff on the day - we didn't have to worry about anything. We would 100% recommend Kilkea Castle to any couples currently planning their wedding!

We had a fantastic wedding at Kilkea Castle, it couldn't have been any better. The day went exactly as we had hoped with all of the guests enjoying themselves. The venue was perfect; the staff made our guests feel really welcome and relaxed and the castle was a real luxury with the open log fire while the guests enjoyed their canapés and drinks. The meal did not disappoint either, the food was fantastic and served by very attentive and friendly staff. After the meal we had drinks in the bar and it was really pleasant evening catching up with friendly. The bar staff were excellent and really looked after our guests and enjoyed a bit banter with them too.
Our wedding planner, Elaine, with some help from Michaela ensured that everything was organised really well and matched with our hopes for the day. Our wedding was impacted a couple of times by covid restrictions and guests who had to cancel but Elaine and her team were very helpful and reassuring throughout and made sure everything ran smoothly despite the changes. Even on the day of the wedding when our photographer had to cancel due to covid, Elaine managed to find us one at short notice, she couldn't have been more helpful. The photographer turned out to be really great too.

Elaine and the entire Kilkea Castle team were amazing in everything from our first enquiry call, planning through restrictions, and right through to the day itself and afterwards. We didn't click 5 stars for everything 'just because'. It genuinely was 5 star service, and every member of our family complimented the venue, food but most of all the staff who really made this a wonderful weekend. Personally, I felt like the princess of the castle for the entire weekend, and our family felt like royalty. Thank you again to the team, it was magical.

We had the most amazing wedding experience at Kilkea Castle. One we will never forget! Food was to die for! Staff were so professional and provided a bespoke experience for all our guests. Our guests are still all talking about it! Accommodation has many options to suit all budgets and the grounds provide for the perfect wedding photos without having to leave the site. Our ceremony was also on site and Staff were on hand every step of the day to check in with us. Couldn't recommend Kilkea Castle enough!

The team at Kilkea Castle were impeccable in their execution of the dream that was our wedding day. We are so grateful to the team at Kilkea Castle for ensuring such a seamless weekend, full of love. Nothing was too big for them and every member of their brilliant staff were on hand continuously throughout be weekend for us and our guests. The food was absolutely unreal and will be something our guests will remember greatly about our weekend. From day dot, Kilkea Castle treated us as VIPs and this added hugely to the build of of the big weekend. From consultations to food tasting to the big weekend, the brilliant team at Kilkea Castle made our dreams become a reality. The biggest thank you hoes out to Elaine, the fairy godmother. Elaine, you took my vision and created a fairytale. I am still pinching myself looking through the photos of our weekend - I cannot believe those pictures were of our special day! We had our wedding reception in Kilkea Castle in December 2018. To summarise ? we cannot recommend this venue highly enough!
The staff were absolutely incredible throughout every stage of the process but were particularly impressive the day of the wedding. They so accommodating and nothing was ever a problem. On the day of the wedding, everything ran like clockwork because of their hard work. A particular mention to Elaine, Charlene and the gentleman in charge at the bar (whose name I can't recall at this moment-apologies)!
The castle itself and Baronial hall (where our meal/reception was held) are absolutely beautiful. The grounds are also stunning. An important factor for us in choosing a venue was that the guests would have somewhere to stay on site at a reasonable price and Kilkea really ticked this box having a range of high quality accommodation at different price levels.

We recently got married at Kilkea (6th October 2018) and had an absolutely amazing time!
We had roughly 200 guests (half coming in from abroad, but nearly all stayed over!) which were comfortably accommodated across the castle, lodges and carriage rooms. We took exclusivity of the castle for the entire weekend and cannot speak highly enough of this place. The venue and setting itself are stunning. A castle and a wedding reception room with a 12th Century feature wall with stained glass windows, just magical!!!
Our food tasting experience was exceptional - having our own sommelier was a nice touch and we had opportunity to discuss with the Emma the Chef once finished (who is then the chef on your day - another nice touch). We had quite a few different dietary requirements e.g. I was gluten free, all of which were catered for impeccably. It was fabulous being at my own wedding and eating every single dish that I wanted to from the canapés to the gluten free crisp sandwiches at the end of the night! The food on the day was exceptional, with many saying the crab starter was the best food they'd ever eaten.
The ability to book entire lodges ensured that the wedding wasn't too costly for some of our overseas guests with the carriage rooms being available for those wanting something special.
We also had afternoon tea and a formal evening meal the following day. A small hiccup with breakfast on the morning after the 2nd night was rectified well and all of our guests left happy.
Both days were amazing and really quite impressive in such spectacular grounds. In particular, staff on the day of the Wedding were Fantastic.
Elaine was our contact at Kilkea and was superb. Her organisation and control on the day meant we didn't need to think about things and worry that everything was happening - we were able to relax knowing Elaine had it in hand. For the evening Elaine passed us over to Charlene who had ownership of our experience in the Baronial Hall. I personally very much liked this as it meant Charlene was invested in our day, and Charlene and her team were outstanding. Our meal and speeches over-ran quite significantly (because of us delaying and delivering long speeches) but the staff were able to cater for this without issue.
In the Castle we had a great time. Two members of staff of note: Andrew and Nazeem.
Andrew was there throughout our time in the Castle and was absolutely on point. Available whenever we needed and for whatever reason, but most importantly he was great fun, professional and pleasant to all of our guests. A good number of our guests mentioned him by name to us after the event which shows the impact he had.
Nazeem was involved in our food tasting and throughout our entire weekend. Quiet and unassuming, but genuinely lovely and happy. We both got time chatting to him and were pleased he went through the whole process with us - remembering us from our tasting and coming over to speak with us and waving to us as we came in on the day. Lovely chap.
In summary, amazing venue, exceptional organisation, would go back there in a heartbeat. Highly recommended. We cannot wait to go back on our 1 year anniversary!

Kilkea Castle was truly amazing. The staff ensured it was the best day ever. Our guests were amazed by their attentiveness and food was out of this world, both at dinner and at breakfast the next morning. The service was fabulous I would recommend Kilkea castle to anyone who is looking for an exceptional wedding venue every thing was perfect.

Kilkea Castle is the dream. When they say you can have a fairytale wedding, it is true. I had my wedding the 22nd of July and I really felt like I was in a fairytale and I was the Queen. My guests did not want to leave the castle and back in Italy they are still talking about it.
There won't be enough words to describe what they did for us, from our arrival on Saturday, until our departure on Monday. The castle grounds, lodges, castle rooms...everything was amazing, but the best part was the stuff: professional, friendly, kind, always with a smile. Guys, you really made my day perfect!! I was so relaxed the morning of my wedding because I could really see that I was in good hands!! Food was simply delicious and I am planning to come back for that as well! 5 stars are not enough as you really gave us a dream and this is priceless. Thanks again!!

Kilkea itself is such a beautiful, peaceful, and truly magical place. I feel incredibly lucky that we were able to celebrate our wedding there. It was honestly the best day, and I would wholeheartedly recommend Kilkea to anyone considering getting married in Ireland.
One of my favorite parts of our experience was staying at Kilkea from July 27–30, along with most of our guests. Because so many of our loved ones stayed on the property with us, our wedding felt like so much more than just one day. We got to spend meaningful time together before the wedding, enjoy the property, and really soak in the experience with the people we care about most. It made the whole celebration feel incredibly intimate and special.
Kilkea’s campus is also so walkable, which made it easy for everyone to naturally run into each other and spend time together, no matter where they were staying on the property. It created such a wonderful atmosphere and made our guests feel like they were truly part of the entire wedding experience.
And on the wedding day itself, everything ran so smoothly. The staff made us feel so special and taken care of, and I didn’t have to stress about anything. I was able to be fully present and enjoy every moment with my husband, our daughter, our family, and our friends.
We couldn’t have imagined a more beautiful or meaningful place to get married. Kilkea will always hold such a special place in our hearts, and we are so grateful to the entire team for making our wedding day and the days surrounding it so great!
